Warning: Ridiculous flirting ahead. Resa: *Since she's been getting more jobs lately and Lotta got her a new piece, it was probably a good idea to catch up with the latest. The best place to do that was the Red Light District - people from all walks of life ended up there, and the alcohol and money changing hands tended to loosen people's tongues. She was sitting in a quieter corner of town, wearing a long dust coloured poncho that covered her wings and fell to her knees. Her hair was dyed coppery brown, so she was less recognisable. Grey sat at her feet, his nose resting on his paws as he seemed to snooze peacefully. The puppy liked to sleep and eat a lot and he wasn't particularly playful, but Resa found he had a sort of quiet intelligence about him that made for a good companion. She just sat watching people go by, attempting to read a tattered paperback.* Maitho: *Spring was finally coming around, but he still found himself wearing a lot of layers. Part of the reason was he still had trouble keeping warm, but more of it had to do with him hiding his scars. Especially the ones he had Haydn carve into him as a "punishment" for Price confining him during his withdrawals.* *Still, he looked a bit more like his old self if only because he was wearing pants. He still had a big baby pink sweater and a long lady's button down shirt underneath it, though, and he'd put on a flower crown after Haydn insisted.* *The puppy was sleeping so quietly that Maitho almost stepped on it.**Thankfully, he only nudged the dog's paw with his foot and stopped.* Maitho: Ah, I'm sorry about that. Didn't see him there. *He's wearing oversized sunglasses, so it's not possible to tell he's blind.* Hope I didn't hurt him. *As if he cared.* Resa: *Grey just pricked his ears and shuffled under Resa's feet, making a small whining sound. She reached down to give him a reassuring scratch under the chin.* "No, he should have kept closer. His own fault." *She should recognise him, but she doesn't.* Maitho: *It's the voice that's familiar... but he can't quiet place it. He has to hear it again to be sure.* Well... in my experience, dogs aren't always the smartest animals. Resa: *She smiles* He's clever enough for me. *She's beginning to place his face to a time that felt so long ago... but the scars and clothes aren't familiar.* Maitho: *He leans down just a little and speaks to her quietly.* A little dog for a little birdy? Resa: *She shrinks back against the wall, her heart in her throat and grabbing at her gun under her poncho.* *Her breath hitches and she stays very still - the wounds from her last job have made her muscles stiffen and she doesn't want to get into a fight* *She doesn't even process what he said* Maitho: What? *He asks in a more conversational tone.* Still afraid after all this time? Goodness, you really have had a hard time of it, and you remember that even now? Resa: *Manages to let out a breath and lightly press his shoulder to get some space back* .... oh, it's you. *That's right, the psycho from back then... not that she was one to talk.* *But she's not as freaked out anymore.* Maitho: *He stands upright again, putting his hands in his pockets.* Yes, it's me, but for now, you can call me Bianca. *smiles* Should we take you and that puppy of yours somewhere to talk? It won't be in a garden this time, I promise. Resa: *Grey had let out the barest hint of a growl at her reaction, but now he was as calm as ever.* What do you want to talk about? *Bianca? Well that explained the clothes. And the hair.* Maitho: We're allies, aren't we? We should really take the time to catch up... and besides, I'm hungry for once. My treat? Resa: *Sighs and stands, letting go of her gun* You didn't strike me as the type for a war meeting. Besides, I'm not with... the others anymore. Maitho: No? Even better... because neither am. They made the mistake of making me upset, but I'm willing to let them continue to exist. *He starts walking.* As for being hungry for war, it's all I know. Resa: *She follows him - strangely she's not actually too worried. Poisoning was a... kinder way to go than most after all. Grey pads after her without needing to be told, tongue rolling out like a wet pink rag.* If you want something, just come out with it. Maitho: All I want is some conversation, but we can't keep talking so brazenly out here. Resa: Alright. *She tucks her hands into one of the many layers of fabric.* Maitho: *hums quietly to himself until he smells something cooking that he likes* Is battered and fried good for you? Resa: Sure. Pick what you like. *She passes him a small cloth wallet - packed with a rather ridiculous amount of cash* Maitho: Hmm? *blinks, feeling the amount of bills* I have my own money, you know? Unless you were looking to pay for my services? *cheeky* Resa: *shrugs* Not fair to have you pay. *He's a normal - how much money can you have?* *She frowns a little at the 'services' comment. Well it is the Red Light District... she smiles.* Didn't even cross my mind. Maitho: Good. *chuckles as he takes the wallet**He'll pay her back some other time.* I didn't exactly wear my best underclothes today. *He heads on inside, smiling as he takes a seat in a booth in the back.* Your dog should be fine here as long as you say it's a service animal. Resa: *She whistles* Sit, Grey. *he sits after a small pause, his training wasn't quite concrete. But he seems to understand he can't come inside when she sits with him, wandering around outside.* I'd prefer not to draw any attention, he's okay where he is. *and he'd come running if she needed. Not that a puppy no bigger than a small kitten would help.* Maitho: If you say so. *A waiter comes by with a couple of glasses of water and menus. The selection isn't great, just one page, since it's one of those "whatever we have" kind of places. Not bad for working folks who are hungry for something solid, though.* Now... do you mind explaining why you're carrying this much on you at once? That hardly seems safe. Resa: It's part of my job. You never know when you're going to need to put the right amount of money in the right hands. It doesn't matter if I'm robbed - there's a lot more, and I have a piece on me. *She settles on the jacket potato, since it's been a while* Not smart. But necessary sometimes. Maitho: *He just wants some fries... as tempting as a burger sounded for once.* Mmm, I was giving most of mine to a certain redhaired idiot, but I suppose I can support my son better instead. Resa: *She doesn't know who the redhead is - but it honestly surprises her he has a child and that he'd be worried about supporting him* Just eat what you like. It doesn't matter what I spend it on. Maitho: Yes, but I don't really feel like eating all that much. This place is rather cheap, but it is filling. *smiles wistfully* It is also brings back more than a few memories although I only started eating here a few weeks ago. Resa: Memories? *This does seem like a normal conversation, but then the last time did too, so she's content to wait.* Maitho: With a special someone from a long time ago. *shakes his head* He always did love the most disgusting food, but he was happy with that. Resa: .... aidric? *She speaks the name very quietly.* Maitho: Yes, of course. He's gone, or so I was told. I don't know if I believe it yet, but for now, I will keep waiting. If he's alive, he'll show up one day, and if not... well, it's not the first time I've waited for the impossible from him. Resa: It's true you can't trust the newspapers. *Those same newspapers she'd torn and scattered all around her cell when Valentine first told her. But she isn't hopeful, she really believes he's gone. As annoying and stupid as he was, without Aidric - the MC was like a headless snake.* Maitho: I would try and tell a certain someone that, but he will always read them. *sighs* In any case, you said you weren't working with them anymore? Is that why no one has brought your name to my attention? Resa: Not sure if they even know I'm out yet. *The waiter comes by* A jacket potato with cheese please, and a bucket of chips. Maitho: A burger, lettuce and tomato but no cheese or dressing. Please. *continues on* Perhaps not, but then again, they're also likely watching their cards with me. Resa: Killed anyone lately? *She meant it as a snarky question - she didn't expect the answer to be yes.* I don't think they'll want me back, knowing what I've been up to. Maitho: If you read the papers, I would say you've probably already seen them. Well, some of them perhaps. *He sips on his water.* In any case, you've probably done much less. Resa: *She's quiet for a moment* And that's why you left? Maitho: Because of my hobby? No, not so much. More because I can't stand being talked to by a woman who is very sure of herself with nothing to back her up. Resa: That sounds like Ant I suppose. *She takes a sip of water* Maitho: It sounds like her now. *sounds rather bitter* It's disgusting. Resa: Grief I guess. Maitho: Then I preferred her being stupid and naive. Resa: *She's a bit troubled at that* I'm sure she's trying. Maitho: I'm sure she is as well, but I'm done trying to appease a little girl who thinks of herself as all grown up. *regardless of the fact Ant was only a few years younger than him, about the same age as Price* I'm better working on my own and feeding them whatever information I think suits me. Resa: *She shifts a bit - little girl? But she just focuses on drinking and doesn't say anything. He has to want her to know this stuff for a reason.* Maitho: And yourself? What have you been up to? Resa: *eyes the wallet that Maitho still has* What? Piles of cash? Air of mystery? Shaggy appearance? It isn't obvious? Maitho: Not really, not here. *grins as their food arrives* Makes me think you've been working nights in the same manner I have. If I could see you that is. Resa: *Oh right* I look like I've stepped out of a snowstorm. I wouldn't know how to work the way you do. *Or really want to.* Maitho: *even more amused* No, it isn't easy. As for a fix, I'm not in need of anything... although I doubt that's what you do. If it was, you'd hardly have a dog with you. Resa: Dealers don't have dogs? Well either way, I'm mixed up in some stuff a bit more serious than just dealing. Maitho: Than "just" dealing. *He actually uses silverware when eating the burger.* What is it, or is it unsafe to talk about here? Resa: It's unsafe to talk about anywhere. I'm with the Jabberwocky, and I didn't want to bring him or Valentine to the door. Maitho: Ah, you really are in deep then. A shame, I thought you could stay out of trouble, but it seems you're as bad as the rest of us in that venture. Resa: *She smiles a bit* I'd leave if I could. But I've got some debts to pay... Maitho: then continue to pay them. It would be more of a hassle if you ignored them... but perhaps I'm biased. After all, I'm paying my own "debts" too. Resa: They're not monetary. I'm not quite that stupid. *Was this about his debts then?* Maitho: Neither are mine. My debts are from the ability to walk around this part of town without fear... although now I have to be careful for other reasons. Resa: Being a prostitute? *Cuts into her potato* I've had a few people make assumptions, though with the way I'm dressed, they must be dumb. Maitho: *He doesn't even flinch when she says it, but his mind finds that more worrying. Since when did he get accustomed to his new profession?* Yes, but more so that I have trouble when I'm not working. Men are handsy in this area, imagining they have the right to any "woman" who passes by. Resa: *snorts* People take me for a boy most of the time. Maitho: You always have had a rather boyish figure... or so James would tell me. Not that he's with us anymore either. Resa: *Her eyes widen a tad* ... w-...what happened to James....? *She's afraid to ask, oh god, did they get to him...?* Maitho: He decided that he didn't want to be a fugitive, so he asked to leave. He has a new identity now, but even I can't find out what it is. Fortune won't say. Resa: *swallows* ... so... he didn't... get caught? Or, hurt? Maitho: *shakes his head* Not that I'm aware of. When he left... was a foggy time for me. I was in withdrawals. Resa: *Exhales slowly* Okay. Good. Maitho: Yes, I imagine he's fine. He's a survivor... if not one with a lot of guilt. Resa: *annnnd now she's angry again* Oh why would he, everyone blows up a hospital when their girlfriend gets arrested. Maitho: *He stabs into his burger a little more violently than he intended.* Perhaps they don't, but while for us it was only yesterday, it's been over two years since it happened now. Those families.. .while they might not have moved on, I would hope they are living their own lives now. Resa: Yeah. *When did he start talking like they were comrades? Oh, he's good.* *She takes a bite of potato* Last I heard, he had a Wiseman on his tail. He... got some information from me, so I was worried. Maitho: That's the first I've heard of it... but there's not much we can do about it now. *He does wonder if Dimitri didn't do something to James' mind as well. To keep him and them safe.* It's behind us now, Resa. Resa: You can say that. But you can't know for sure. *she finishes her potato, wondering what he's working up to* Maitho: Maybe not... but it's still possible for us to disappear, isn't it? Resa: *sits back, looking at him* You want me to arrange for that? Maitho: Maybe not yet... but I would like to have it on stand-by. I have two in tow, my brother and my son, but if you give me a price figure, I'll see about matching it. Resa: *shrugs* I can't arrange for it myself. But I can ask around. How did you know I could do this when you asked me to meet you? Maitho: I didn't, but you already agreed to look into it. You've grown up a lot, nothing quite like that fiery girl with all the answers that I used to know. Resa: You didn't know me. *And he wasn't a friend, this was just business. She can't understand why she's a bit disappointed by that.* So what did you want me for, originally? *smiles* Not for those 'services' of yours, I hope? Maitho: *He finishes up his food and sets the plate aside.* I suppose I didn't, no, and unfortunately for you, no, I wasn't trying to pick you up for my services. I'm not a streetwalker. Resa: *chuckles* I don't hire people like that. Maitho: I'm not surprised or offended. Resa: What, because I'm a 'little girl'? *raises an eyebrow* Maitho: Partially... but the other part is I've heard you're not quite alone. Resa: *blushes* ...what? Maitho: Seems that mechanic is quite the ladies' man. Maitho: Or does he prefer being called an artist? Resa: *Shakes her head - perhaps too quickly* You've got the wrong idea, I just needed to hide for a long time. Maitho: Mmhmm. *teasing tone* And what better place than with a young man to keep you company. Resa: *She's managed to shrug it off a bit* Just convenient. Maitho: If you insist. Resa: *sighs* You've been looking into me more than I thought - was there anything I told you that you didn't know? Maitho: Not much, but there was enough to confirm what I did know. Resa: Anyone I should be avoiding? Maitho: Other than our mutual "friends?" No, not as far as I can tell... although avoid Fire and Ice as much as you can. That pirate radio station is rather suspicious if you ask me. Resa: I caught the tail end of that - don't suppose you know either of the girls on there? *Her first thought was that they'd hired an impostor on both counts, but she's seen Ellie around Sage's place.* Maitho: The person I owe to is hiding one of them. Maitho: That's all I know. I wasn't put on the task of keeping an ear out for her sake. Resa: So it was real at least. But I'm not stupid enough to talk on air when there are still people after me. Probably. Maitho: Oh, I feel the same way... but people make mistakes. Just be sure you're not one of them, but I probably don't need to tell you. Resa: You don't. I'm not looking to get locked up again. *Pauses, and snorts* Does that make me sound like western hero or something? Maitho: Makes you sound like you're worried, but I admit that I often am as well. *It's something he doesn't share with anyone... even Price. Especially not Price.* If you ever want to have some quiet time, come to the Cat Corner. *He smiles.* And no, I don't mean to do business. Resa: Why would you... ? *she's puzzled* Maitho: Because everyone needs to get away from time to time, and I'm trying to figure out who are my true allies. Resa: Even though I badmouthed your- um, Aidric? You didn't seem so much of a fan last time. Maitho: That was last time. *quietly* And I did try to speak to Val on your behalf... but I'm guessing that his assurances were yet another one of his pretty lies. Resa: He never mentioned you, but what did you ask....? *She's sensitive to what she says here, not knowing what Val did to him* Maitho: ...that he find a way to keep you, and Louisa, from facing any harm. You were both too young for that, much as I disliked you then. Resa: *smiles* Well, he did stop me from starving myself. And most of what was done to me was Jester and Alexa. He never threatened me with any harm. Maitho: Even so. *He looks angry, but it's not directed at her.* You were harmed, weren't you? Resa: .... I could show you. But yes. Not... tortured. But hurt. I can't fly anymore. Maitho: You can't... fly? That sounds like it would be torture for someone like you. Resa: Not at the moment. I'll get better. But my muscles are torn and like rubber bands, a scarred, weak mess. Maitho: ...all right. I will have to take your word on that, never having been exactly one to use wings myself. Resa: But you've obviously been injured before. *Meaning his facial scars, and she may have noticed a limp* Things take time to heal. And when I'm working with air currents and all of my weight at once, they can tear again very easily. Maitho: Yes, but I don't mind my injuries. *He rolls up on of his sleeves to show the thin lines Haydn made where the leather straps were during his withdrawals.* I'm not a healthy man, Resa, you know this. Resa: *Reaches over and gives his hand a quick squeeze - she's not sure, it was just a compulsion* I know - it's probably better to not mind them, better than obsessing over every little ding. Maitho: *He was surprised at the contact, but his current work in prostitution has made him much less apt to get alarmed.**He rolls his sleeve back down.* The only ones I concern myself with are those that actually mean something. Resa: Like? *She's honestly curious, none of her injuries mean anything but the circumstances behind getting them. Gunshot wounds. Surgical scars. Small burns...* Maitho: *He traces his tear scars, not wearing makeup that day, and smiles.* These were from my brother, at the time only an inmate under orders. I got the 'E' off of my face, but that was from Val under a different identity. There are other scars as well from that time, but those stay with me in my mind. The ones I just showed you were done upon my request, however. Resa: Well that's... weird. But better than getting something big without having a choice about it. Maitho: I needed to get them to teach someone a lesson. I don't take kindly to be retrained, for better or worse. Resa: But who does that hurt? Maitho: Not me... but I can assure you, he thinks of it every time he sees them. Resa: 'He'? Maitho: Price. He's been through addiction before, so he thought it would be best to tie me down until the withdrawals passed. Resa: *flinches* ... ouch. Maitho: I can't say I'm mad at him anymore, but it was worth it. Resa: *quietly* I hate him for tying me down.*referring to Valentine* Maitho: *shakes his head* I understand why he did it, and while I hated him then, it was nothing compared to what I did to him in the beginning. We've had our share of fights. Resa: You've a funny way of getting back at people. I just punch them. Maitho: I don't have a strong enough arm for that, I'm afraid, and the only reason I'm poisoning him is so he builds an immunity to it. Resa: ... you're what now. Maitho: *smiles* Little by little, a pinch here in his drink, a dash there in his food... Sometimes I put it in his soaps too. Resa: *Glances at her chips* Should I be worried? Maitho: Did you see me touch your food? Resa: *Grins* No but I wouldn't be surprised if you paid the waiter off. Maitho: *amused* Fried foods don't make for good poisonings, I'm afraid. Resa: I'll keep that in mind. Maitho: As you should. Resa: *Mock pouts* I'm still on your list? After all this? I thought I'd buttered you up enough. Maitho: More than enough, but one should always be cautious with people like me. Resa: Considering my job - don't get on the Jabberwocky's bad side, he might send me after you~ Maitho: As if I would risk doing that. As long as my own employer doesn't get too full of himself, I'm fine. Just the clean-up crew. Resa: You're a maid? That must be... um, revolting. Maitho: *That honestly gets a laugh out of him.* No no... I'm doing most likely the same thing you're doing. Just without a gun. Here. *He gets up from the table and hands her back her wallet.* You pay, and I'll show you what I'm talking about. Resa: *sighs and places some money on the table* I'm not going to have to hide a body am I? Maitho: No, I've got someone else for that. My brother and I dispose of a lot of them ourselves too, so I would never need your help in that regard. Resa: I notice you don't deny the 'body' part. *Whistles again and Grey gets up outside* Maitho: Of course not, it's me. *He starts for one of the news stands, tucked just inside a doorway. A woman still wearing her bathrobe sits behind the wood counter, reading a magazine. When she glances up and sees Maitho, she looks a little confused.**He recognizes the silence, and he nods.* Don't worry, Ms. Kravitz. I just wanted to show my friend here some of the headlines from a few weeks ago. You know the ones. Ms. Kravitz: *She nods and reaches under the counter to pass him the clippings.* ...I thought it was too early for my "rent" to be up. *She has a man's voice.* Just take those damn clips away from here, sweethearts. I ain't got no time for your shit today. Maitho: Of course. Resa: *Well that was baffling. She kept her hands in her pockets while Grey sniffed curiously at the woman's array of chocolate bars - though she clicked her tongue at him when he made to grab one, and seized him by the scruff when he ignored her* No boy. *She didn't expect the woman to be... what was it? Trans-something? Crossdresser? Whatever. But all sorts of odd stuff went down around here so she shouldn't be surprised.* Why doesn't she just burn the things if they're so troublesome? Maitho: *He presses them into Resa's chest.* I wanted to hold onto them, but I knew it would be stupid to keep them on my person. When you're done with them, then we can burn the evidence. *The clippings are all about the various murders he and Haydn have committed together. Skinnings, scalpings, posings... all manner of gruesome "art" put on display for Val's viewing.* Resa: *She skims over them, eventually managing to put enough details together to figure out the patterns* Since when did you turn into a bible thumper? Maitho: I'm not. God wants nothing with me, I'm sure, but he is Val's favorite "person" as it were. Resa: ...mmm, clever. That'd definitely get to him, he's so... particular about not getting blood on his hands. *She flicks through* Who were these people? Maitho: *He frowns.* I would have hoped it'd get to him... but nothing. Not even a whisper of interest. As for who they were, none of them mattered. Not even the last. Resa: A woman? *Turns a page* ... that is weird. In her house? .... her bed? *Gives him a look* ....Maitho... Maitho: ...if you want to lecture me about it, let's get back off the street. I'll show you where I live if you want. Resa: No. I just- you didn't.....? Maitho: *quietly* No, I didn't. Not that. I don't have it in me to do that. Resa: .... okay. *folds them away* Maitho: It's nothing. *shakes his head* Just forget about it. Resa: No. I'm just glad you didn't- murder I get but... rape is- well it doesn't seem like you at all. Maitho: It isn't. I can't say I didn't consider it, but no, even after what happened, she didn't deserve that. Resa: So you knew her? Maitho: Mmm, once. Yes. Resa: So it was a personal thing? I get it. Maitho: *nods* I'm glad you do. *sighs* That's all I've been up to on that front, however. Rather disappointing. Resa: That's quite a body count for 'that's all.' Maitho: Perhaps, but it doesn't feel like it used to. Resa: Too... dramatic? Impersonal? Maitho: Cold and calculated. Resa: And it wasn't before? Maitho: No, it was sympathy before. Resa: Hmm. I can't relate - the people I kill I don't even know. They're trying to kill me - I kill them instead. Or I'm told to. Maitho: That's fine. You're doing it to survive, even if that means pleasing someone else, but I'm trying to find my humanity. *chuckles* Or something of that nature? Resa: You're a human, so you have humanity. It's really not that complicated. If anything murder makes you more human. Maitho: I do hope that dog keeps an eye on you then. Resa: You think people are gonna go revenge crazy on me? Maitho: No, but I have to worry for your mind. That's all. Resa: He's... well I picked him up a week ago. I'll be okay as long as he can bite Valentine in the bum when he gets here. *Shoots her dog a grin - but he just stares* Maitho: If you insist. Resa: I won't stay out here forever. Maitho: Out here? Resa: *gestures* In the streets, air, free. Somewhere along the line something is going to happen. Where are you taking me? Maitho: .... *He blinks, having gotten used to being in the open.* Fine, follow me if you want to. *He starts for the busier parts of the red light district.* It just gets more crowded from here. Resa: I won't get lost. Maitho: *He leads the way for Resa, not really slowing down for her sake or anything.* Resa: *She weaves through the crowd fairly easily, now carrying Grey because while she thinks he'd be able to find her, he's still a puppy and could get trampled on* Maitho: *He finally comes to the Cat Corner, its statues glistening in the light of day, and leads her up the steps. He unlocks the door for them.* No one but us... and possibly my brother and son are here during the day. We don't have enough people working to stay open twenty-four hours. You'll be fine. Resa: *She's never been inside a brothel before - maybe that should change, maybe Maitho could teach her how to blend in.... something to bear in mind* Well I guess people who hire you are into men... so that could be a problem. Maitho: *chuckles* ...not entirely. Some quite like me as a woman although I don't have the "right" parts for it. *When he lets her in, he locks the door behind them.**Princess, the fat Persian, is sound asleep on the counter.* Make yourself at home... in the waiting room if you prefer. It's clean. Resa: Not taking me up to your room~? Or you need to freshen up first? *Sits on the couch, holding Grey extra tight as he spotted Princess.* *She wonders if the puns are starting to irritate him.* Maitho: Haydn might be sleeping up there. *He sits down on the couch opposite her.* I'm "fresh" enough if you wouldn't mind having fun in front of the bay windows. Resa: Depends, you charging? Maitho: Not unless you prefer me in a dress. Resa: Not really. I mean it wouldn't bother me. But weren't you supposed to be gay? *tilts her head* Maitho: Being only one sexuality doesn't pay well. *There's more to it, but he's not ready to confront it.* I do what I have to. Resa: I wouldn't ask you. Don't worry. Besides - there's a couple of roadblocks. Maitho: *smiles* Funny how you keep talking about this when that wasn't why I invited you over here. Resa: It's kind of hard not to. Maitho: Aren't I bit too old for you? *only teasing**He reaches into his pocket for a cigarette... and after a pause, he offers her one.* I don't believe you smoked then, but things change. We all do. Resa: *shrugs* I'm twenty two. What is that - ten years difference? Seems ridiculous I can drink, drive, and kill people - but not be with someone older. Nah, I don't smoke - but I'd be happy to take you out for a drink sometime just as... allies? Friends? Whatever you want to call it. Maitho: ...we'll have to see. I don't often have time at night, but if you come in the morning, we can arrange something. Resa: Up to you. I don't mean to force you out or anything. *sets Grey on the floor and plants her boot directly between him and the cat* Princess: *yawns and stretches out even further* Maitho: You wouldn't be forcing me out, just making a stronger business connection. Resa: That's not what it was. Maitho: A date then? Resa: Not that either. I was just kidding. Maitho: A shame. *doesn't sound like it* In any case, you know where I'll be living... and here. *He reaches into his back pocket for his wallet... which is empty save for a bunch of business cards.**He reaches across the space between them and hands her one.**It's a soft lilac color with Miss Fortune in purple calligraphy on the front, and on the back is a number.* If you have trouble finding me when you need me, just call Miss Fortune. Resa: *She takes the card, looking it over before tucking it away* I'll talk to Lotta and see if I can arrange that thing for you. But it's a backburner plan right? Maitho: Yes, so there's no hurry. My son has business of his own to handle, and my brother isn't interested in moving just yet. Things are fine as they are... for now. I just want another plan in case that changes. Resa: Got it. Is there anywhere you want to go? Or is it just disappearing? Maitho: Just disappearing. I plan to die in this city one day, but I can't until those two are safe. *smiles* As far as we've gone so far, they're safest with me. Resa: *She wonders if that means he's suicidal - but it's best to leave it* I'll get back to you when I can. Maitho: Very good. If it doesn't work out, though, don't worry about it. I'm sure we have more to offer each other. Resa: I'll try. Edited by Shio, Apr 2 2014, 09:14 PM.
