Welcome to the next edition of Torched Down. I am Torch, the host…as if you didn’t know. Crazy folks. Anyway, I have a treat for you this week. This guy is a funny, crazy, tough son of a bitch. He’s a good buddy of mine, and possibly Schitzophrenic…but we still like him just the same. Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you, Mr. Action, Mr. King of the Deathmatch…Craig Lovecraft. Posted Image Burning Stats Real Name: Curtis Taylor Hometown: Lakefield, Ontario, Canada Age: 20 Song of the Moment: I have 4. Default - Count On Me, The Offspring - Can't Repeat, Oasis - Wonderwall, Staind - Right Here Band(s): Our Lady Peace and Counting Crows are my favorite. Job/level in school: Garage door installer. We install them, do repair work, etc. We also do windows and regular entrance doors. Favorite Hobbies: Video Games, watching wrestling, looking up interesting facts about wrestling, tv shows, etc (am I cool or what? lol) TV Shows: Angel, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Smallville, Heroes, RAW Movie: Street Fighter (The one with Jean-Claude Van Damme and Raul Julia) --------------- Torch: Welcome Craig. It’s a pleasure to have you on Torched Down. I suppose the question I ask first is how did you find IW and why did you join the ECWF? Craig: Thanks Torch, it’s good to finally get my moment in the spotlight, lol. Well, I was looking for wrestling spoilers on Google one day because my friends and I were doing the WWE Fantasy game. So, I typed something in and it came up with a headline “Angle on Steroids”. So, I checked out the site, Impactwrestling, to read about Angle being on Steroids. (It was actually just Angle giving his opinion on steroids, but you know how they purposely give articles misleading headlines, lol). Anyways, the honest reason as to why I joined ECWF is because I had just dropped out of college and was taking a month off before getting a job. Basically, I was bored and needed something to do. So, I signed up under the name Nick “The Hero” Jackson and I had a match against Jimmy Lee. I was pathetic at promoing. I really had no idea what to do. It was one of those Got Rice Challenges or whatever they’re called. My first ever promo in ECWF was “Jimmy Lee, I accept your challenge.” So Nick got the shit beat out of him and that was it. I left ECWF after only one week. I did actually check back later and discovered that Nick had been used in a KOTD Championship match, which he lost. I didn’t return to ECWF until July, where I had much greater success under the stage name Sergeant Pain. Torch: Really? That’s quite the confession Craig. I applaud your bravery. Now, was the ECWF your first e-fed? Craig: Thanks, Torch. I figured since about half of the people in the fed already know, I might as well let Rob and Vlad in on the secret. No, ECWF wasn’t my first E-fed. The first E-fed I was in was a complete joke. It was on a site called www.gaia-online.com. Tons of people at my high school used it. It’s this anime style site where you create a little anime avatar guy and you earn money by posting comments, winning prizes, etc., and then you can buy them nice clothes and stuff. Yeah, I know, lame. But it was fun for a few months. Anyways, I was in this WWE e-fed where instead of writing promos, we’d just go straight to the matches. We’d take turns doing one move at a time and it would be up to your opponent to decide how badly your move would hurt them. Basically, the opponent would decide if his character was pinned for the 3 count or tapped out. Horrible. Anyways, I wrestled under the name Captain Awesome. And Awesome I was. I think I was the only undefeated wrestler in the entire place. (1-0, lol). But that site quickly went down hill and everyone I knew abandoned it. Torch: Not that I knew or anything…=). Wow, those feds make me glad that I’m here in the ECWF. So if you had Sarge, what made you create Craig? Craig: Yeah. ECWF is easily the best E-fed I’ve ever been in (Sorry, Kenua). Well, the reason why I decided to make Craig was because work was slow and I had the time to run two characters at once. Craig Lovecraft, like Sergeant Pain, was a wrestler I created in RAW 2. The RAW 2 character and the ECWF main eventer are so different. In RAW 2 and also at his start in ECWF, Craig was a comedy act. In RAW 2, he was an overweight, hairy chested, ugly wannabe, so I had to clean him up and make him presentable before he was brought into ECWF. He was originally just supposed to be for comic relief rather than the huge success he’s become. He was supposed to do things like read his promos off a script and screw up all the time. Women were going to beat the shit out of him, stuff like that. But the high council of ECWF decided to make Craig into a legend. So I had to drop the comedy and make him into a serious competitor. Torch: Someday, you will have the weight of the ECWF on your shoulders. You may just be the next Shane Warner. Speaking of good old Shane, what made you turn heel? Craig: Well, there’re a lot of reasons why I turned heel. First of all, Craig was constantly getting screwed out of wins; his knee injury when he teamed up with Texas Jack against Elements Redefined, and when he was eliminated from the battle royal, which Craig felt was unfair, also, the “lack of push” that Craig was receiving. Part of Craig’s new gimmick is that he’s sick of getting screwed out of wins, so I brought Zeus back as an enforcer to help him cheat his way to victory. Now, his little faction consists of Melissa (The hot girlfriend), Bobby (The assistant), Hector (The experienced manager) and Zeus (The muscle). Secondly, since as far back as I can remember, the only dominant heel in ECWF is Shane Warner. I felt that it would benefit the entire e-fed if one of the faces was to turn heel. It also gave me a brand new style of promoing. I no longer have to be the good guy and play nice. I can be as rude and disrespectful as I feel is necessary without suffering the moral consequences. Being heel is actually a lot of fun. My favorite part, obviously, is calling out Ratings Inc and taking repeated shots at them. But, of course, they all know that’s completely in character and I actually have the utmost respect for them. I have a feeling great things are headed my way in the near future, but I’m not entirely sure what they’ll lead to. As for being the next Shane Warner, I think I still have a lot to prove before I’m worthy of the title “Mr. Reality 2.0”. It’s fun to think about but there’re still guys ahead of me on the roster who’ll be getting the spotlight long before I do. Torch: I don't know Craig. You're going to be in some big spot light soon. I can feel it. Anyway, lets go back and talk about your KOTD win. How did it feel to win that title? And, almost more importantly, why did you choose Zeus to bring back? Craig: When I won the KOTD Championship from Texas Jack back in December, it was a great feeling. It showed that not only am I doing something right (promowise), but also that the creative team likes me. Also, the fact that when I won it and became the first e-fedder to be a triple champion in ECWF history was amazing. (Craig was the KOTD Champion and the Unholy Heroes were the ECWF and WNC Tag Team Champions, even though they never actually held the WNC Tag Titles for a real amount of time.) Sadly, I vowed to be the most fighting Champion in ECWF history, which didn’t work out quite as well as I had hoped. (Over 100 days as Champion and I’ve had 2 title defenses, lol) Now, why did I bring back Zeus? Well, let’s go back to why I brought Zeus in in the first place. Work was really slow and I had even more extra time to spend e-fedding. Zeus was a wrestler that I had created and wanted to use somehow. I finally decided to bring him into ECWF. Can anyone tell me if they knew it was obvious that when Zeus was online he was faking being from Greece? Zeus was supposed to be: A. A huge face wrestler who the fans loved. B. A dominant star and competitor on the upper card. Sadly, Zeus’s time in ECWF was short lived. Days after Zeus’s first card was posted, things really started picking up at work and I no longer had time to e-fed with 3 different wrestlers. Zeus was the obvious one to drop, so I asked Rock if Zeus could lose to Vlad and then be gone (Sorry Vlad). Now, things haven’t slowed down with work, but with Zeus as more of a background character and Sergeant Pain gone with injury, I have enough time to focus on Craig and get him to the main event picture. Zeus was merely brought back to serve as Craig’s bodyguard, such as Tomko and Steiner for Christian in TNA. Torch: I think it will put you over as a heel, pretty nicely. Speaking of, I think you are one of the first guys in a while to hold onto the KOTD title for more than one defense. Now, you said something about going into the main event. If you could go after another belt (Heavyweight excluded) which would you go after and why? Craig: Easy! I’d definitely go after Pete. I’ve been taking shots at him for weeks now and if I finally got my match with him, I think we could have an amazing feud. Look at all the stuff we’re already saying about each other, and we’ve yet to even step into the ring together, well Sarge did, but Craig hasn’t yet. It’d be really fun and I’d love to be the one to end Pete’s title reign. Even if Countdown was still part of it, with him being the #1 Contender and all, I think it would just add to the excitement and push all 3 of us to new limits. We’d all be able to prove how much we deserve to be in the main event. Torch: I don’t think anyone can argue that you deserve the main event, or that you and Pete could put on a hell of a show. Well Craig, it looks like our time is up. Is there anything else you would like to add? Any messages you want to send, Mr. KOTD? Craig: I’d just like to tell the lower card that sometimes to get what you want, you have to go ahead and reach for it yourself. Don’t always wait for it to come to you. But also don’t rush into it unless you think you’re ready. There’re a lot of people in ECWF who could be very successful but just need to make the extra effort and prove that they want to be here. And don’t forget to vote for Chris Hart’s Top 100 E-Feds! That’s about it. Thanks for having me on Torched Down. No Craig, thank YOU. You are a brave soul my friend, a brave soul.
