Um, I was looking at the statistics just noqw, and I notice we have a Quidditch Announcer, and a Ref, but we haven't had any matches yet? Is this because of lack of team members, or is there another hidden motive behind our lack of dangerously comptetitive broom-sports? ^_^

The lack of team members. Remember when we tried to get together a team of students to play against professors? We couldn't even get enough for one quidditch team, let alone two.

Unless there's some big admin conspiracy against quidditch. *shrugs* But I'm still thinking it's just numbers.

Yes, I do have a question.
I've registered my account, I've done everything up to sorting. With sorting to I add a "topic" to 'student profiles' and you get a message, or do I put it somewhere else. It's just really confusing what I'm meant to be doing now. I know how to type the profile up and set it out, I just don't know where to put it.
PLEASE HELP

Hello dear,

To post your profile you make a topic in the Sorting thread. So just click Sorting > New Topic. The title of the Topic should be your name. The admin will then sort you and move your profile! Sorry for the confusion.

Kezia's got it exactly right, but just to help I added a link; post your profile in this forum. Once it's been approved your character bio will be moved into the 'Student Character' archives.

Is it alright if we retcon past characters?

Not large things - but like if a student in the past came here, can we not only assume that they graduated and left (which I figured would be alright) but change some things about them, like family and special ability?

Assuming it's okay with the player of the character of course, since it obviously isn't me.

I think really, as long as you have consent permission from that player, it should be all good, and if by any chance an admin would like to verify with that player, that everything is already sorted by the time you put this character in effect.

'Sides, I like you, all is good :P

But yeah, I think it's cool as long as you have that player's permission.

Have a wonderful day!

I was just wondering, as it is not mentioned in the instructions thread, is there a specific size limitation on the Notebook/Photobook/Journal cover images?

Thanks,

Lyss

No images are to be wider than 500 pixels (the site will actually resize them if they're larger than this) but height wise, not so much. Do remember that not everyone is on broadband, so nothing too high.

Hi there ^^ I just had a few really quick questions, both dealing with the classes. The first question is where would the sign-up threads be located? I'm pretty sure I checked everywhere but I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't just missing them for some reason.

The second question is can we substitute another class for one of the recommended classes? Or are there any other options for recommended classes for the majors?

Umm... thats all I can think of at the moment but I might come up with more. ^^

There aren't any sign up threads for classes at the moment. They are up to the player of the professor to do, and considering the small number of active professors we currently have, it isn't too surprising that we don't have any at the moment.

We don't actually require sign up threads, though (some prof's don't like to do them) so classes may just abruptly start. You yourself can also start a class discussion if you want, using one of the NPC Professors if you're looking to roleplay a particular one.

Recommended classes are just that, recommended to your major/s. IC, the only classes your character must take are the required ones. So if there's a particular recommended class your character is terrible at, they don't have to take it. Likewise, if there's another class they would love to take in a different department, they can go ahead and take that. Th basic idea is that classes would work on a credit system, so as long as you take enough classes overall, including your required classes, you would pass.

OOC, however, you are not forced to roleplay any classes.

^_^
