Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to Torched Down! The only interview segment that doesn’t seem to end in an all out brawl. I’m your host, Torch. This week, oh man. I have the guest of a lifetime. Let me tell you, I was thrilled when he said he wanted to be on Torched Down. This man is undoubtedly one of the most respected men on the roster. After a long wait for his return, the leader of the XWA is back, and with a purpose. Friends and enimies alike, I present to you, Fear Personified…VENOM.

Torch: Welcome Venom. It’s good to see you back. But I waste no time in question asking, so let’s start at the beginning. How did you find your way to the ECWF?

Venom: I was in e-feds on Impact long before the ECWF. I had built up a fairly good name for myself in feds like the NBWF and IPW…I think was the name of it, run by Cbo J Dubley. Maybe someone will remember what I’m talking about. Anyway, along the way, I met guys like Ackerman and WCW who showed me the ropes and pretty much acted as my mentors coming along. If I remember right, the ECWF began out of a semi-rebellion. They didn’t want to be a part of Modern Marvel’s NBWF, and the IPW or whatever was falling apart but no one would put it down. Anyway, I got started with the ECWF pretty much from day one. Wonder, I believe, is the one who told me I should join. I checked it out, and it looked as if they had a good thing going. A few days later, I signed up, and the rest is history.

Torch: The rest is indeed history, and history just keeps on making itself. You seemed to disappear for awhile when IW went down. What allowed you to come back?

Venom: Well, the fall of Impact Wrestling sorta just made me furious. I mean, we didn't NEED improvements, and the improvements made destroyed e-fedding on IW.com. So, I guess why I left originally is because of that. But then life happened. I started focusing hard on school and ended up with Salutetorian. But anyway, I just got busy. Now that school's over, and I've got the summer free, I knew I had to come back. Everything's just sorta cleared up. I had talked it over with Rock, and I've actually been around on the site for a little over a month or so, maybe more than that. I just wanted to wait until SOL, the greatest event of them all, to make my official return.

Torch: And what a return it was! I think one of the most important questions SOL left us with, is what is first for Venom? The tag team division perhaps?

Venom: No, Torch. Not this time. I've tried the tag team circuit before, and it just doesn't fill the void that I have right now. I think this time...I'm going for it all. I'm through playing second fiddle to ANYONE. I think it's time to go big.

Torch: I think Ackerman has the biggest, brightest X on his chest than anyone has ever known. Your return was also accompanied by Dave “The Paradigm ” Fisher, what are your thoughts on his coming back at SOL?

Venom: Well, I have mixed feelings about Dave Fisher. I like the guy personally, and I'm glad to see a few faces of old coming back to the ECWF. However, I couldn't help but feel a little...pushed aside by the Paradigm. You see, Stage of Legends was going to be Venom's night. But then I learned I had to share a return with Dave Fisher. Not exactly what I had in mind, but I guess it's just good enough to be back. But as far as Paradigm goes, he'd better not get in my way. I'm back with a purpose, and I don't care who I have to go through to get there.

Torch: So does that mean that Ackerman has double trouble to worry about? Or is your next victim someone else?

Venom: Well, Torch, I'm beginning slow. I have a huge match with Shane Warner on Monday, and I'm just going to take it one step at a time. As for Ackerman, I have no grudge with him. The only reason why he's even in my sights right now is because of the target he wears around his waist. It wouldn't matter who had it. Iron Man. Shane Warner. Matt Ackerman. It's all the same. I'm coming for the title, not for Ackerman.

Torch: And if and when you get a hold of the World title, how many would that mark for Venom?

Venom: It would be my very first in the ECWF. I've had many in other feds. I usually attract the Heavyweight championship of small, short-lived e-feds, so I don't really like to count those. But the ECWF Heavyweight Championship would outshine any of my accomplishments throughout my career.

Torch: Exactly how many e-feds have you been in?

Venom: Wow. Umm...oh goodness. Well, the main ones I'll take credit for are the ECWF, the XWA, the NBWF, the IHW, the XPW, and the ICZ. I've been in countless other small e-feds on Impact and even a few away from Impact entirely. It's just fun to see how everyone differs in running things.

Torch: You are a household name in the line of ‘work’ we do. So tell me, what prompted you to create the XWA?

Venom: Well, see, that's a common misconception. I didn't create the XWA. That credit goes to Modern Marvel. The XWA was his creation. I simply took on the duty after he decided to call it quits. I like to think of the XWA as my defining moment in this business, but I didn't create it.

Torch: Obviously, the XWA and the ECWF are run a bit differently. Without giving away too many secrets, what are some major differences?

Venom: I have to say that the ECWF is run way, WAY more organized than the XWA ever was. Of course, the XWA only had a couple of guys throwing out ideas. The ECWF has a handful of geniuses to work up a good show 100% of the time. Also, the ECWF Staff pretty much does e-fedding how it’s supposed to be. They go based purely on promos. Sometimes, I have to admit, I had a predetermined idea of how a feud would go. I focused more on the entertainment factor I guess rather than giving people what they had due. I guess that was my greatest flaw.

Torch: The XWA went on a hiatus once IW went down. Can we expect to see it up and running with the summer?

Venom: Oh man. *sighs* I'll just tell you, Torch, like I've told everyone else who's asked me. The XWA went down because of two things. Number one, the destruction of Impact Wrestling. That one is clear. There wasn't a person on Impact not effected by the 'improvements'. But the second was because life just caught up with me. I found it hard to plan, write, and generally oversee an e-fed. I did have alot of great help, don't get me wrong. I think any of the guys who ever wrote for me would've taken the XWA off my shoulders if I would've asked it of them. But I put a lot of burden on myself in the XWA. I wanted to be #1, and I don't know about anyone else's opinion, but I think we came very close. But anyway, I will say this. The XWA may have closed its doors for the time being, and 'the time being' could last a long, long time, but don't write off the XWA just yet. Someday, somewhere, way down the line, we could see another run for the Xtreme Wrestling Alliance. In the words of Hogan, "Never say never."

Torch: Shouldn’t that be, “Brother, never say never, brother” lol, sorry. Why don’t we step away from the actual companies we know and love, and go back to the monster Venom. How did you first come up with your gimmick?

Venom: I came up with the idea for Venom while I was filling out my very first contract, I think with the NBWF. I kept thinking about the Undertaker with his eyes rolled back, gritting his teeth. I've always been a huge Taker fan. He's probably my favorite of all time. I've always liked the 'monster' type characters (e.g. old school Kane, Boogeyman, Abyss). For a long time, that's what I saw Venom as - a pure monster. But as time went on, I adapted into a.....I don't know.....smarter character I guess is the best word for it, a Venom who doesn't HAVE to be walking through a graveyard at midnight to be scary.

Torch: The kind of Venom that will rip you apart, but not mindlessly, I’d say. So, what class would that put Venom in? Technical? Brawler? Whatever the hell he wants? Lol

Venom: **laughs** Yeah, that's pretty much the case. I guess I'd say mostly technical / brawler. I just switch it up depending on who I'm facing I guess or whatever situation I find myself in.

Torch: How has the original Venom transformed into the Venom we see today? Promo-wise.

Venom: Well, like I said, the Venom you see before you today isn't like the old Venom in that I've learned what it takes to honestly make a good promo. Back in the beginning, I could just say a few words about how scary I was, how much pain I was going to inflict, mention some gravestones and cobwebs, and I was finished. Well, I found out that it doesn't work like that, at least not for very long, not if you want to make it to the big-time. So I guess the main difference in Venom now and Venom a year or so ago is that Venom now knows what it takes and realizes that I have to break my opponent down in every way, shape, and form. I have to use my entire vocabulary to not only 'smack talk' but to also prove my point.

Torch: And obviously, you do a great job of that. Would you happen to have any words of wisdom for our up and coming batch of wrestlers?

Venom: I guess the main thing is just not to give up. With the exception of a rare few who pick this up when they first get here, nobody makes it big in the beginning. It takes time. You'll win some matches, and you'll probably lose your fair share as well. It's how it goes. Sometimes it's hard to deal with your defeats, especially when you think you should've won out, but the sooner you see that this is all just for fun, the better off you'll be.

Torch: Couldn’t have said it better myself. Well, I think this is the part where I would like to say thanks to Venom, for taking time to be here. Also, good luck with all things accompanied by your return. But I’m sure you wont need it. Any last words for anyone out there?

Venom: Not a whole lot, Torch. I'm just glad to be back, glad to see some old faces like Paradigm and even my friend Modern Marvel coming back where they belong - the ECWF. As for Ackerman, or whoever the champion may be, I'm coming for you. Venom is back....believe it.

Thank you for taking the time to do this interview, Venom. Now, on a separate note…I know this is normally where I plug the next week’s edition of Torched Down, but I can’t do that this time. Apparently, with the summer, my time has actually grown thinner for doing things like this. I have work and two e-feds to promo for and write matches for. So, forgive me if this next edition takes a while, much like this one did. But thank you for all the support over all these interviews. Somewhere, at some time, there will be mass amounts of Torched Down. Belee Dat playas.

I’m still wondering how anyone COULD pass it off as their own…hmm. Any questions can be answered in the FAQ or a message. And of course, please be kind and rewind

OOC:

That was great, I just got a chance to read it. Character building stuff is always cool, and who portrays their character better than Venom?
