I think the best piece of advice I can give is, be honest with your doctor. I don't mean just about your eating but about how it disrupts your life and how it makes you feel. Honesty is the way forward <3 |

My two cents: If you get to a place where you are ready and craving treatment, cling to that and don't let it go! I go through periods where I'm very seriously recovery minded, and I know that i could get the help that i needed if i put the effort forth.. But then there is the down-time, between feeling so desperate for help and actually getting help, and in this time i tend to let myself go.. Meaning, once i start feeling a little better i tend to think that i don't really need treatment, and because of this i have yet to get myself help.. If you want help, please reach out! Even in the down time, when you are feeling ok, i think that is the most vital time for you to get it because your mind is able to process and think more clearly. It's easier said than done, but once you make the first steps the rest should come a little more easily |

I find it really disheartening trying to get treatment the right way. I've currently be waiting to see the CMHT for about 10-11 months, and this is just for the referal to have an assessment, when I get the appointment it's not even a garenty that my case will be taken on. I think of how stressful this is when I think about how I got seen by CAMHS so quickly, basically I put myself into hospital and the next week I had my assessment with CAMHS and they took my case on right away. So now it's so tempting to just think, "Well I could just take an overdose again and I'd have a councillor straight away, I'm resisting that urge because I want to do it by the book and be seen honestly but it's so frustraiting! |
