Personal Information
Name: Heath Rohann St. John
Nickname: He’ll pretty much answer to whatever you call him, including ‘Youngy’, ‘Pretty boy’, ‘Beardless’, ‘James Potter’ and ‘I can’t remember which St. John you are, but anyway’.
Gender: Male
Age: 21
Birthday: December 6th
Blood: Muggleborn
Wand: 11 and one half inches of Bulsar wood, with a core of unicorn hair.

Academic Information
Year: 8th
Level of Study: Undergraduate
Degrees: Magical Science and Practical Magic
Majors: Engineering and Charms
Previous Schooling: Barnardiston Hall Preparatory School (elementary school level), followed by seven years at Olympus Academy in Aphrodite house, and finally the University of London, where Heath studied Computer Science

Physical Description:
Height: 5’ 10”. Above average height, but against his taller brother and much taller father, Heath feels short.
Build: Heath’s of a medium build, with the typical broad shoulders and narrower hips of a swimmer. He keeps in shape by playing various sports and especially mucking around with his brother, though he has no regular exercise regime.
Hair: Dark brown hair with some natural lighter brown highlights once it grows a bit longer. He wears his hair quite long over his ears and neck, but it is thankfully straight so he doesn’t have to worry about anything other than getting up in the morning. Occasionally he’ll find a brush or his way to a haircut, but that’s a very rare day. Health isn’t a huge fan of facial hair generally, but doesn’t bother shaving every day either, so normally has a little stubble and scruff going on.
Eyes: Baby blue and beautiful; he has the same light blue as the rest of his family, he is happy to say. Generally speaking Heath’s eyes sparkle with happiness and more than a hint of mischief; when he is truly upset, you can tell by the dullness in his eyes.
Voice: A strong, upper-class English accent that Heath jokingly refers to as his Mr Darcy voice. His years in Greek have done absolutely nothing to lessen this. His voice itself isn’t particularly deep or high pitched, just a normal medium-pitched voice. The more excited he gets the faster he tends to speak, especially when he’s trying to ‘explain’ something technical.
Ethnicity: English
Other: Heath has quite a square face, with a wide jaw and a ‘five head’. His mouth is very wide, but this is offset by the presence of dimples when he smiles, which is very often; Heath has a very nice, bright smile. Clothing wise Heath always sticks to muggle clothing, despising wizarding robes as they remind him of old-fashioned judges, generally nothing more special than jeans and a t-shirt or button down shirt, rolled up at the cuffs. Generally these are designer clothes of course, though that’s more because he knows nothing else to buy. He cleans up rather nicely though, and owns many a suit and even a tuxedo for special occasions, or for moments when he feels like being a little bit different. Heath is very big on jewellery, with more bracelets, cuffs, watches and rings that he can keep track of. They’re all over the place style wise, but as much as he can he keeps away from metal, especially around his brother.

Psychological
Personality: Dramatic is a good way to start describing Heath, as he is never one to be the wallflower and go quietly into the night. He’s the person standing in the middle of it all, with everyone’s attention on him and enjoying the spotlight. On the other hand, he doesn’t like drawing unnecessary attention to himself; he isn’t the kind of person to act the idiot or the fool just so people will pay him attention. Rather, he will often find himself doing just that in order to take it off someone else, especially his friends and family who tend to be on the quieter side. He can handle people looking at him, Heath isn’t in the least bit bothered by any of it, but he realises that that isn’t the case for everyone. That doesn’t mean that Heath doesn’t like solitary time; just that he hardly ever shows it, and prefers not to be left alone to think. If there’s one thing Heath is not, it’s a philosopher.

Honesty is an important quality in Heath’s life, and he tries to be as honest as he is able, particularly about how he sees or is feeling about a particular person or thing. This isn’t only about the good things in his life, but about the bad ones as well; he does not like keeping things in, preferring to get everything he is feeling out and dealing with it as it comes along. This doesn’t follow along to being tactless and brutally honest about everything; he doesn’t mind a white lie here and there to make a friend feel better, for the most part he’ll try to be completely honest about himself and his intentions, even if they aren’t the most innocent. Though he’s normally very happy and easy-going he knows when to get serious with his friends, and always makes time to talk to them, be for them when they need him.

Despite his life of the party attitude, Heath’s a lot more intelligent than most people realise. His background in IT makes perfect sense once you get to know him or at least once you see him around a computer. Though he isn’t likely to start a conversation, Heath is proud of being a self-proclaimed geek, nerd and anything else you could think to call him. He is very rarely sitting still, always playing with something in his hands, normally trying to fix something or improve it in some way. Heath is eager about learning, and especially about learning how to make magic and muggle technology work on a larger scale than his ability allows for. This eagerness extends to both his classes and people generally; Heath is always up for meeting new people from different walks of life. He doesn’t deal very well with people’s arrogance or people being mean though; he tends to respond in kind, often without thinking, making the situation escalate. Still, he tries his best to get along with everyone, even if he doesn’t always achieve that.

History: Heath is the youngest child born to the St. John family’s parents Gary and Amanda. A muggle family, the St. Johns were a wealthy family who owned and operated wineries in England and Italy, though they were nowhere near the wealthiest family in the neighbourhood. Gary, having always been a hard, hands on worker, always taught his children to focus on what they had in life and how lucky they were, so nothing much ever bothered Heath much about money or wealth. Since he is nearly a decade younger than his older sister, the magic in Amanda’s blood had already shown itself, and he was still a baby when Adrienne was sent away to Olympus Academy. They knew to look out for the same signs in Jareth and later Heath himself as they grew up, and sure enough Heath showed the normal signs of magic as a child; things disappearing, windows exploding every now and then. Gary and Amanda dealt with it much better by the time Heath came around, and it was no big deal by that point.

There was some trouble when Heath was sent away Barnardiston Hall Preparatory School of course, but after a few words from his parents about being careful to hide any weird things that happened he was good to go; besides which, he always had big brother Jareth to look out for him. After leaving Barnardiston Heath followed his siblings to Olympus Academy. His aptitude for practical magic was clear very early on, and he enjoyed his Charms and Transfiguration classes the most, even if he wasn’t his professors’ favourite students. At first Heath wasn’t too sure why he was there, since he didn’t seem to have any power that people could see; not like his older brother and sister had. However, it took only a few weeks into classes before his power was revealed. Heath was able to stop magic in its tracks, what he later called the Magical Mute Button, so that he could protect himself or other people from spells.

From the years spent working on his power, Heath is able to say that it’s all very dependent on what factors are about; the strength of the spell, the strength of the spellcaster, the strength of the person he’s trying to stop from being affected by the spell, his strength compared to all of that, how much sleep he had the night before, how big a breakfast or lunch he had before trying. All of this means that he doesn’t know very much about his power at all, unfortunately. This was even more disappointing when he discovered, in his early teens, the importance that computers had in a muggle’s life, and how enjoyable they were. With a lot of concentration, a little patience which he generally lacked, and lots of practice, Heath was eventually able to master the art of using his computer while at Olympus Academy without it breaking down. Unfortunately, by this point it was his seventh year and he was about to graduate, so it didn’t do him much good.

Unlike his older brother, Heath followed his older sister and didn’t mind going to a muggle university after graduating from Olympus. Business wasn’t for him, and he still doesn’t understand how Jareth was able to study Philosophy and Logic of all things; instead, he attended the University of London, where he studied Computer Science. Heath absolutely loved his IT studies, learning as much as he could about the mechanics of computers, and putting it into practice by building a computer-run entertainment centre at the family home in England, for which he earned his father’s ‘eternal love and devotion’. Heath disappointed his mother by deciding to go back to a wizarding university to study after he graduated from the University of London, but it had to be done. He had somewhat mastered his ability, he had definitely mastered everything about computers that he needed to; now it was to put those two things together, and Elysion University was the place to do it. The fact that his older brother was also there to annoy was simply a bonus.

Family:
Gary St. John: father, 59, Owner of St. John Wineries. Gary’s a modern, down to earth man, who Heath looks up to and respects very much.
Amanda St. John: mother, 60, retired. Amanda worked as a hairdresser, more for something to do than for the money, but has now retired. Of Heath’s parents, she is more against her children being so involved in the magical world, and wasn’t happy when Heath followed Jareth to Elysion University.
Adrienne Carpenter: older sister, 31, witch, works in their father’s business and set to take it over whenever Gary finally decides to retire. She is recently married to a guy Heath thinks is okay, but not excellent. He enjoys scaring Justin, her muggle husband, with talk of magic.
Jareth St. John: older brother, 24, wizard, also attending Elysion University. In typical little brother form, Heath plans on making trouble for Jareth, but he respects and loves his older brother very much.

Miscellaneous
Pet: None. No, wait. Jareth?
Knowledge/Talents: Heath’s strength lies with his wand; he is a very strong wizard as far as practical magic goes. Charm is his very strongest subject at this, though he shares some of his brother’s skill for DADA-type spells and duelling, though none of the passion. He is also someone who has excellent mechanical skills, and is excellent with his hands; putting things together is second nature for him, and he can very often be seen playing with something broken, trying to fix it. Heath is also an expert fencer, for reasons he cannot explain, and would like to go on record as saying that he can beat Jareth and Ryan Kavanaugh with one hand tied behind his back.
Magical Weaknesses: While Heath is good at understanding the mechanics behind magic, he isn’t the best at listening to or reading instructions; Potions was a real problem for him, as were exploding cauldrons. Likewise, magic seemingly without any magic behind it, such as Divination, was completely a mystery to him.
Special Ability: Magical Mute Button; at least, that’s what Heath calls. What it means is that Heath is able to temporarily stop magic from interfering with a thing or a person for as long as he is paying attention and keeping up the ‘field’ around it. This works on himself, other people and objects, his favourite being his computer, though the more he tries to use it on, the shorter time it lasts. Despite all his hard effort at Olympus Academy, Heath’s never actually figured how exactly how it works; he hopes to learn more about it here at Elysion University.
Notes: [PC] All thanks to the mighty Heir, who wrote Jareth’s application, upon which this is based.
