Name: Tikal Sebastian Nickname: none yet Gender: Female Age: 24 Year: 11th Blood: half-blood Major: DADA Minor: Potions Physical description: Tikal is a very pretty woman, possessing a natural beauty that requires little ornament. She is on the short side, buxom, with wavy, thick dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. She has fair skin with a slight yellow tint due to her Chinese blood. Otherwise, she would have the rosy-hued ivory skin of the Spaniard bloodline in her mother's Puerto Rican family. She has large yet slanted eyes; the only other Chinese/Asian feature she has is that she is virtually hairless in her arms and legs, therefore not having to shave. The rest are the features inherited from her mother: a distinctive profile, full protruding lips, and beautiful finger and toenails that look manicured no matter how hard she works. Tikal is not a woman who will grin often, she does not photograph well that way. She will usually give a mellow smile, which is more genuine to her. Tikal enjoys dressing causally, but will often dress up and apply light makeup as well. She has an hourglass figure on which hip-hugger jeans fall well. She is not extremely fit, and struggles to stay strong and in shape. Her tank tops and t-shirts will include pictures of famous music artists and anime. Her wardrobe is strongly influenced by Muggle fashion as she grew up in the Muggle world. Height: 5' --Not short for her age but not the tallest either. Weight: 140lbs Hair: dark brown Eyes: dark brown Ethnicity: hispanic Personality/Moods: Gentle and charismatic yet moody (can change from time to time). Tikal reveals certain aspects of herself to her friends and loved ones. Tikal has difficulty trusting people; she can give very little away in a great amount of small talk. She can work a room like anyone can ever. Warm and caring, she can turn very cold when she feels she or another has been treated unfairly. She tends to change moods depending on her state of mind, and becomes distant when troubled. Tikal's moodiness is triggered by several things. Tikal is very afraid of failure, and she will become angry when she feels her best is not good enough in certain situations. She struggles with speaking about her feelings as opposed to acting on them, and will often shut out her friends when she feels annoyed by them because they do not understand her. Because of this, Tikal has very few she considers true friends. These are people that see beyond her moodiness. Another trigger to her downs is the absence of her mother. As her mother was killed when she was 14, she lacks some of the character development that a mother would help a young woman with. She is often anxious around other women her age, because she grew up identifying more with boys. A final trigger to her bad moods is that she wishes she could do more for her friends when they are in tough situations. However, sometimes what one believes is best for another may not be so. Tikal will have to learn to not carry all of her friends' burdens. A salient aspect of Tikal's personality is her upbringing in the Bronx, NY. She has an attitude paired with speaking an idiom that separates her from her British neighbors in London. She will often allude to an experience in her urban hometowns in witty comments. One will find that Tikal is somewhat sadistic and contradictory in her habits. She wants to do well but will sometimes procrastinate until the need for a furious rush in order for a task to be done. She may hurt others in moments of rage, but she feels every ounce of pain she is giving them and doesn't stop until she herself is screaming to the heavens. She struggles to stay fit but eats anything. She can desire a man but will treat him like dirt to push him away, crying when he gives up on her. She wants peace and equality but will fight deadly wars in order to acquire what she wants, or to exact revenge on those who have offended her. Character History: Tikal was born in the Bronx, NY to Nikita and Darian Sebastian. During her childhood, electronic appliances would malfunction and people tended to get sick when she was angry at them. Nikita, being a witch, and Darien, being a squib, became increasingly sure Tikal was a witch. Darien, being an ambassador, was asked to relocate to London. Tikal and her family relocated to London when she was 10 years old. Subsequently, Tikal's magical ability was confirmed and Tikal attended Hogwarts under Headmaster Mooney. Sadly, during Tikal's term in Hogwarts, Nikita Sebastian was mercilessly murdered when she had a heart attack from a Cruciatus Curse administered by a Death Eater. The assailant has not been found. As he is a Squib, Darien Sebastian has remained in Muggle London with his daughter. He works as a bus driver. Struggling, Tikal knows she is fortunate to be able to continue her Magickal education. The time will come, however, when she will have to decide if she wants to remain in the Wizarding world. She had a good career there (9 NEWT's) and is now excited to attend Elysion University. After her education in Hogwarts, Tikal decided to take some time off to do some soul-searching. She worked Muggle jobs, and traveled to Egypt, Spain, the Amazon, back to New York and China. She larned about her culture and what it meant for her as a woman and a witch. She found that she wanted to work toward peace and unity in the Human race. She realized that predjudice is a Human issue, Muggle or Wizard. After time away from her studies, she ralized that she missed school and learning. She wanted to prepare herself for a career as an auror. She wanted to bring criminals to justice and use her knowledge to also work with communities in encouraging children to accept different people/creatures and their beliefs, and to work in unifying families. As an Auror and forensic alchemist, Tikal wants to prove that crime and violence do not pay. Hometown and Current Residence: Knightsbridge, London: 11 Brompton Road Pet/Companion: Mint, her owl Relationships/family: Nikita: mom, Darian: dad, Diana: sister Special Ability: hand magic/ wandless magic; sensing of pain. In Hogwarts, Tikal had to learn how to use her wand. She also learned how to use her power for healing as well as destruction. As for her sensing of pain, Tikal can sense pain in other living things but cannot heal or stop the pain without her wand. Her wndless magic is limited to the movement of objects, the destruction and burning of things, and conjuring. Notes: 'We will rock you' Have you read the rules? yes! /\ Where have you learned about Elysion Uni? it is higher education after magick primary and secondary. it's for older witches and wizards who wish to increase their abilities. I came of my own accord after finding it on a top 100 RPG list, so I have not been referred or introduced. I see that there is a great Greek-Roman influence here, and that the RP'ers write generously and beautifully. I want your stationery!!! Role-playing sample : Tikal walked into the courtyard of Elysion University for the first time. Behind her lay her luggage filled with things to fill her dorm room with. She had to have her posters, hair things, shoes, etc. That was not important at the moment. She would have given her entire collection of quidditch posters (yes, even the James McNair one) for Diana to see this place. The beautiful architecture of the University revealed itself. The grounds swirled in a beautiful array of green dotted with flowers in every color in creation. Several Bonzai trees served as shade from the hot sun. Tikal pulled herself away from the scenery to carry her things up to her room: 3 boxes and two suitcases. As soon as she entered her room, she sat on her now bare bed and admired the room. A large window let ample sunlight in. The four-poster bed she sat on had beautiful carved designs in a Chinese style. She decided to procrastinate on her unpacking and give herself a tour of the buildings. She started with the Music Hall. She could hear the faint plucking of a harp in the distance as she walked down the marble corridor. She opened a medium wooden door to her left, where the sound was the loudest, and entered a small plain room with old wooden floors. There, in the opposite wall by a window, sat a young gentleman, probably a student on a small stool. He was of medium build, with a dusty peach complexion, hazel eyes, and golden brown hair. He was so concentrated in playing his black harp that he didn't seem to notice Tikal walk in at all. she hoped to not disturb him so that she could enjoy at least one more minute of the beautiful music. She became strangely aware of the fit of her Weird Sisters' wifebeater, which was bias cut and accented her small waist and large hips, and the fall of her jeans, which were low cut and wide-legged. She looked down and began playing with her studded belt when a voice said "Hello." "Oh! Hello," said Tikal "You're nice with the harp, didn't want to interrupt." "Thanks. My name's Christian. Are you a new student?" "Yes, I'm starting this year. The name's Tikal. How'd you learn to play?" "I was taught when I was seven. You sound American." "I am originally. Proudly born and raised in the Bronx. I moved to London when I was nine." "Wow. I'm in my 10th year, and I can show you the ropes if you like." "I'd like that very much, Chris" Christian chuckled and got up "Would you like to see the library?" Tikal nodded. The two walked out of the simple room, down the corridor, and out into the light of day. Chris squinted and put a hand over his brow. "It's this way," he said, pointing to a building to the far east of campus. They walked into a rose garden, which started a cobblestone path that ended at the foot of the entrance steps of the library. There were about ten steps before a large oak door engraved with ancient runes painted in gold. At the entrance was the librarian’s desk. Behind it, was a grand study hall surrounded by about a hundred bookshelves. There were burning lanterns over small round tables in the study. Since the semester had not begun, the library was empty save a few desperate souls. Tikal loved to read and learn, but had learned from Hogwarts that burning herself out would accomplish little more than pacing herself. “I love this place,” said Chris. “My major is magickal medicine. What’s yours?” asked Chris. “Mine’s DADA and Potions, with a focus in forensics, Chris, and yeah, I think I’m gonna like this place too,” replied Tikal as the two started to walk back outside. “How about a pair of Butterbeers in the rose garden?” she asked, now with two butterbeers in her hand. Chris paused for a moment. “Great!” he said, and the two walked out the door. |
