"The summer sun is fading as the year grows old And darker days are drawing near. The winter winds will be much colder Now you're not here." -"Forever Autumn" by the Moody Blues December 3, 2005 I miss home. I miss the green hills, the sky, even the moon's light seems different here than it was at home. I suppose it's no different than any child who goes away from home the first time, but everything about this place is foreign, down to and including the magic they use! It is just so strange. Perhaps I will make friends, perhaps not. I must survive either way. I am a priestess, I will not falter in this, my task. I cannot. |

"And neither have I wings to fly Build me a boat that can carry two And both shall row - my love and I." -"The Water is Wide" December 4, 2005 I can remember Yule back home. As it approaches here, and so many decorate for Christmas, I ache for mother's almond paste pastries, and for the holly bushes that grow just outside of the Grove, now heavy with berries, little dots of red against the green. I long for songs I know. These holiday carols hang strangely on my tongue, and do not feel right. In short, I am alone for this holiday, with no one to celebrate with me. Perhaps I will seek out the music room, and play a few old tunes from home. That may cheer me up. I should also plan a holiday ritual... perhaps buy a few gifts. I have no close friends here, but I will not make friends sitting here, as is the saying in this time. -le Fiara |
