Leaving aside the issue of word count for the moment; the forums have been collapsed as much as I think I will do.

Of course, if there's something about the collapsing you don't like, do let me know! I think I struck an okay balance between keeping forums separate and not having it be too long.

I also tried to keep in mind treating EU like an actual university, with a main building holding dorms and lounging spaces, the departments in separate buildings, then the pool house etc. I'd love to know if I achieved this!

I like how it's been sqwished down, for lack of a better term. I think it's short and simple is sometimes the best =)

And for my own thoughts...

I think the site is doing fairly well considering it was just a couple weeks ago that we kicked it back into gear... or rather jo dragged me back haha *hugs jo*

Just a quick input on the word count: I'm averaging about 250-300 words a post for my short, lack-o-muse posts. =( but I can write over 600 for starters. But I would really rather not have to write about 500 words a post. Maybe we could prefer 500, but not be penalized for just over 250? Happy medium there, eh?

I really like the site, but the background gives me a bit of a headache and i find that this is the only site i have to wear my glasses on to see. Maybe something not so bright? Or am I the only one?

Just to make the discussion clear: we aren't going to put up the word minimum. The current minimum for all posts is 250 original (ie not quoted from the post above) words. I doubt that the minimum is ever going to go up, because although we do want to keep up standards, we want new people to not be too put off either. You may write more, you may write however much you want, but I am quite against putting the word limit above 250.

As for putting it below 250? I think general consensus is against it. :/ I'm happy not to police it as strictly as has been done in the past, but I really do think 250 words is a fair minimum for posts to reach, even action posts. A post or two might be below it, but I think most rpers, and certainly rpers of the level we write at, can manage that in almost all of their posts.

Which bit of the site is bright exactly, Ali? The purple or the actual starry background? It isn't bright for me at all, at least on my screen, but changing the stars is simple. Changing the purple is a hell of a lot more difficult.

Word count issue sounds solved to me. =) And I'm with you on that one Aid... under 250 just seems a little too low... it is an advanced site after all... >>

And It's the starry background. I feel like such a :nerd: when i have my glasses on and it throws me dad off too. Haha! But I love the shade of purple, no need to change that. =)

Okay great, that's an easy fix. I lowered the opacity of the stars in the background so they weren't as bright; let me know if that's enough, or whether I have to make them darker again.
