Well, as usual with Rory's dreams, he made a suggestion and everyone quickly followed it without acknowledgement. Ah, he hated that part of these dreams. ".. Whatever, I guess I'll start setting up a camp," Rory muttered, his Agumon scratching his chin in thought as he wondered what was troubling his partner, "Don't eat just any berries you find, bring all potential foodstuff back here for identification." Rory was going to add more when another blond boy came walking up, giving a small salute. "... Ah, another one. Still no homicidal subconscious portrayal of my mother... this is turning into a moderately okay dream," he mused, giving a small nod to the other newcomer before returning to his tablet. "Jeeez . . . Why do you children have to be like this?" Kasumi pouted, an altogether pretty damn cute expression for her. She was trying to look out for the young ones, but they just wouldn't listen. Sighing, she put her candy back in her pocket and turned to look at Tyson. "Looks like we're rather stuck with splitting up. Since most of the young girls insist on looking around, can I trust you to guard the ones here while I help keep an eye on the other ones? I know you're not the biggest fan of splitting up, but I don't think we have much of a choice at the moment." |

Just as the one set of humans and digimon were about to leave to explore a bit, a strange light began to glow from their digivices followed closely by a voice of a woman. "Greetings young champions from the human world.. I am Ophanimon. It pains me to have to bring you to the Digital World on such short notice.. but we desperately need your help." The woman's voice spoke. It was a soft, gentle voice.. but one that the children could feel was full of sadness. "An ancient evil has awakened once again and we need your help to seal it.. Here on File Island, you'll encounter a minion of that evil.. please defeat it and bring peace back to this land." "Ophanimon..? What's wrong? Why do you sound so sad..?" Lilly asked, frowning at her digivice. "It is because.. we ourselves are sealed within prisons and cannot help you. We are using our combined energies to send you this message.. but soon I fear we will be found out and cut off.." Ophanimon replies, then pauses. "If any of you have any questions.. now is the time to ask. I will try to answer them all as swiftly as I am able." |

For a long moment, Sean doesn't speak. It's hard to read their expression - somewhere between sheer conflict and deep sadness - but finally it settles down, and something about them changes, just shifts, like there's suddenly a different person there. When they do speak, their voice is suddenly masculine, to match the new way they're carrying themselves. "... understood." |

Amon's head was getting a bit dizzy trying to catch up with the current plan. Some wanted to split up, stay, set up camp, apparently nobody could decide on what exactly to do. Soon enough, he'd likely have to pick a side and either split off or hang out at camp. He wasn't quite sure what he thought was best at the moment, so he decided to defer the situation to his future self. A glow came from his Digivice, followed by a voice. He brought it up and stared at it, willing it to make sense. This was only getting weirder and weirder. A sad sounding woman explained how they were champions here to save the world, how they should proceed and gave time for Q and A. Alright. Finally, something he could work with. "Can you tell us about the enemy we're about to face? What we can expect?" |

Tyson couldn't help but feel a bit restless. The minds and personalities and egos all clashed at once and it left a bunch of confusion in it's wake. With fingers pressed to the corners of his eyes Ty tried to think but it was too difficult with all the chatter going on currently. Not only that but he felt uneasy about something but couldn't put his finger on it. But his thoughts were interrupted when someone spoke to him directly, asking him to keep the camp and an eye out for those who stayed. Tyson nodded and was about to open his mouth when something beeped in his pocked. Pulling out his Digivice Xros loader, he looked at the tiny screen and heard the same message everyone else had. Tyson thought for a moment, his impulse was to ask how to leave and how to get back to their home but something made him feel safe while looking at his screen. It was a strange feeling to feel so trustworthy without much reason. With a firm voice, Tyson asked an important question. "If we do this. If we stop the evil or whatever. Can we go back home? I got baseball practice this weekend so..." |

"The enemy on this island.. is a digimon by the name of Neodevimon." Ophanimon spoke softly. One could mentally imagine her frowning while she speaks. "He also had a companion.. but I don't know what form she's taken recently." Lilith mentally cursed at this angel's information, how did she already know she was dispatched to kill the chosen children? If she's revealed here while she's still tied to a Tamer.. well that could be bad. "I have a question." Joe spoke up after a long silence. "Why don't I have a digimon like the others? I only encountered a weird statue.. totem.. thing and it went inside my digivice." "Chosen warrior, you are one that doesn't need a digimon to fight as you collect the spirits of the legendary warriors to fight with." Ophanimon replies. "Just remember the words, 'Spirit Evolution'." As for Tyson's question, Ophanimon began to speak again. "Yes, once you solve what's plaguing the digital world, you'll be able to go home once again." "So... we just defeat the bad guys or something? That's pretty easy I guess but I mean, it's not like we have that much experience with that. Can we have some advice? Words of encouragement? A map? Anything? Mint candies?" Claire pauses and frowns. "B-breakfast? I've not had any breakfast today. I'm hungry." |

"Ouch!" Shima woke with a start as something sharp jabbed her in the side, going from sound sleep to full consciousness in the span of a second and shooting straight up into a sitting position. Unfortunately for her waker, that wasn't the only motion she made, a clenched fist swinging out to that side and cracking them directly on the nose. Now, Shima had cracked quite a few noses in her time, and she knew as soon as she made contact that something weird was going on. "Yow! What's the big idea?!" What...in the hell...was that? She'd apparently just thumped a big furry blue...thing on the snout, though luckily it seemed more hurt than upset by the action. It stared into her face, inquisitive; an observer might have noted that both pairs of eyes were precisely the same color. "I...sorry. You surprised me." It looked like an animal, but at least it sounded like a human, so apologizing wasn't quite as awkward as she might have expected. Still...a quick glance around revealed that she was definitely not where she had fallen asleep, which - she remembered with an inward groan - must have been at her desk. Again. And she didn't seem to be dreaming. "You're, uh...who?" She mentally amended the query with 'and what'. "Dorumon!" The thing's mouth curled up in a facsimile of a smile, revealing rows of triangular teeth, slightly yellowed: it (he? Sounded like a he) was clearly a carnivore. "I'm a digimon!" Cue blank stare. "Look, just come on, there are other humans nearby, we'll fill you all in at once!" The thing - digimon - pushed at Shima's back with his snout, urging her to her feet. "Okay, I'm going, I'm going! Geez..." As promised, they shortly met up with the other children, arriving just in time to hear an explanation of where, exactly, they had ended up. And it wasn't encouraging. They were stuck here with these...digimon...and god knew what else, and for how long? About three steps into their journey Shima had discovered the little device clipped to her waist when she felt it bounce against her hip (Dorumon claimed to have forgotten to mention it), a thing they were calling a digivice. And then it came time to make a group decision, and all hell broke loose. She took up a spot leaning against a tree, staying clear of the flying egos; impulsive as she might have been, she also knew some battles couldn't be won. Her partner gazed up at her questioningly. "Shouldn't we, er...weigh in? Give an opinion? Something?" She shrugged. "Nah. They'll figure it out." And so they did, the congregation splintering into a scouting party and a group who favored making camp. But before they could part ways, they were interrupted by a signal on their new digivices, with someone apparently named 'Ophanimon' delivering some much-needed plot exposition. She settled in for Q&A time, interesting in seeing what was on the other kids' minds. At least now they had a purpose here... |

Rory listened quietly to the voice on the end of the digivices, taking note of the questions asked. He was a bit disappointed that no one asked something amusing, but at the same time, he was the only one that'd know it was a dream. It was HIS dream, after all, they were just characters of his subconscious. "Got it. Then what do we use for sustenance? Shelter? What local fauna is dangerous, what local flora is edible, the usual important survival questions," he listed off, not sounding too sold into it as he asked away. "I mean, if you expect a bunch of children to survive an apparent wilderness with hostile presence in it, we should probably know some facts about our environment, right?" "Hey, we're still here, you know, the digimon who LIVE in this area and all?" the Agumon said in annoyance. What, the kid would ask for the opinion of some dumb voice but not the living, breathing, talking creatures around him?! Edited by AnonymousGuemon, Aug 16 2014, 06:33 PM.

"I'm sorry I cannot give much in terms of help of the physical kind.. but your digimon should be able to help you survive the trials to come." Ophanimon spoke, her voice beginning to break up. "My time with you is shortened now that they've realized we're communicating with you.. Only by forming close bonds will you triumph where the ones before you failed.." As she spoke, her voice grew fuzzier and fuzzier as if static was interfering with the transmission. "Please.. defeat.. M.....mon.. before he... in power..." Her voice was breaking up now and they couldn't hear all of what she was trying to say. "Seek us... in server... there.... answers you seek.." The static overwhelms the connection and the light dims from their digivices, returning them to normal. Lilly stands up and nods to the others. "We've got a long journey ahead of us.. but I know that together we'll be able to stand up to the threat plaguing this world." Lilly speaks to the group. "Ophanimon must've had faith that we could do it or else we wouldn't be here!" "Alright. I'm gonna take a group to go scout for food. Like the yellow dino said, they've lived here longer than us.. we should be fine in taking their advice on what's okay to eat." Joe says as he sighs and runs a hand through his hair. "I'll SUGGEST that Tyson take the other group and try and find some sort of shelter for everyone before it gets dark." That was Joe trying to be diplomatic towards his perceived rival. |

Emii listened to the entire message with curiosity. She glanced over at Ein and tilted her head. "Do you know about this?" she asked. "Pfffffffh. No. It's too boring to pay attention to politics and stuff. I just go around taking down virus-types and training! And the best type of training is always brawling!" the Monodramon boasted and sniffed the air. Suddenly, the dragon-type Digimon froze as he got a scent of something. It smelled like targets. His eyes seemed to glanced around as he finally began to pay attention to the creatures around him. "All right. Who let them join us!?" the vaccine digimon growled as he pointed to new arrival, Dorumon, and the cat-like Lilith. His gaze then turned to ToyAgumon before snorting. "Oh, I should have known you'd be like them." he continued before he felt some pressure on his horn. " Wha...GAH! The Monodramon only had time to yelp as Emii grabbed the dragon by the horn and literally used it as a lever to pull his head back. "Behave! That type of attitude is not how a sidekick, a partner of a Hero of Justice, is supposed to act!" the smallest girl of the bunch scolded. |

((OOC: Go find your own thread you thrill seeking adventure types!)) Tyson watched as the groups split into two and he groaned inwardly about how bad this felt. He couldn't shake the feeling of dread when the group finally decided firmly on splitting up. What was more, this entire situation was going to give him reasons to stay up late and think about things. He wasn't so sure he believed the explanation about partners, Digital Worlds, or fate or destiny or anything. He was pretty sure it wasn't a dream and he did feel abnormally calm and accepting of the Digimon he woke up to, but he couldn't shake the feeling that this was by far the weirdest story he'd ever tell anyone. He worried about his life back home. Would his parents notice he was missing when they woke up? They would probably just assume he was out practicing or just staying at some friend's houses or something like he normally would. But personal life had to take a back seat right now as Tyson turned his back to the group that had just left and faced the group that had remained. "Alright guys. Our job is to find somewhere to safe to camp out. Let's stick close and see if we can find something." He paused for a moment to scan the area they had currently taken up. Some mountains were off to on side but he couldn't see passed a group of trees but hoped it was something other than more trees. Were they even trees? Some of them looked right, others looked strange. "I need someone to climb up one of these trees for a better look around. If we can find something to use as shelter we can go there. Otherwise we could check out those mountains for a cave or something. I'm pretty sure my big Digisaur could beat up a bear or two." Tyson wasn't much for taking a vote or leaving the decision making to younger kids, so he called the shots and hoped no one was dumb enough to pick a fight. On the bright side, the snooty guy was gone and hopefully that was the end of butting heads for now. "Oh. Right. My name is Tyson, you guys should also introduce yourselves so everyone is at least on a first name basis." |

The group was pretty dysfunctional, it seemed. Several of the Digimon seemed to have small scuffles with each other, which came as a surprise to Amon. He just assumed that most of them would have met or known each other prior. Regardless, the group had made the decision to split off, one for food and one for shelter. Not really knowing anyone made the decision come down to what he'd prefer to do. Well, finding a safe place seemed a lot more interesting than finding something to eat, though he was sure he'd regret that decision once hunger set in. Either way, the two groups had a leader picked out, both older boys. He didn't feel strongly towards either one; he felt their egos were a little out of control. No matter though, pissing match or not, if everyone cooperated(mostly), it was better for them all. Amon joined the shelter group, sizing up the leader. Tyson, huh? "My name is Amon. It's a pleasure to meet you all." Tyson requested someone to climb a tree, but Amon was a step ahead. He gave a slight bump of his head to Nalu, who was sitting on his shoulder; "You can take care of this." Nalu gave a nod before taking flight, soaring off above the tree line, turning in all directions and taking in a lay of the land. He came back down, resting on Amon's head. "If we hug the base of the mountain, it's more forest. Towards the north there's a savannah, and to the south is a smaller mountain range. Possibly caves, but I can't see. To the west, all I can see is sand." Amon smiled; "So do we put it to a vote? Brave the savannah or check for caves?" Edited by Dreamy, Aug 19 2014, 04:18 PM.

So...that was it, then. They were now officially cut off from their only source of information which was not an oversized furry woodland creature, a talking housepet, or a cartoon dinosaur. Even so, the group as a whole seemed fairly unperturbed by the whole situation beyond the immediate concerns of food and shelter. For some reason she couldn't explain, Shima felt the same sort of sensation; she wasn't nearly as worried as she probably should have been.
The smarmy little dragon's interjection cut her off before she had a chance to comment on their situation, pointing a finger directly at the scarred girl and her new partner. While her brow merely furrowed in annoyance, Dorumon seemed to take greater offense at the words and gesture, releasing a low, throaty snarl in response. The situation was diffused as quickly as it arose, however, another child - she must have been the one paired with him - giving the dragon both a physical and verbal scolding. Shima couldn't really tell, but she suspected the expression on Dorumon's face was something akin to a smug grin. After a moment's deliberation, part of the group split off in search of food, leaving the others to find shelter for the night; Shima had decided to stay with Tyson's group and make camp. She approached the boys Amon and Tyson at the suggestion they introduce themselves, giving her own greeting in turn...if you could call it that. "Shima." She gave Tyson a hard looking-over, sizing him up in a totally different way than Amon had done. Even without words, it was something of a challenge to the older boy; clearly, she had her doubts about his capacity as their 'leader', and her expression dared him to screw it up even once. The girl abruptly spun on her heel, suddenly becoming much more talkative even though her back was to the group. "Based on what we know, we should head for the mountains to the south. The savannah would put us out in the open, and we have no idea who or what is watching." |

Tyson watched with eyes full of wonder when the little orange furry marshmallow took flight with it's huge ears and floated up into the sky without issue. He couldn't help but be amazed that it could fly, but then again with ears that big it kinda made sense. He wondered if it could hear his thoughts thanks to the huge ears. He brushed the thought off as the camp group came together and started introducing themselves. This seemed about right, everyone wanted to run off to their doom and get slaughtered in the vast unknown instead of finding camp. But it seemed like Joe wasn't the only one who wanted to butt heads with him, a girl this time seemed to challenge him with her eyes. He didn't like it, but it fired him up a bit. If only they knew how big of a deal he was back home. With a hand clutching his stomach, he knew that eating was important but he truly felt like this was the right decision and with resolve he silenced the feeling of hunger in his gut. "I dunno if the plan is that simple. Shoving ourselves into a cave with our backs to the wall is just as dangerous as putting ourselves out in the open. Both have advantages and disadvantages." It held true. If they picked the wide open plains, they could run away, scatter, and see what was coming easier. It left the possibility of being surrounded though. The caved seemed nice thanks to natural shelter and the bottle neck of stopping things from just crushing them with numbers. He let out a sigh and rubbed his head. "With creatures as big as that guy-" He jerked his thumb at the large Triceratops, "Whatever cave we find HAS to be large enough for our whole group plus him. We can't just count the humans in this. It has to be big enough for all of us. Finding enough wood and materials for protected on the Savannah seems like a lot more work. So let's head over to the south and try to find something where we can all fit." Tyson gave one more look to the grounds they all landed in before producing a pocket knife from his back pocket and etching something into a nearby "tree". The bark was so soft and not what he expected and his knife carved out the letters fairly fast. After a few moments he pocketed his knife and turned back to the group. "Alright. Is everyone ready to head out?" Monochromon slowly pushing himself up before stretching and producing a belly deep loud yawn while Kotemon hopped up on it's back and whacked it with the bamboo sword a few times. The Big Digimon didn't even notice as he stood waiting for Tyson to lead the way. The tree had a very simple mark on it. A large square with the word "Start" carved in the middle. For Tyson, it was simply a mark so he knew the exact place they had all arrived in. Just in case they needed to come back for any reason. Edited by Caster Shells, Aug 19 2014, 11:37 PM.

"If I may speak up on the matter," Rory raised his voice as he joined the remaining members, "our top priority should be a cave as shelter. Such a shelter will force any threat to only come from one direction, as well as protect us from any bad weather or surveillance if our enemy has such an ability. We'll have to search the cave though, make sure we don't end up with some giant monster inside it... I imagine that finding something that fits the needs of all of our little party will be easy enough, as well." Pausing, he looked at the older kids, feeling as if he forgot something. But what could it be? "... Oh, I'm Dr. Rory Nikolaevsky, by the way. My PhDs are mostly in engineering and science, mind you, but as I mentioned I have some survival experience. If you all wouldn't mind being the brawn, I'm rather overqualified to be the brain." That'd make for an excellent first impression. The Agumon tied to the kid genius sighed quietly, trying to cover his face with his hands as he watched the boy try and intermingle with the other three. It was pretty hard to watch, really, but it's not like he could rephrase the kid's words to make him sound like less of a showoff, or something. Edited by AnonymousGuemon, Aug 20 2014, 08:44 PM.

It seemed like they were all gearing up and ready to go, tension in the air not-withstanding. The burned girl and Tyson didn't seem to get along. Amon wasn't sure exactly what either of the had a bug in their bonnet for, but he was ready to advocate for peace and friendship if the fire ignited. Before they could leave though, a small voice spoke up. It seemed none of them had noticed the little ankle biter that was stationed with their little party. Even more, he seemed to be smart for his age. Like, stupidly so. Still, his ego left a lot to be desired. Brains can only account for so much, age brings experience and wisdom, something he was sure the boy wouldn't understand. "And what if the cave we find is unstable and we don't know it? Or if we hit a pocket of poison gas? There's a lot of pros and cons for anything we choose. You might be smart kid, but there's more to life and survival than just brain power. And that's in the real world, we have no idea what this world might throw at us. We're already looking at strange little creatures, we can't be sure that everything will play by rules we expect." Amon didn't have a problem with the kid or his brains, but he didn't want anyone thinking they were ahead of the game when they were all clearly very clueless about their environment. |

Lilly, who decided to stay behind due to the fact that both groups were even and she didn't know which to pick. So in the end, she decided to stay with Tyson's group. "I guess it doesn't matter where we go as we can still keep track of each other.." Lilly spoke with a small smile. "But the caves sound fine by me.. though shouldn't we collect firewood along the way?" Lilith sighed as she listened to this group. Honestly she had hoped Lilly would pick the other group, but she doubted she'd listen to her suggestions. However, she did notice some of the other kids that were with them slip away while everyone was talking. She wondered where they were going, but knew if she tried to leave she'd get whipped by Lilly. |

The group they'd been left with to find shelter was...quite something, Shima would have been forced to admit. Herself; the self-confident leader, Tyson; the nice kid, Amon; the know-it-all, Rory; and the seemingly aimless girl, Lilly. They'd be lucky if they weren't all digichow by nightfall, the question of whether digimon would even be interested in eating them nonwithstanding. Looking back over her shoulder with her good eye, Shima addressed the group as a whole. "We'll figure out the details on the way. Talking doesn't get us any closer to those mountains." Having delivered her words in the tone of an ultimatum, she started off in the direction that the little orange guy had indicated was south. Tyson may have meant to goad the rest of the children into moving with his show of being ready to leave, but she had a feeling they'd still be there all day unless someone just started walking. And she certainly had no desire to stand in the middle of a forest and debate any longer. Looking between his human's rapidly retreating back and the rest of the kids, Dorumon gave them something of a shrug and turned to follow Shima. They were partners now...even if she was a little rough around the edges. |
