With a deep breath in, Macmillion let the sensation of smoke burn into his lungs before exhaling the fumes once more into the dark of the night. Leaning forward onto the rails of the balcony, he could see the entire parking lot of the apartment complex below. The street lamps flickered on and off without rhyme or reason, perhaps an omen for the chaos yet to come.

With a tired grunt, the old man dug deep into his robe before managing to pull out a little pink phone, his medium for communicating with his little group. "Is everyone in position?"

William Hudson, a freelance reporter that lived on the floor above, had been causing recent trouble for a small band of Elite. As a result, they had come to the Wiseman in hopes that something could be done to silence the man, with the offering of some sizeable compensation of course.

William Hudson, his wife, his brother, and his 5-year old son; they would all have to meet an unfortunate end by the dawn of the morning sun. Their untimely deaths brought upon by the crazed actions of the Messiah Complex.

Of course only a select few knew what was actually happening tonight. To the rest, this was just another raid against outed members of the MC, another chance to clean the city of terrorist scum.

"Remember, you are to leave no target unaccounted for, no witnesses." A smile crept onto his wrinkled face as he puffed another willow of smoke into the darkness. "Be sure to run wild, you damn brats."

Beneath the cover of her shadow cocoon, Carlotta Jacinto adjusted her earpiece. "No witnesses," came a gravelly voice, interspersed by bursts of static; "Be sure to run wild, you damn brats."

"Jacinto, here, in position and awaiting the target's arrival." Through a hairsbreadth gap in her disguise, Carlotta trained her eyes on the corner of 12th and Peterson, awaiting the white cab which belonged to Eli Hudson. "No sign of him yet, sir."

She depressed the 'mute' switch and sighed, wrapping the shadows tight about her frame. Her station atop the Peterson Laundromat was convenient but chilly, and she envied Myrran for the more comfortable post Mr. Macmillion had assigned him.

At least Carlotta had the opportunity to confront Eli if circumstances allowed. Though she doubted her colleague would let her keep all that excitement to herself, it was worth a try. Too much time had passed since she was last assigned to the battlefield.

"Jacinto, here." She shifted her weight, suppressed a grunt at the pins-and-needles sensation racing up her calves. "Permission to engage Eli Hudson in combat at my own discretion?"

Myrran's job was supposed to be simple. He was supposed to wait inside the comfort of a small coffee shop until their target showed up. That was it. "No witnesses...?" He repeated quietly to himself, glancing around the shop. It was pretty much empty, the chill from the recent blizzard had kept most residents of the Gardens inside.

He pressed his hand to his com link. "Najmah here, ready whenever you give the word, sir." He heard Carlotta ask to take down their target as soon as he appeared...well that wasn't very sportsman-like, now was it? Still, that was how he figured the Elite did things.

Macmillion let out a stream of smoke from his loft above. If not for already knowing who was waiting below, his eyes would have never caught the flicker of unnatural movement from the shadows beneath him. Everything seemed to be going smoothly. Good.

"Only take the shot if you think you've got one," he said, pink phone pressed casually against his ear. "We can worry about clean-up once the mess is made."

The lights of two separate cars shone visibly through the night as they turned their way into the empty parking lot.

Well, it looks like the guests of honour have arrived.

Macmillion grinned as he could feel his blood rush with anticipated excitement. "Jacinto, Najmah-- Your targets are heading your way."

He reviewed the situation in his mind. With Carlotta dealing with Eli and Myrran with Hudson's wife, that left the star-host and his child waiting patiently for their return on the floor above. If things went well, perhaps they would have an extra surprise waiting for them as well.
