WARNING: Contains cruelty to animals resulting in death, murder by poisoning, attempted rape, and blasphemy against the Christian church. I cannot stress this enough, read the spoiler text at your own risk. *It had taken a lot of information gathering while working at the brothel to find out where Rebecca lived. "Bianca" was as discrete as she could be with her questions, but she supposed there was a lot to be said for repeat customers and being extra sweet with them. It was more than luck that bought her the woman's location, at least on where to start looking.* *Rebecca was living in the Gardens, fitting enough, but she had more than one of the infamous apartments. Her job as a pediatrician afforded her a lifestyle that was far above what she had with her Normal parents. It was a small house with a tiny front yard with nothing more than a round table and a couple chairs to occupy it. She didn't keep flowers or even a small tree.* Maitho: *He was dressed in women's clothes again, but he'd chosen ones that suited his old wardrobe. A baby pink sweater and white slacks with a pair of cheap loafers. His hair was neatly braided and tucked inside a pink newspaper boy's cap.* *He slipped into a side garage door from the back alley roughly a half hour after she left. Unlike the house, it was unlocked.**It took him an hour to unlock the house door, but when inside, he found it was easier to maneuver than he expected. Not that it mattered much when his target was the kitchen.* Dog: [/A small dachshund some out yapping it's head off, hearing someone come in] [/It skids to a stop, in confusion of the stranger- its owner didn't really many of those around after all] [/Not much of a guard do, it waddles up, sniffing the feet in curiosity, whining] Maitho: Tch, damn thing... *He sighs and leans down to scratch it behind its ears.* I'll deal with you later, but I can't have you gone just yet. It'd be suspicious. *He continues to move through the house, waiting for the dog to calm down before tackling the kitchen. His purse is full of vials, multiples of the same in some cases, all fresh from his garden that Issiah was taking care of.* Maitho: Your mother keeps a beautiful house, though, Rowan. I'll give her that much. Dog: [/It seemed sated at being scratched, still whining uneasily before retreated back to the living room to wait for Rebecca to come home, oblivious to what Maitho was up to] Maitho: *He finally leaves the dog in the living room and goes back to the kitchen. He starts with the cupboards, searching for the spices, and when he's found them, he works as quickly as he can to mix his poisons with the spices based on smell and texture. Pepper, salt, oregano, sage, basil, chili powder... He also finds a canister full of coffee, and he puts ground castor beans in that.* *He doesn't use anything that won't kill. He can't take that risk with a medical professional like Rebecca, and he knows it.* *When he can't do anything more, he goes back for the dog.* Maitho: Now... the question is how I get you to leave me alone. *He could always just leave, like he was never there, but no, he wanted to hear this woman die. He needed to be sure, perfectly sure, she was dead.* Or, do I get you to play along? Dog: [/It lifted it's head up at the strange man, whining again] [/It seemed especially uneasy now, but confused as to what to do about it] [/It yaps at Maitho a few times, still curled in it's bed] Maitho: ...fine then, I'll wash my hands and wait outside until she gets dinner ready. How's that sound? *He'd have to get on a roof to keep the dog from finding him on its walk.**He pets the dog again.* Be a good boy and wait for your lady. Rebecca: [/She unlocks the door to her home, dropping her purse on the wall table] [/Instantly the dog runs up to greet her, and she kneels down to give it it's evening kisses and hellos before heading into the kitchen to make her dinner] [/But the moment she reaches for a spice, the dog starts yelping again loudly, scratching furiously at the screen door leading into the small yard] ...Pup? Whats wrong baby, you need to go? [/She sets down whatever she was going to use and walks over to the back entrance where the dog was making a fuss] Maitho: *He doesn't leave the neighbor's roof, but he's listening to everything she says. He'll be down there soon. He has a cigarette in his mouth, but it isn't lit. He knows much better than that.* Rebecca: [/She lets the dog out and it bolts to the direction where Maitho was] [/She could of seen him, but she didn't] [/She never looked up] Chasing birds again? [/Sighing, she shuts the screen door and retreats back to the inside to start making a dinner for one] Maitho: *He mutters down at the dog.* ...you'll get your turn. *The dog keeps yapping excitedly up Maitho, darting around on the yard desperate for Rebecca to just look at the strange man* *But she was busy, ignoring the dog in favor of some recooked from the fridge* *She makes her dish quickly, adding some seasonings to 'freshen' it back up along with a cool glass of iced tea* *It took up to half an hour- give or take but the sound of a plate clattering onto the floor was heard, making the dog go ballistic in the yard* Maitho: Finally. *He chuckles to himself before dropping from the room, trying to land right on the dog itself to shut it up.* I was starting to wonder when she would finally have some of that foxglove seed (the pepper)... *The dog barely gets out of the way for the first time, growls at him* *Still a passive dog, doesn't attack* *Instead it runs to the screen door, scratching desperately at the glass* *Rebecca had fell to to the floor, clutching her chest as if struggling to breath* *She was seeing halos and hearing strange things that she was sure that wasn't there, and the symptoms only seemed to be getting worse* *Halos started blurring, giving way for the dark* Maitho: *He walks past the dog and inside, and he rolls Rebecca over onto her stomach with his foot.* Oh... you aren't dying yet, Rebecca. Oh no, I've got too much to talk to you about. *He crouches down to restrain her with a zip tie from his purse, and then he rolls her back over.* Now throw it all back up. *He slams his knee into her stomach.* Rebecca: [/She looked up, shaking] [/Help? A neighbor?] [/Weakly she tried to speak but panic flashes across her face when she's tried up] W-Wait-!? [/She lurches, forward, curling on the floor feeling his knee slam against her so hard] [/More than enough for her to lose the dinner she just ingested minutes before] [/The dog, seeing the violence on it's master, charged up to Maitho and latches its jaw on his side, biting, pulling, trying to protect his owner] Spoiler: click to toggle Maitho: *He reaches higher, for the hair right at her scalp and yanks her back towards him again.* Do not. pull away from me. You have no right to tell me who you are or are not. *His voice gets deeper.* Say the Lord's Prayer. If you say it, I'll spare you that. You will still die, but I won't do what you did to me. Only He can save a miserable bitch like you. Rebecca: [/Prayer?] [/Was... he religious now?] T-The lord's....I-I don't... [/She starts to hyperventalte, trying to think] G-Give... g-give this day o-our daily b-bread.... Maitho: ...I didn't know it either, but Val taught me. *Even after all this time, he still can't bring himself to go back to saying the man's full name.**He rests his forehead on hers, suddenly speaking much more gently than before.* Do you want me to help you say it...? Rebecca, the "Snare?" Rebecca: [/She flinches at his forehead on hers, and tries to swallow] Y-Yes... yes, l-lets do that, okay? Maitho: Good girl. *He finally closes his eyes. They burn as if he hasn't blinked in all this time, but he's not in any physical pain, not right now.* Our Father in heaven... hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven... *He actually starts to cry as he says it.* Give us this day... our daily bread, and forgive us our sins... as we forgive those who sin against us. *He wraps his arms around Rebecca, now burying his face in her neck.* And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. *He takes a deep breath.* For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory for ever and ever... Amen. Rebecca: [/She shakily says the familiar words with him] [/But she wasn't prepared for the tears falling on his face, for him to suddenly.... seem so vulnerable] ...amen. [/She takes a deep breath as well, hoping that it was over now] Are... Are you... Maitho: ...I'm sorry, but I did tell you that I was only going to pare you that one thing. *He takes another deep breath and covers her mouth with his hand. He's holding something in it against her lips.* You're still going to die, but before you do, I want to tell you something. Don't say a word, just nod if you'll listen. Rebecca: [/She presses her lips as tightly as possibly together, to keep whatever it was he was trying to force in out] [/Still, she nods] Maitho: Don't believe what the news told you, about Rowan, I mean. He... our son... he's a very good boy, Rebecca. *He swallows, his face still buried in her neck, and then he smiles.* You might die because of it... but when you didn't tell me about Rowan, you saved his life. If for that reason only, you were a wonderful mother, Rebecca. You did well. *He takes one more deep breath... and then he bites the center of her throat, digging in deep with his sharpened back teeth. If she tries to scream at all, she'll swallow the small, wrapped packet of nightshade seeds.* Rebecca: [/She wished that she could of... said something] [/But for just a second, it felt as though a small weight was lifted off her chest] [/But just for a second] [/Just before he sunk what felt like fangs into her skin, and scream, scream she did] [/She screamed, letting the nightshade seeds fall into her mouth making her gag] Maitho: *He doesn't let her throw up again, keeping his hand over her mouth as he sunk his teeth in as deep as they would go. He could taste her blood, and it made his tongue burn.**He never wanted to taste anything like it again, not if it reminded him of her.* Rebecca: [/She keeps twisting and squirming, but the seeds do finally go down, and a completely new series of spasms over take her body] [/Her eyes roll back as she loses all of her senses, choking, gagging in some last pitiful attempt of survival] [/Unable to breath, unable to handle the toxic poison now in her stomach, she finally starts to die down] [/Her movements slow, weaken until finally, she wasn't breathing anymore] [/Her eyes remain wide open] Maitho: ..... *It's only when he's sure that Rebecca is no longer breathing that he finally lets go. His jaw aches, and the can feel her blood on his face around his mouth and down his chin. He's shaking all over, and he hasn't stopped crying since the prayer.**It didn't soothe him... but if God did exist, then maybe she had a chance.* ..... *He wasn't done yet, though.* *The blind man gets up and walks into the kitchen one last time, stepping over the dead dog, and grabbing a paring knife. He's not as good at typography as Haydn, but he wasn't going to ask his brother to do this. If Rebecca's murder was going to quiet the voices of his own self-hate, then he needed to do everything himself.* *Maitho takes Rebecca's body out of the house, the time being the dead of night by the cold chill in the air, and quietly moves her through yard after yard. He doesn't take her to a church... instead, he picks a nearby graveyard just outside of the Gardens. He as a small outfit ready for her, one of the Virgin Mary, and he redresses her.* *Before leaving her body in front of a grave, one for yet another Valentine, he carves the following into her arms.* ...that you abstain from sexual immortality, that each of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor. - 1 Thessalonians 4:3-4 *Rebecca's eyes, unbeknownst to her murderer, were still wide open.* |
