Probably one of the best tidbits of news I've heard in awhile is that Rage Against the Machine is reuniting for a one time show at the Coachella festival in April. Several possibilites arise....

1.) the end of Audioslave: with Cornell focusing on a solo project for 2007, we may see this "supergroup" fade away for awhile or for good. I don't really care that much anymore about them. First record was pretty good but it just went down from there.

2.) Full tour from Rage, which is possible, but I don't think likely. Zach de la Rocha has been damn near a recluse for 7 years since the demise of Rage so I see that as an indication that he's just having fun.

3.) New album from Rage, another unlikely scenario. But if 1.) happens, and they click well, then 2.) will happen and possibly an album to follow. Don't know how I'd feel about that since I think Rage were important for their time but their impact may not be as profound anymore. Anything they produce now will ultimately be questioned, and torn apart by critics and fans.

Besides...there are a lot of bands being political and while Rage was a huge band in the 90's, their popularity is still huge but I don't think big enough to garner a new album. It's kind of like At the Drive-In, only better.

Any one else a fan of Rage? I was really big into them back in the 90's but that's someone disolved.

What dude are you crazy? I totally think theirs enough fans for a successful new RATM album. I'd love to see to see a re-united Rage agasint the Machine perform! The only good song AudioSlave have made that I've heard is Be yourself.

I really, really, really don't like Rage agains the Machine. I haven't heard much, but they really turned me off when they tried to cover Springsteen's "Ghost of Tom Joad".
