Alright ladies and gentlemen, it¡¦s another edition of The Rock¡¦s Perspective and I have a few things to address. Let¡¦s get down to business . . .

State of the Federation:

Overall, I still think the ECWF is going very well. In the last few months we¡¦ve had some very key returns that have really spiced up the shows. You guys are working very hard and I can see there are a few of you that are putting a lot into your work. Still, there are a few who seem to have fallen off. I don¡¦t lay blame on anyone but I think the promos come in waves. Chalk it up to any number of things. The point is, I know everyone has a life and this is a hobby and for fun. Just remember that unless you give us notice to either be left off the card or you can¡¦t promo for the week, we¡¦re expecting you to at least make a showing. We keep an eye on everyone and we take notice when you tend to fall off. If you¡¦re looking for a push, the way to get it is to be a solid promoer.

What can I say though? ECWF seems to be getting better and better. I think a lot of you would agree. Then I think there are those who may not. But that¡¦s partly what this column is for. If you¡¦ve seen something I¡¦ve written and don¡¦t agree with it, or you do, either way, I want to see comments. Tell me what you think. The ECWF as whole though I think is getting better. Shows are getting done, coming out more and more on time, the majority of you seem to be happy, and it seems that if you¡¦re not, you¡¦ve brought your thoughts to a Staff member. I want everyone to know I haven¡¦t forgotten about anyone. You may think that because you haven¡¦t had a match or you haven¡¦t been involved much, that means I when they¡¦re not on the card anymore. From top to bottom across the board, it just doesn¡¦t happen. Main Eventers tend not to really need to. But that doesn¡¦t mean they shouldn¡¦t. Cutting a promo when you aren¡¦t on the card tells the staff you¡¦re still in the game and that you¡¦re ready for your next match. Sitting back and waiting does you no good. Some might ask about the recent rule we made. There¡¦s nothing in that rule that says you can¡¦t put yourself out there. The point is guys we need activity to stay alive. Sometimes it¡¦s hard to set up new feuds because we don¡¦t know who is going to be consistent. This is where some of you could really break through. A classic example of someone who got himself noticed is Craig Lovecraft. Craig didn¡¦t sit back and wait for something to come to him, he went out and got noticed. He called out an entire TEAM and took them on. Am I saying to throw yourselves into a feud you may or may not be able to win? No. Am I telling you to call out Staff members in the efed and try to get a one up? No. All Im saying is guys who try hard and do it without overdoing it are the ones who get themselves into the Main Event. It takes time and skill. Just because you¡¦re the man (or woman) in another fed doesn¡¦t mean you¡¦re going to come here and be top dog. So don¡¦t come in expecting that either. For me, when you come here, you start at the bottom. I don¡¦t want to hear how you won so many titles in other feds. They aren¡¦t the ECWF. To make it here, you have to put yourself out there and give 100%. No questions asked. So the next time you feel like you haven¡¦t heard from anyone, throw yourself out there. Put up a promo that introduces us to who you are. Then, as long as we see that you¡¦re active, good things will happen. This isn¡¦t a fed that gives things away. Its up to you to make yourself a star. As always, myself and staff members are here if you have any questions. Any Main Eventer as well will give you tips if you ask them nicely. Also, we have the Dojo for your learning needs. You want help? That¡¦s the place to go.

Best Promos:

Going with what I said above, I want to recognize Ant for his hard work in his promos. The guy gave The Iron Man a hell of a run. When the results were posted, he took me to a Double KO finish. Cheap? It might seem that way to some. But I guarantee Ant is on his way to bigger and better things. Ant hung with me every step of the way and has seriously opened up some doors for himself. Its not necessarily who wins the promo battle, its how you approach it. I know for a fact Ant thought he had no chance in hell to beat me. But he stuck to it and I want to give him all the credit in the world. This guys has been here over a year and it took him a long time to perfect his character. Now look where he is . . . a veteran, had some gold in his career, in the middle of the KOTD Title hunt, facing off with me AND running his own successful fed. My hat¡¦s off to you Ant. Not only do you earn my vote for the best promos this week, but the Superstar of the week as well. I want every to have a look at Ant. We can all learn from his work ethic. Hard work pays off and this man is the prime example of it. Ant . . . awesome job Bro. You damn well earned your stripes. Welcome to the Main Event scene buddy.

ECWF Magazine:

Just an update on this . . . I had been working on this for quite some time and it has sort of stalled. I desperately need some dedicated help on this. I have it about half done but I just have not been able to finish things. Any takers? At least TWO people would be excellent. Reply here or PM me.

Side Note:

I want to also recognize Beast. Some of you may be a bit surprised but I¡¦m going to explain this . . . Beast came to me tonight looking for help. The guy was eager and he listened. He even saved the things I had to say to him. To me, that shows that he is really working hard at getting better. Beast, good luck to you Bro. I don¡¦t care what anyone says, you keep working hard. It¡¦ll pay off.

What¡¦s Next for Iron Man?:

Normally I would reserve this topic for an in character blog but I think it¡¦s better I do this here. As most of you should know by now, Iron Man has been suspended and stripped of the KOTD Title for insubordination by our new GM Shane Warner. There¡¦s two reasons for this. One, as you all know, I¡¦ve just had a baby and I need a couple weeks off. I really didn¡¦t want to do the whole injury angle thing because that¡¦s just overplayed. So with the current storylines in the works, this worked out perfectly. Second, to be quite honest with you all, I didn¡¦t want to tie up the KOTD Division. I feel there are 4 or 5 guys that are best suited for this division and I know I really enjoyed my run, as short lived as it may seem. Trust me when I say that the Iron Man won¡¦t be out of the KOTD picture forever. But I feel like a few of you have really stepped up and this Division would be perfect to round out some of your characters. So I took it upon myself to step out of the limelight and take my much needed break while simultaneously turning the KOTD Division over to some promising talent. I promise, all will be revealed in due time. But when the Iron Man returns, you better believe there¡¦s gonna be some fireworks. Expect the unexpected . . . and watch for Iron Man to make some waves in more than one of our divisions as the year goes on. ƒº

Board Updates:

Not a whole lot on this side of things. I added a PPV section to kind of organize things. This is where all of our PPV Cards and results will be posted. Also, I will be working on a calendar for the year. Stay tuned. Also, the Moderators Group has been updated. They now have limited power over the board to help enforce rules. So all of you trouble makers, I now have more eyes around the fed. :D

Having said that, this brings me to our latest promotions. Testing out the new Moderator settings and joining Torch in the Moderator Group will be Countdown and Vlad. Countdown is a match writer and used to be on Staff before stepping down. Vlad has been a main stay here and has really worked hard not just in character but out and not to mention has written the occasional match for us as well. Congrats to these guys on well deserved promotions.

Likewise, we have a new addition to the Staff . . . Craig Lovecraft. Craig served as one of our first two Mods and generally helped me with updates and stuff on the board, unbeknownst to most of you. Craig brings his writings skills and creative mind to the Staff as well as some much needed organization. That¡¦s not to say we aren¡¦t organized, but our HQ thread could use some help being maintained. So congrats to Craig on a well earned promotion and make sure to give him your support. Also, with this, look for Craig¡¦s characters to get promotions in all his skits. ƒº

Returns:

I want to take this time to extend a heartfelt welcome back to ECWF¡¦s resident firestarter, Pyro aka Scott Mann. Scotty used to be on Staff as well before he was forced to take some time off for school, work, etc. He had a stint as ECWF GM when I retired before moving to Australia. Scotty is a great efedder and a good veteran to get to know. He was one half of one of the greatest tag teams ever formed in the ECWF, The New Experience. He and Countdown were inducted into the ECWF Hall of Fame for their exploits in TNE. Pyro is back and looking to make a splash. ECWF, get ready to feel the burn.

Also, rumors have been buzzing that one, Canadian Killer has made appearances on the board. This rumor is indeed true. For those of you who don¡¦t know, CK was one of our original members and one of the men responsible for making Shane Warner who he is today. CK is very good at the efed game as well and while a return isn¡¦t planned yet . . . never say never.

On a side note, there is a rumor going around that former ECWF icon, Captain Charisma has been contacted. This is not true . . . yet. We are working to see if we can get a hold of him to see if he is interested in at least coming back to the board. Either way, this man is a legend in some circles, especially for his hot dog antics. More on this as it comes.

Random Ideas and Thoughts:

I had a thought today about a new idea which I am seriously considering and I want to hear what you all think. I was thinking about putting on a small series of matches, leading up to a PPV match called the Iron Man Trophy. (Name is still up for debate) Essentially, this is SORT OF a King of the Ring gimmick but with the twist that its being put on and hosted by me, in and out of character. I figured ECWF has the titles but we don¡¦t offer much in the way of awards and competitions. So, while I don¡¦t have all the details ironed out (no pun intended) I am seriously considering this and I would like to know your thoughts. Yes, this is something you would be able to list on your list of accomplishments if you have one and so desire to do. Any ideas to this would be welcome. But in the end, this is a special event, held by me, to see what you guys are made of. Respond accordingly.

Baby Update:

Young Max is home now with his mommy and both are doing very well. Tash (Missy) wanted me to tell all of you how much she appreciated reading all the kind words. She says she does plan to jump online when she can and make sure to either have some chat time with you guys or she¡¦ll write up a thank you post of her own. But if you want to PM her or send her some nice words, she¡¦s always open to it. So thank you all once again. If you want more info, check out the BIG ANNOUNCEMENT in this category, From the Desk of the GM.

Other than that, you¡¦ll have to PM me. And pictures MIGHT be on the way if you all behave.

That¡¦s all I have for now kids. I¡¦m tired as and I have a baby who still won¡¦t go to sleep. I had to rescue Tash so she could catch some z¡¦s. So I¡¦ m off. Post your replies and comments and I will get back to you all ASAP. Thanks for reading . . . I¡¦m out.

i know we talked about that KOTR thinger. you have my thoughts there.

i've not really got a lot of comments on the board at the moment, except its good to see all these guys returning, and everyone stepping it up a notch.

damn, i totally wanted to say "I'M SENIOR MODERATOR!" but countdown was on staff before me =(

...but i was an official mod first, right? RIGHT? lol. anyway, congrats to craig (who totally deserves his promotion. i'm surprised it didnt happen sooner), vlad and countdown!

and..y'all better watch out. you never know when torch is gonna come back and take his KOTD back... =)
