11th Year Styx; Divination and DADA

Struggling with a kicking three year old boy at her hip, Alisha let out a large sigh and looked down at her little boy. He was crying because his favorite toy was broken and daddy still had not fixed it. She knew that Bahari was busy, keeping them a secret and working what he didn’t want to work, but she was still in love with him. "Lawrence… Lawrence… listen to Mommy…" he struggled a little less and sniffled, leaning back a bit so he could see her looking at him. "I know that it’s hard with daddy gone, but why don’t you and me try to fix it? We could get some glue and scissors…" he looked at her and blinked, a couple times and nodded, rubbing his eyes, with his fists. "Okay?" he nodded again and she set him down. She walked towards the kitchen and looked over her shoulder as he sat looking at his toy and then looking up at the wall where there was a family picture of them. She sighed lightly, her heart breaking for the little boy who just didn't understand why his daddy was gone for weeks at a time.

She pulled open the kitchen drawer and shuffled around the many objects and found the glue. She knew that she could just use her wand, but she wanted to teach her son how to be constructive. She was positive that her father was using magic around her son, and that was all great and fine, but she did not want to teach her son that magic could solve everything.

She helped her son glue the chute back onto his train and then he smiled, wanting to pick it up and play with it again. She shook her head. "You have to let it dry for a while before you can play with it, Lawrence…" he pouted at her and she smiled lightly. "How about this?" she scooped him up off the floor. "How about you and I go to the market to get some food and treats and when we get back it will be ready to play with again, okay?" she looked down at him and he smiled at the mention of treats and nodded enthusiastically. And then Alisha realized that maybe giving him sugar was going to be a horrible, horrible mistake. But then again, she had not gotten him any for a while… so maybe it was deserved.

They put on their coats and shoes and walked out the door. She had found a small house just a couple blocks away from the busy market streets and she took his hand as they began their walk. He was skipping along and she decided to join in. They giggled and laughed as they skipped along and they were in the city in no time.

Glancing around she wondered where they would have to go first. She knew that his eagerness for candy would shortly turn to wines so she looked down at him and then picked him up. “Let’s go get dinner and then we can go get candy, okay Lawrence?” she asked him. He nodded and they headed down the busy street, looking at all the vendors. There was apparently a farmer’s market going on, and that excited them both. Last year, they found a pumpkin that was large enough for Lawrence to sit in, and they wondered if that same guy would be there this year. Lawrence was eager to get around and explore and would point out which way they should go next, and the kid in Alisha followed with just as much enthusiasm. She smiled and laughed along with her little boy as they saw some mimes and some clowns along the road and a juggler spinning pins. What a wonderful day to be out and about, and what not a more perfect way to keep her son's mind of daddy and his broken toy.

Not looking where they were going since she stopped to pick up a sack of food she had bought, she bumped into someone and stood up right real quick. "Oh! I'm so sorry, sir!" she said quickly as she brushed her hair out of her face and adjusted Law on her hip. "I didn't see you there..."

So much had happened over the last few days, he had spent so much time with Jaden, and yet he could spend more time with her; they had grown so close, like they were old friends, she was easy to talk to, and fun to be around. An amazing friend with such a special under control power, even if she received tutoring for it he believed that she could do it, that she could pull herself through and control those emotions battling against her. Blaize himself had made a promise to himself that he would not make it harder for her, he would try to remain clam, keep strong emotions at bay and away from her so she could concentrate on her on-going task; he also wouldn’t over load her with information. For example, he wasn’t about to tell her how he’d been to a few apartment viewings and was considering a small place on the outskirts of Eos; it was rickety, cheap and very well used… but that was how he wanted it. Run down, with a past, something Blaize felt he could work on to breathe life into it; after all, who would want something premade for them? It had never been Blaize’s style to take an easy way of doing things and he wasn’t about to change that.

Regardless to say Blaize was now wandering around Sparta, he knew that the market place was notorious for its exquisite tastes, its extraordinary smells and of course the people. Blaize knew now that he was starting to integrate back into society he would have to rehabilitate himself back into functioning normally in a social situation, to not be cautious of every sound that was near him, to not glance over his shoulder every few seconds, and of course to travel more regularly during the day, where people could see him. Blaize was taking it slow, of course, being around Jaden make this daunting task easier but by himself it was an entirely different game; he had taken a few days to be able to confidently walk down a quiet street with the occasional passer by, but from this he made leaps and bounds, walking down this street in broad daylight and without him twitching at his wand every five seconds.

Now it was a bigger challenge , this was a crowded street with lots of strangers and a high possibility that there was someone out there to get him; but Blaize was comforted by the fact that he knew this street well, he knew where to escape, he knew where he could disappear to. People bumped into him many times, each time Blaize’s fingers flickered over his wand, his paranoia high here. Blaize raised his lit cigarette to his mouth, dragging in deeply, letting the relaxing fumes fulfil his lungs. Blaize lowered his lighter into his baggy cargo shorts, in hidden with the rest of his “ingredients” for his “cigarette”. His black t-shirt, waved lightly in the breeze, in ways it made him seem all that much paler, but in other ways it made him all that more tan, that more rugged, hey… he may even attract a new lady friend like this. Blaize rubbed his chin where the stubble had formed as he took out his cigarette.

He was staring at the vegetables, wondering what he could stomach right now, in fact, Blaize was unsure if he could stomach anything right now. There were too many people today, street performers, mimes, Blaize inwardly shuddered at the thought of mimes, and lots of families and people looking at the market. Today probably wasn’t the best of days for him to explore again, quickly he started walking quickly up the street head down and hair bouncing on his head until… he crashed into someone. Blaize heard an apology and looked up, seeing a woman, who was most likely younger than him, with blonde hair and a young boy… also with blonde hair and a pair of shocking blue eyes staring at him. Blaize looked at the floor, seeing a sack of food spread on the floor; he quickly bent down low.

Gathering the food Blaize shook his head holding up the bag to her; “Don’t apologise to me pretty Mommy, I wasn’t looking.” Blaize flashed a smirk to her, she was cute, but not his style, not a Mother, no way. Blaize rubbed the back of his head and grinned widely as he flicked his cigarette away, he knew how Mothers would get around their children if someone smoked around them; he crushed the cigarette underneath his foot and looked at them both, his silver eyes flashing gently. “As an apology from me, where were you heading? I’ll carry your…sack there.” Blaize grinned and picked up the sack again, holding it up easily, adamant to help the lady.

So many days alone… so many days where her father was the only male companion she had to help with her son… She loved Bahari, which was evident to anyone that saw her talk about him or even hear the mention of him. She smiled lightly at the thought of him, but shook the thought from her head. She had more time to think about him later. For now, she was lonely and wanted to see if she could make a new friend right here and now. She smiled as he told her that she did not need to apologize and called her a pretty Mommy. She smiled lightly: she was glad to know that she still had it and that being a mom was not hiding the body she worked so hard to have. Good… she thought. She had shed the baby fat and maybe the next time she was with Bahari, she could flaunt what she had. Grinning at that thought, she looked at the man in front of her whom was offering to carry her bags for her.

Looking at Law, she knew that her other shoulder could use a break and she nodded lightly. “Thank you, yes. Lawrence is getting a little big and that shoulder could use a break. Thank you.” She smiled at him. What a kind stranger… she usually expected to get yelled at by men she bumped into here. It had happened before. She looked at Lawrence who had his eyes fixed on the stranger, studying him. “Law…” she asked gently. He looked at her, his hand in front of his lips. “Do you want to ask this man if he wants to join us for ice cream for helping mommy?” she smiled at him and Law nodded lightly.

“Ice cream?” he asked the stranger. Alisha turned to look at the man and smiled brightly, laughing lightly. “If you can’t…dats okay.” He said. For being three, her son was able to talk a lot. Of course, he was able to talk at a very young age. They both looked at the stranger, hoping he would come along for being so kind and helpful. It was the least she could do, and hell… maybe she would have a new friend to have over, since Mei Lee was currently involved in a war… god she missed that purple-haired elf. But she knew that she had to be where she was… much like Bahari. Oh, Lord Alisha was lonely..

The woman looked as though she was uncomfortable with her shoulder, as he offered to carry her bags for her and the little boy was staring at him; he gave him a glance back only a moment capturing his eyes, a sparkling blue, ones that seemed to him to be familiar. They screamed at him, to notice them, how… how could he notice a child’s eyes? Did… did they remind him of someone? Or did he know this small family. No, no he couldn’t, he would have noticed this woman first, and he did not notice the woman. But the thought, the thought of those… grey… but mostly blue eyes sparked something inside of him, something he felt that needed to be remembered. And he couldn’t put his finger on it, all he knew was that it was important that he remembered what it was about them. Now that he noticed this, there was something so much more to this child, his facial shape… it reminded him of someone, his elegant toddler face, the eyes, the blonde hair, even the way the child looked at people. It was… someone, someone he knew.

Before he could contemplate the matter more she agreed to him taking her bags which in his arms he took, easily swinging them onto his shoulder, they were not that heavy to him, but he supposed that as well as carrying a toddler as well would really strain on the shoulders. Especially since this particular toddler seemed to be getting a little big for his Mum to carry him around anymore, he wondered for a moment, where the hell the Father was? Surely, he should be here, to help his, well Blaize supposed, wife with this shopping and the toddler, or at least leaving the toddler behind with the Father for them to spend time. Did he work? Or was he just an arsehole, who would leave this woman with the child and having to shop here as well, anything could happen to them both, they were vulnerable, a child and young woman; anyone could pick pocket them, take them or even hurt them. Blaize was sure she could probably look after them both, but… I ways Blaize felt protective over them, he could not evade looking after a mother and child when they were out alone. Blaize supposed it was most likely because of the helpless feeling he got when he thought about Angeni and Brittany, that he couldn’t protect them, and that he couldn’t return to them, and be the older brother and man of the family he was supposed to be. Well, Bahari could do it… but Blaize was older, he had more responsibility to look after the family. But he could… never… return.

The Mother spoke to the child, and he looked away, covering his mouth with his small hand and then asked him to go for ice cream; Blaize smiled and gave a small laugh as he nodded. “Well, how can I resist such an offer from a young gentleman? And his beautiful Mother?” He smiled, meaning the compliment just sincerely as he turned looking for the ice cream parlour, and started walking towards it, making sure that the two were nearby at least, his walk had been reduced to a stroll, knowing that his long strides would soon take him away from them. Once away from the crowd and at the parlour he opened the door for the two and waited for them to walk through, and when they had he smiled and closed the door behind them all. Blaize wandered behind them until they sat down, wherever the two of them decided to sit, he smiled at them again, placing the baggage nearby to them and looking towards the mother. “I’m Bla-ke by the way.” He said, stuttering on his name, thinking it was the nearest name he could give himself without giving away his name at all; he sat down and looked towards the two. “And to whom do I share the pleasure of sharing dairy delights with today?”

She could tell that he was studying her and she wasn't what sure for, but she really didn't pay any attention to it. She was used to looks like that, and sometimes from creepers, but she learned to look strong, look like she was headed somewhere and to meet someone that would miss her if she didn't come. She sighed lightly as Lawrence started clapping as the man agreed to take them up on their offer to get ice cream. He complemented them both and she smiled brightly at him as he adjusted the bags and led the way.

She followed closely, feeling a bit more protected around him, but cautious not to get too close to him as he lead the way, she didn't want to come off as defenseless. As they made it to the shop, the got inside in front of him and he told them his name was Blake and wanted to learn their names. "I'm Alisha Summit, and this is... go on. Introduce yourself..."

[ooc: Permission to have him say his last name as Zorian and make things weird for Blaze?]
