Amon was impressed with himself and his partner. The card worked, Nalu fired a ferocious attack, and Amon was sure they could win. At least, until he got to see first hand that size and appearance don't mean a whole lot in the Digiworld. The tiny Mikemon swatted away the raging blast of flame like it was a toy ball, and left Amon's mouth agape. What now? Worse still, was if the tiny one was so strong, what about the giant dinos? The enemy girl taunted them, appropriately. It seemed she wasn't ordering her own partners to attack though, instead delegating to two darktyrannomon.

Amon scoffed, Digimon empress, huh? He was a VGHS student, he was in the bussiness of winning. He needed to do his job and show her what was up. He stared down at his two remaining cards, thinking it over. It wasn't long for him to come up with an idea.

"Nalu, go high!" He pointed up above the tyrano who was busy fighting with Kotemon.

Nalu nodded and took off flapping up and up, until he was far out of reach of the battle. Amon selected his card and brought his Digivice to bear again.

"DIGIMODIFY! Metal enhancement activate!" Once more, he tore the card through the shining light of the digivice's reader.

It was metal mario time. Metal coating shone over Nalu, culminating in some wicked shades on his eyes. In seconds, the weight caught up to him and he pulled his legs and wings in, plunging in terminal speed towards the head of the darktyrannomon who was fighting kotemon; he had turned himself into living artillery!

Putting on a burst of speed in response to the DarkTyrannomon's attack, Dorumon hit the dirt as the flames bore down on it. The 'mon tumbled out of the fireball's far side a moment later, rolling roughly to its feet in complete disregard of the scorched patches of fur that now mottled its coat. Seemed as though it was going to take more than a bit of fire to stop him!

"Dino Tooth!" He made a lunge at his target, closing the final bit of distance between himself and the Tyrannomon and sinking his teeth into the creature's shin. Bracing himself against the ground, the smaller 'mon pulled with everything he had, intent on toppling the big beast or to die trying.

Making a concerned noise at the sight of Dorumon engulfed in flame, Shima felt a pang of relief as the digimon emerged mostly unscathed and performed a counterattack. She couldn't just let him fight off the gigantic dinosaur alone; if she was able to distract their master, maybe the tyrannomon would back off. But she'd never reach the girl through the sudden chaos. Or...could she? Her thoughts were interrupted by a bellowing roar from behind as one of Tyson's partners, the Monochromon, came charging in her direction. What she was about to do was either courageous, stupid, or both.

Waiting until the big digimon was about to pass her by, Shima leapt at Rocky, grabbing hold of the stony protrusions of the dino's carapace and holding on for dear life. She pulled herself up on his back after a brief struggle, managing to rise into a standing pose once she got into the rhythm of his thundering footsteps. And he was carrying her exactly where she needed to go...directly at the girl and her digimon!

Rory sighed as the group went on the offensive, Tyson tasking the initiator of this battle with taking care of him. It was a thought that, while slightly comforting to know that he'd have someone covering him, he wasn't very comfortable with.

"... Theo, I suppose we must prove our merit here. Cover our little impromptu leader, would you?" he asked of the small lizard, getting an enthusiastic nod.

"Got it! Pepper Breath!" Quickly, the Agumon shot out a blast of fire at the legs of the pursuing digimon, hoping to trip it up so Theo could catch up as Rory brought his digivice up in front of him.

"Well, let's give this digivolve thing a try while we're at it!" he said, standing there with a slightly smug look on his face. As nothing happened in the preceding seconds that passed, Rory's usual scowl slowly returned, and he looked over at the giggling form of Alice.

"Nope! I told you, this is MY Wonderland, so I make the rules here! Around me, you won't be able to use that trick!" she announced, waving at Rory before focusing on the advancing Rocky and Shima, her own smug grin growing. "But being the rulemaker means nothing if one can't break their own rules, right? Chesh!"

"On it," the Mikemon took on a stance, preparing for the giant champion Digimon's advance as Alice showed off her own little surprise; a digivice, albeit one of a different design than most of their's, and entirely black.

"If you honestly plan on challenging my reign, you better be prepared for quite the upset! Chesh, digivolve!" The Mikemon was enveloped in light, the data making it up reconfiguring into something bigger. Something definitely not good.

"Mikemon! Digivolve to Bastemon!" For a brief moment they caught a glimpse of the newly-digivolved creature before the Keramon next to Alice, still cackling away, blew out a cloud of dark smoke at the charging duo; the perfect smokescreen to confuse them and allow Bastemon to move in, stopping the charge with impressive strength while grappling Rocky's head and twisting to flip him off his feet, hopefully even onto his back, before escaping the poisonous cloud.

"Honestly, I'm not sure why you're so violently opposed to me, but I'm quite happy we got this out of the way now. I do hate it when there's unfinished business in the air!" the little girl announced, giggling at the scene before her. "Chesh, continue your defense. If they're really serious about attacking a queen, I suppose their heads can go... I'd really rather we not go that route just yet, but if they insist, don't hold back." Chesh's new, long claws seemed to be the perfect instrument for Alice's warning as she awaited another challenger.

Kotemon couldn't help but feel a bit puffed up. He whacked it. He whacked it GOOD. He was making pretty good progress against something so much bigger than him. It's too bad he was born a Kotemon and not something bigger and stronger like his buddy had been, but in the end he wasn't too upset about it all. At least he looked good when he preformed. This time, instead of fire, his bamboo sword held a small static charge that seemed to come from his fist. With a small and very unintimidating roar, it slashed through the air and sent a static wave of electricity right at the big dark dino's face with a shout of "Thunder! Kote!" The attack might not have been enough to take it down, but hopefully it could buy some time for the Patamon that was about to bring down the house with that heavy slam from above.

As for Monochromon, it charged right passed the duo of Shima and her partner and didn't even notice it had a hitchhiker on it's back. The charge was coming, like hundreds of thousands horseback warriors charging together, the ground shook beneath it as small stones and pebbles shook free and scattered in its wake along with dust. The smokescreen blew over the pair and did nothing but stop Monochromon from being able to see. But then something did stop him.

"Got'ya"

Something grabbed his face and stopped his charge. Oh yeah, they stopped his charge with ease and it would have been pretty upsetting. Except there is one thing about the head of a Monochromon.

"VOLCANIC STRIKE!" His maw opened wide and shot forth a large ball of pure energy. Monochromon looked like a big dumb dinosaur who only knew how to charge, but that was far from the case. Despite being a small and nimble kitty cat, he had seen that instead of moving the girl out of the way of the fireball from Patamon, the Mikemon deflected it. It was the muscle. While it didn't predict the divivolution, he did predict it stopping his charge head on. That was all he needed. Something cocky enough to try and face him head on.

He didn't get away without some damage though. His pullback from the smokescreen was a quick displacement and not a full retreat. In truth, having his charge stopped head on caused a bit of pain but he would for sure shake it off and keep buying time. The problem was, none of them expected a Digivolution from the already strong Mikemon and they were still horribly outnumbered. Monochromon was good at fighting, but not the best at formulating a team play.

Tyson leapt over a fallen tree as his feet carried him faster and faster. He might have been an all star and great at running, but out running a giant t-rex wasn't something he could just do. Thankfully he seemed to be smaller and able to dart between trees and that helped him from getting chomped in one bite. Thankfully, his speed and longer legs meant that it didn't take him long to catch up to Lily and her partner. As he dashed onto the scene he spyed just Lily, but assumed her partner couldn't have gotten far. With a wide eyed look of shock and seriousness he stopped for a second, but not to catch his breath, but to try and figure out if he could carry Lily and still outrun the Tyrannomon. He doubted it. Even if she was small and he was strong enough to do it, he wasn't sure if they could escape the t rex. He realized how glad he was to at least see that she was okay and not taken prisoner or splattered across the ground or something. But in his haste to find her and formulate plans, he realized he had just stood there like a moron for a few seconds. Tyson finally opened his mouth. "We're being attacked. One of them is chasing me, where is your partner? We need to get ready to fight, and then group back up with the others."

This time, the Darktyrannomon was ready for Kotemon as it blocked with its arm upon sensing it attack again. It backhanded Kotemon away from him while turning to face him. What he didn't see was the speeding mortar shell that was Patamon hurtling towards him from above! With a sickening crunch, the Darktyrannomon's head was cracked open as its body dissolved into data. Should Patamon desire, he could load the data into himself.

As for the Darktyrannomon that was attacking Dorumon, it snarled as the smaller dino bit into its leg and swatted him away with one of his large claws like one would do to a fly. Nevertheless, the damage was done and it was a bit injured. Seeing that its brethren was being taken out made the remaining Darktyrannomon move to attack as well! Looks like the small group was being slowly outnumbered!

The pepper breath attack served to make the Darktyrannomon chasing Tyson to give pause and turn around. Well.. it got the Darktyrannomon's attention! Roaring, the digimon charged back towards Theo, intending on trampling the poor dino.

"Tyson! What are you doing here? What's going on?" Lilly asked as she watched him stand there for a few seconds silently. Finally he answered and told her what happened. Turning to the nearby bush, Lilly yelled to her partner. "Times up Lilith! We have to go! Now!"

"Gimmie just another few minutes!" Called back Lilith, hoping to stall the girl just a little longer. She REALLY didn't wanna let Mikemon and Alice see her tied to a human. As she was thinking that, there was a sharp pain stinging her in the back! "OW!"

A few more came after that one, making the black and purple cat leap to attention and finally emerge from the bush. "OKAY OKAY! Lay off the whip!" She grumbled, blushing as she rubbed her backside. She hated to admit it but it kinda.. just kinda.. felt good.

"Okay, lead the way Tyson!" Lilly spoke as they headed back towards the others. Lilith was really not looking forward to this.

Amon watched as Nalu shot like a meteor down at the large dino, crossing his fingers that his little partner didn't miss. When he collided, Amon had a whirl of emotion. Part of him was sickened at seeing the dino's head being crushed, part of him was relieved that it hit, and a large part of him was cheering that the dino disintegrated. Nalu froze in the crater for a moment, sucking in the floating data of the darktyrannomon. When he finished, the gravity of the impact hit him, and he became mildly disoriented for the moment. The metal armor peeled away in bits of data, leaving a shaken Nalu behind.

His relief soon turned to frustration as it seemed the remaining Darktyrannomon would be joining the fray to avenge their fallen comrade. They were certainly in a pickle now. Looking around, he could see everyone fighting for their lives. Even worse still, the enemy girl had digivolved her digimon so easily, adding even more to their plate. It seemed they were quickly running out of options. He kept near Rory, prepared to try and whisk him away if things turned sour.

When Nalu finally reoriented himself and shook off the brewing pain all over himself, he turned on the new challengers. He hoped the evolved digimon were still susceptible to a bit of confusion. He hunched down, a rainbow glow forming around him, then blasting out at the darktyrannomon. While not necessarily a powerful attack, he hoped it would seep in and cause some disaray.

The DarkTyrannomon's blow sent Dorumon tumbling, the smaller dino gritting his teeth against a wave of pain as he came to rest in a tangled pile. The powerful hit had drawn a trio of gashes across the digimon's back, already slick with blood. Damn... Struggling to his feet with a wince, he caught sight of the oncoming foes; one down, even more to go, and he himself was in pretty sad shape all of a sudden. But maybe...

"Hey! You, with the face! Metal Cannon!" He shouted up at one of the DarkTyrannomon just joining the fight, aiming an iron projectile to thunk the beast cleanly on the chin. He took off at a hobbling run, hoofing it toward the opponent who'd just whacked him and aiming to run directly between the dino's ankles. If these guys were anywhere near as stupid as they were large, he should be able to entice some friendly fire, provided he didn't get stomped first.

Rocky's charge may have been brought to a halt, but inertia kept Shima moving, the girl sent flying off the Monochromon's back and sailing through the smokescreen before hitting a mercifully soft patch of ground and tumbling to a stop. The pungent smoke caused her to cough violently for a moment as her lungs cleared before she could scramble to her feet. She was in luck; she'd come out on the far side of the cloud, and though she could hear the two digimon still brawling inside, her attention was elsewhere. Only a short distance remained between she and Alice now, the only thing potentially stopping her from clobbering the brat being her other partner. Shima was willing to take her chances.

"C'mere!" She charged at the other girl, fist raised, clearly intent on inflicting bodily harm.

Theo stared at the charging Darktyrannomon with a confident (or as confident as one can tell on a lizard's face) expression, continuing to launch Pepper Breath after Pepper Breath at the ground ahead of him, eventually hitting the Champion level's feet and legs. After a few more shots, he fired oncemore at the ground ahead of him before backing up. This caught Rory's attention, causing the boy to look over at his partner's work.

"... Oh, that's actually inventive." As the Darktyrannomon continued its charge, its feet crushed the damaged sections of ground, destabilizing the rest a bit further until it finally gave way as it neared its charge, hopefully something that would trip it up and let the smaller Agumon slip past. This wasn't a way to win, but this at least bought some more time for their backup.

"Are you hard of hearing? Or did you just ignore my warning?" Alice called out to the charging Shima, looking not at all impressed by her antics, "Do you have such a death wish that you'd honestly attack even after my warning? I'm not to blame for what happens next!" Keramon continued its unsettling giggle as it reached out, grabbing Alice by the collar, and extended its arm to move her further away from the approaching threat. Oncemore, a large cloud of poisonous gas was sprayed at Shima, creating a fog around her and allowing Keramon to retreat back to Alice's side.

Chesh was outside the new cloud, having been tossed out of it by the momentum of the Volcanic Strike earlier (an attack that resulted in a whiff of burnt hair smell and a grunt of annoyance), claws clicking against each other as she prepared for the cloud to disperse and reveal her prey. It would be quick and painless, that much she would give the ballsy girl. The fog faded somewhat, and Chesh caught sight of Shima, jumping towards her with the intent on landing a fatal blow!

They didn't have time for this. The little black kitty needed to pinch it off and hurry up. There was a small fight going on and yet they were here trying to do their business. But Lily was all over it. Tyson felt a little weird about the whip, yet he wasn't about to tell someone how they should or shouldn't treat their partners. Whats more, he was sure lion tamers used whips to keep those big kitties in line, maybe this was something similar. Either way it got the job done and the trio were ready to move. With quick feet and a sharp mind, Tyson started to lead the way back to the group. They couldn't turn directly around and follow the path he came from, something had stomped after him. So he led Lilly and her partner a bit off the path in order to loop around and get back to the main group, albeit a bit off from where they had originally started.

Kotemon was busy working with Patamon to KO one of the big Dinos. Apart, it was going to be hard to take down these Champions all on their own in their current forms. Luckily, the combined confusion let Patamon crash down on one of the big guys, and now it was Kotemon's turn to springboard off of one of his pals distractions to land a big blow of his own. When Agumon tripped up one of the D.Tyrannomon, Kotemon took it as his chance to land a home run. Just like he had seen Tyson do, the little one gripped the bamboo sword and charged the big champion level. With a big hop and a big swing...

"HOMERUNNN!!!" The bamboo sword screeched to life as it made solid contact with the snout of the t rex. The homerun slam was sure to, at the very least, show off that Kotemon was not just all talk.

On the other end of Tyson's partnerlist. Monochromon's tactic worked. It was rough to take such a hit and he knew it wouldn't be the end of the fight. But if he could just keep it busy, then maybe the rest of the group could peel down the other threats. It shook it's head and ended up getting vision just long enough to see the attack from the Beastmon. If that landed, the girl was dead. That wasn't what Tyson would want and it wasn't what Rocky wanted either. Maybe his hide could take the blow? He wasn't sure honestly. He had already been wounded a bit and he wouldn't have time to curl up to take the hit.

He didn't have time to think any longer. His feet pounded the ground hard and fast as he roared to life again. His bellow was loud and proud, easily pulling attention to himself from anything within earshot. As the Beastmon closed in on Shima, Monochromon closed in on it. With a heavy dive, the large dinosaur put his large body directly between Shima and the Beastmon's sharp claws. They sunk in deep.

Tyson had just burst through the woods, jumping over a fallen digi-tree as he made it back to the fight. With a quick glance around the field, he seen that his team was making some progress. It only took one glance at Monochromon to see that something was wrong. The hair on Tyson's neck stood up and anger and pain flowed through him instantly. With the same determination that he had earlier, he started to race towards Monochromon, forgetting Lily and her partner, Amon and Patamon, Rory, and even his own safety as he tried to make it to his partner. It wasn't like he knew him long but he could still feel the bond that had already formed in his heart.

Monochromon tried to push itself up as the Beastmon pulled her claws out. It fell back to the ground with a thud, dust flying out from underneath it. It made a low growling noise as it's body started to vanish. Starting at it's tail and quickly working it's way up. Tyson couldn't believe it. He wasn't even going to get to say good bye. Hell, he barely got to say hello. "ROCKY! Hang on man I'm almost there!" What could he even do!? He pulled the stupid digivice from his pocket as he ran across the field trying to make it before the Digimon vanished.

The Monochromon made another growl. His body was all but gone, just his upper torso remained full while the rest of streams of data. "Thank you. Tyson." it muttered something before the rest of his body faded away into data. Tyson slid on his knees, making it to where Monochromon used to be. He could still see it's indent in the dirt around him. Pounding a fist into the ground and cursing loudly, Tyson let his emotions show as he knew he was too late to even say his goodbyes. Instead of being sucked up by the one who landed the killing blow or dispersing across the Digital World, Rocky's data was sucked into Tyson's Digivice instead, but it was honestly the last thing on his mind.

Tyson shot a glare sideways at the Beastmon. The one who took his partner away. It wasn't the smart thing to do though and he knew that. He stood up and pocketed the Digivice with a heavy heart. He grabbed Shima by the sleeve of her shirt and gave her a look. He was not in the mood to argue. "We're going to pull back. Come on."

Tyson had finally gotten everyone together again and it was just a matter of fending off the crowd of Trex and looking for an escape point. He joined back up with Amon and Rory and hoped Lily was making her way to them as well. Once they all arrived he shook his head. He wanted to yell at them and make sure they understood that THEY caused this. But instead he pulled his emotions back to try and formulate a plan.

"We need to clear a path so we can run. The caves aren't a good idea right now so let's head through the forest. These big guys had trouble catching me and if we run, at least Rocky's death wont be for nothing." He wasn't sure if this was the best plan, but honestly they just needed to cut down a few more enemies so they could make a clean escape.

Kotemon was torn up by the loss of his buddy, but thanks to his shadowed face and the mask, you couldn't tell. It didn't chip in anything to Tyson's plan or make any snarky remarks. Instead it simply went on the attack like Tyson had wanted, sending electric bolts from the tip of his sword at the Tyrannomon closest to them to try and keep them at bay.

The two Darktyrannomon Dorumon was preoccupied with indeed took his crafty bait. After one was hit with the metal cannon, it tracked him and fired a fireball at his companion's legs, which made it roar in pain and turn to charge the Darktyrannomon. Dorumon didn't have time to capitalize as he'd notice the danger his partner was in!

Pausing at the outskirts of the woods once they arrived, Lilly watched as Tyson's digimon saved the girl, Shima from certain death! Tyson ran to the digimon's side and felt a sharp pain in her heart as the digimon faded. No.. NO NO NO! This was not happening! This wasn't how it went!

"Lilith. Take them down." Lilly spoke rather abruptly and quite harshly. She was leaving no room to argue by the tone of her voice. Lilith glanced over at Alice, Keramon, and Bastemon hesitantly, wondering what they'd think of her taking out some of their minions. Lilith didn't have time to think on this for more than a few seconds before Lilly assailed her with the whip. "DO IT! DO IT NOW!"

A dark pulse seemed to come from Lilly's digivice as Lilith was shocked by the girl's brutality; it seemed as if she were a different person now and she figured out that she knew why. In a life or death situation, it tended to draw out what a person really was on the inside. The energy whip strikes hurt, but she was waiting for a different reaction. "WHY WON'T YOU LISTEN TO ME?! GET OUT THERE DAMN YOU!" Lilly screamed, her irises dilating to small dots as she finally saw her digivice acting weird. "Is this what you want?! TAKE IT! MY LOVE, MY ANGER, AND ALL OF MY SORROW! EVOLVE! BLACKTAILMON!"

Lilith couldn't hide her smile.. this was just what she needed not to get caught. As the dark power overwhelmed her, she could feel herself evolving! In a flash of black energy, Lilith emerged from the forest as Ladydevimon. Much to the shock of all those around her, including Lilly, Ladydevimon wasted no time in getting down to business. "Darkness wave!" Yelled the dark digimon as a wave of bats attacked the two Darktyrannomon that Dorumon was currently preoccupied with. In a flash they were destroyed.

The Darktyrannomon that Agumon and Kotemon both were fighting went down with a thud, stunned from being hit in a sensitive place. The rainbow colored blast that Patamon fired did indeed cause discord while the remaining digimon scurried around to try and land a hit on the fast moving Ladydevimon. It seemed as if they found their escape route! Lilly ran over to the others, looking pale and drained. "We need.. to go.. now..!" She managed to get out, the dark glow from her digivice still spewing outwards.

Everything was happening so fast, so intense. Amon's joy over his triumph turned to nausea and horror as it appeared Shima was going to be ripped open by Beastmon. When monochromon was hit and took her place in death, he wasn't sure if it was a relief or even more horrifying that it still resulted in one of them not going home. Panic was flooding him. They'd been fighting for survival, but he hadn't passed the idea that they might lose and now it was being displayed right to his face. His eyes fluttered across the battlefield, taking count of things. Until that cat monster joined the fight, they'd been okay. Might even have had the upper hand, but now it was looking grim.

Tyson was pulling himself together and calling for an escape route, but Lilly had different plans. She called upon her digimon to fight, then whipped her for not immediately springing to action, then brutally continued and screamed. She was frightening, in a way. But what was more frightening, was watching the dark energy take her digimon and turn it into a bigger, malicious monster, much like the cat monster. Mixing in with their fighting digimon, the black witch obliterated the foes in their path, giving them ample time to escape. He grabbed Rory's arm and took off at a run, mingling with the others and running. He beckoned Nalu to follow, who caught up swiftly.

"Is everyone okay?"

It was a crass, but necessary question. He knew it was not what Tyson wanted to hear.

The uplifting sensation Dorumon experienced at seeing his plan succeeded turned to dread in an instant as he caught sight of Shima's predicament. It felt like he'd swallowed one of his own cannonballs, a heavy weight in the pit of his stomach; it seemed to drag him down, preventing him from dashing to her rescue no matter how hard he tried. In reality, the little dino was moving faster than he'd ever moved in his life, but it was an impossible task to reach his partner, and all he could do was shout out to her.

"SHIMA!"

Gritting her teeth and steeling herself to dive into the cloud of gas separating her from Alice, Shima instead wheeled around at the digimon's cry just in time to catch sight of Bastemon bearing down on her. She froze, eyes going wide. Fear...it was not an emotion the girl was accustomed to, and it rooted her in place as her subconscious got stuck somewhere deciding between fight and flight. But before Alice's partner could land the killing blow, Rocky interjected himself between the two, claws sinking deep into the digimon's stony hide.

"No!" The outburst seemed to partially unfreeze her, but all she could do was watch as Rocky began dissolving into data, Tyson rushing to his partner's side to comfort him. Dorumon arrived at her side in the same moment, sliding to a halt between Bastemon and the two children and snarling at the humanoid cat digimon. The message was clear; she'd have to go through him as well if she wanted to make another attempt on their lives.

Quote:

"We're going to pull back. Come on."

She nodded, still numb, and with only a moment's hesitation turned and started to run, Dorumon following close behind. She barely registered Lilith's digivolution and the resulting carnage, simply sprinting blindly away into the forest after the others...

Bastemon remained quiet as it delivered the fatal blow, jumping back over to Alice's side oncemore. She made no attempt to attack again, only silently watching the group as they reformed and retreated. Though, that Ladydevimon had her a bit on edge.

"I warned her," Alice muttered, glaring angrily at Shima. "I WARNED her, but she didn't listen! ... Well, maybe he'll get a Skullgreymon this time...? ... Hmph, let them go, I've lost interest in them for now," Alice called out, only to thrust a finger at their retreating forms.

"Do NOT forget this! This is MY Wonderland, and those who wish to exist within it must bow their head to me!" she announced, a confident smile on her face as she lined her finger up with Shima's retreating back. "When you're ready to do so, feel free to come out of your self-imposed exile to the forest!"

Once the group stopped, Rory, winded from all the running, managed to pull his arm free of Amon.

"Well... T-That... that didn't go so well for us..." he said, Theo finally catching up to him.

"She's not good news for us, though we kind of asked for that," the digimon added, looking at Amon and Shima with a slightly bothered look. Sure, Amon had protected Rory, but because of them, their chance for a peaceful conclusion...!

"... There's no sense crying over a thrown fight," Rory finally said, shrugging before turning towards Tyson. "Tyson, was it? Your friend... I'm sorry for your loss, but I was focused on where his body was going, and he may not be lost yet. ... Maybe, I-I've yet to do a full study on these digivices as I'd like to, but..."

The group had safely made it far enough away where the group had moved to a halt. Tyson had pent up rage and energy and probably could have run a lot longer, but he was the tail of the group and when they had decided they were far enough away, Tyson couldn't really argue. They were probably safe out here. Hopefully. As the group stopped to catch their breath and heavy breaths turned to talking, Tyson just walked a few feet off from the rest of the group. Close enough where everyone was still in ear shot but clearly he didn't want anyone to touch him or even get close. He rubbed at the back of his neck right his left hand as his right pressed up against a tree and pushed at it. It was solid, but it looked like it had soft bark and with a few test presses he knew it wasn't going to break his hand. He was mad, but not stupid. His right hand balled into a fist and he took a swing at the tree. Once. Twice. And a third hook for good measure before letting out a low curse under his breath. The anger felt nice to give into and his energy started spilling over and released just like he had wanted.

Tyson wasn't about to yell at his friends or let his anger control his thought process. Now that he was done getting his anger out, he turned to the group, one of which had specifically spoken to him. "Rory is right. It happens. At least we all know what kind of things we're dealing with." He paused, looking to everyone in the group and giving them all a small and warm smile. Tyson held no grudges and while the air might need to be cleared later on, this would have to do for now. "Let's take a short break. Catch our breaths and tend to any injuries we have. After we're recharged we can start looking for some shelter." Tyson was putting on his bravest face possible. He knew that everyone was probably expecting him to be mad or maybe even upset. He was. But the fact of the matter was that a weak link in a chain causes harm and could send the group into a downward spiral. If he let his emotions consume him, then he would be doing more harm to the already stretched thin group. Kotemon was silent the entire time, obviously it's mood had changed of that from a happy and loud Digimon to something that almost felt eerie as it looked around quietly from behind it's shadowed face with those bright glowing eyes.

Tyson leaned against the same tree he'd punched and slid down it for a rest. He wasn't really that tired physically but the rest would do him good and would expend less energy. If they didn't eat tonight then he might need his energy to run away again. "I think we should avoid fighting for a bit and only if our backs are against the wall. Without..." He paused. It was a lot more difficult to say than he had thought it would be when he was going over his words in his head. "It'll be a bit harder without Rocky and everyone put up a really good fight but I bet they're all just as drained as we are." With a solemn expression he looked in no particular direction. "Once we're stronger though, we can take the fight to them. We can track her down and get some answers out of her. Maybe she has something to do with that Evil that's spreading across the Digital World." Tyson had said his piece and with that leaned his head against the tree. He didn't think it would hurt so much losing someone he had just met. But it was like a light had gone out somewhere deep inside of him. These really weren't just pets that randomly found them. He felt a bond with them that inexplicably bound them together in a way that he hadn't felt with most humans. It was warm, albeit less so now that Rocky was gone.

Lilly was looking rather pale as she dropped to her knees the moment everyone stopped running. She was shaking and she didn't know why. Where had all that anger come from..? That burst of viciousness? As if to make her feel worse, Ladydevimon flew in and landed beside her. "L-Lilith..?" She murmurs as if looking upon this form for the first time.

"Why so sad, Lilly? That was a wonderful dark evolution! Exactly what I needed to clean things up." She spoke, kneeling beside her master and cupping Lilly's face with her hand. "Hoora~ You did nothing wrong.. infact, you did exactly what needed to be done. There's nothing to fear from the power of darkness.."

"Nothing.. to.. f-NO! That's not right! What I did was wrong!" Lilly spoke, shaking her head on the verge of tears as the dark pulse of her digivice finally died down and went back to normal. At the same time, Ladydevimon tch's as she too devolves to a lesser form. One Plotmon. "I'm sorry Lilith, I shouldn't have hurt you like that.."

"Tch.. damn.. was hoping I'd stay as Ladydevimon." Lilith grumbles as Lilly picks her up, much to her surprise. "H-Hey! Put me down! I- Ooooh~" She began to say until Lilly begins rubbing her belly. "Oh yess.. this pleases me.."

The fight was over, with one last taunt from Alice as they ran with their tail between their legs, they escaped. It was clear the battle had left everyone with a sour taste in their mouth. Amon felt bad, for sure, that he had started the battle, but he wasn't convinced that it could be avoided. Bloodthirsty Shima would have done it if he hadn't, and things might have played out even worse. As it was, Nalu managed to triumph over one of the dinos, and Lilith even more so. It seemed they weren't helpless, they COULD fight back, they just needed more time to grow and understand, it would seem.

Still, what troubled him most was being beaten by someone that wasn't their final enemy on the island. He hadn't seen a neo-devimon in their ranks, so Alice was the first in the way to their goal, and they hadn't even beaten her. It wasn't a good feeling. Still, seeing Lilith digivolve, even in such a twisted way, it gave him hope that the rest of them could do the same and overcome the enemy.

Still, for now the sting of loss hung over them. For now, they needed to figure things out. That didn't stop him from grabbing Nalu and giving him a great big ol' hug though.

"If we're careful, we can still loop around and make it to the mountainside and find some caves. We aren't that far off."

Stopping to catch her breath with the rest of the kids, Shima wandered somewhat aimlessly to the edge of the group as her breathing returned to normal, staring off into the trees. But she wasn't looking at the forest, or even searching for any pursuers; the girl's mind was somewhere else. Her expression changed suddenly, face contorted in anger as she seemed to snap straight from listlessness to rage, fingernails digging into her palms as her fists clenched painfully tight.

I'll kill her. I'll kill that bitch. When I get my hands on her I'm gonna...I'm gonna..I'll...!

"Shima...?" While he might have been incapable of hearing her internal monologue, Shima's body language told Dorumon enough to make him worry about his partner's well-being. The little dino gingerly placed a paw on her shoulder as he spoke, and the contact hit her like an electric current; you would have sworn Shima had stuck her finger in a socket, the girl sucking in a big gasp of air and jumping slightly. The touch bridged the gap between reality and wherever she'd been, bringing her back to their current situation. She swayed slightly with sudden exhaustion, leaning on her partner and registering that he'd been injured for the first time.

"Your back...!" While the 'mon's fur was still slicked down with ichor, the wounds had already closed to begin healing. It seemed that digimon were quick healers, though she couldn't quite wrap her head around something composed of data also being a flesh-and-blood creature. Dorumon made a shrugging motion, just happy she seemed to have snapped out of that self-destructive rage. "I'll heal, don't worry about it."

Not entirely willing to take the dino's words to heart, Shima realized there wasn't much point to fussing over him all the same. Instead, she turned her attention back to the rest of the group, unsure of their new path...

"I say we go meet up with the others, since they might've gotten attacked too!" Lilly speaks while absently stroking Lilith. "Also I think it'd be a bad idea to go back in the direction that girl is for now since she may be watching those directions around her."

"Either way, the decision's left up to Tyson since he's our leader." Lilly says, looking around at the group. They did okay.. but they weren't prepared for meeting what looked like the final boss so soon! Ophanimon never spoke of any other humans in the digital world! Lilly wondered what was going on here.

Caster Shells

Tyson was in deep thought for a moment. The best option, he thought was to honestly find some shelter. He hated to run back to the rest of the group with nothing to show but some bruises and black eyes. With a mental sigh, he knew that he didn't want to look at the smug face of Joe knowing that he "lost" and was coming back empty handed. He tried to swallow his pride but it burped right back up. He wanted nothing more than to at least find some good shelter before meeting back with the other kids.

He struggled internally for quite some time. He wanted to go and avenge his pride by at least finding shelter. At the same time, he knew their fighting strength was currently low and it was possible the other kids got attacked as well. He felt a small twang of pride knowing he was probably right in thinking that splitting up was a terrible idea in the first place. Finally he nodded his head.

"Alright, that's a fair compromise. We just lost a fight and our punishment may be sleeping outside on the ground tonight. We will have to make do with the hand we played. Does anyone know how to use their Digivice to track the others?"

It looked like the decision was made, abandon the mission and find the rest of their group. Had they run into problems too? Were they safe? There was safety in numbers right? He definitely felt like it was probably the right choice. So, with everyone's unanimous agreement, they began the trek back.
