10th Year Heracles; Medical Magic & Magical Creatures

Main Information
Name: Fábián Miklόs San’ko
Nickname: Fabe, Fabio, Little It, Young It, Little/Youngest Triplet, ‘One of those Triplets’
Gender: Male
Age: 21
Birthday: July 24th
Year: 10th
Blood: Half-blood
Wand: 10 inches, walnut wood, powdered ashwinder eggs
Previous School: Durmstrang Intitute
Major/s: Veterinary Science (Medical Magic + Magical Creatures)

Physical Description:
Height: 5' 10½" (1.79 m)
Weight: 165 lbs.
Hair: Dark Brown and straight hair. It’s shorter on the sides but longer at the top and at the front. He usually uses potions and gel to mess around with it but isn’t the kind of person to make sure his hair looks exactly perfect. Sometimes it’s long enough at the back to reach his collar and cover his neck – but once it reaches that point it’s time to cut it again.
Eyes: Green – like most of his family Fábián has green eyes – they aren’t very bright and you couldn’t call them emerald or forest green, they’re just not that bright. They’re more of an olive green – with a little grey in there as well for good measure.
Accent: Hungarian
Ethnicity: Caucasian - Hungarian
Other: He spends a lot of time outdoors and around animals – a very hard working kind of guy – so he has a defined body though it isn’t overly muscular. His skin has olive undertones to it like his family which means he tans well – he can get very dark in the summer when he’s spending a lot of time outdoors with the animals. His face is almost rectangular and he has a very wide forehead and chin – but not so wide it doesn’t look unnatural. His nose is a bit oversized as well but doesn’t look to disproportionate to the rest of his face. He has the same chin cleft as all the men as his family.

Fábián is a big fan of tattoos but he likes to have lots of small ones instead of big ones. The only larger one he has is a tattoo of a flying horse – a white one – on his left shoulder blade. He also has the seven deadly sins written in Hungarian in different places on his body – lust is on his right wrist, sloth on his right ankle, greed on the front left of his hip, with gluttony the same on the right, pride on the back of his neck, wrath on his left forearm and envy on the bottom of his back on the right. They’re all written in Hungarian so he has to translate them for most people. Despite his rebellious nature Fábián is appropriate when he dresses – he wears what’s right for the occasion, whether it be dress robes or a suit, or jeans and a shirt. His style is a little preppy sometimes but he’s pretty happy with how he dresses. If not for magic he would have several scars – but broken bones heal well with a wand.

Psychological
Personality: Fábián is an odd sort – the quirky one of the family. He’s an excellent actor and has the San’ko charm – he can talk anyone into anything – most of the San’kos can talk a penguin into buying some ice from any one of them. So when he talks with sincerity and seriousness, no matter what the subject is, it’s natural that you would believe him – at first glance he doesn’t seem to be the kind of person to lie. Of course, Fábián’s the kind of person who would come out with something serious one minute, only to pause, grin and immediately contradict himself in the next. This means that other people don’t always know what he means – but he always does. Because if he doesn’t have the right thing to say he won’t try to make something up, he’ll just be honest about it.

He can be very blunt at the vest of times - often uncaring of other people and very self focused. “Well that’s really nice – I don’t care,” is something often heard from him. He can sometimes be hurtful to others without realising it, as they do not know and may not care about the effect their words have on others – he knows that he can take criticism and usually assumes that everyone else is just like him. Fábián knows exactly who he is as a person – or has a view of himself at least – and will openly admit his fault without question. He can be arrogant and biased, hurtful and unthinking, extremely self-centred, he can be foolish when he acts before thinking about the situation – and he’ll say this just as soon as anyone else will. This is just how he is – why deny it?

Although he can be impulsive his actions are usually based on logic and not emotion – except when his family or a loved one is involved. He can think out a plan quickly but it’s a short term one – he doesn’t look to the future for what he is planning, just looks to solve the immediate problem and worry about the future in the future. He is no philosopher – he leaves thinking about life and the world to other people. Fábián is more the kind of person who likes to have fun, very outgoing and open – and just a little rebellious. After all, rules are more guidelines than something mandatory that he has to follow.

If someone asks for his help on something he’ll almost always immediately agree – thinking that if there are any problems they can work around them. In that way he’s very optimistic and happy go lucky – even when the chips are down and there’s a problem Fábián believes that there’s always a way to fix it – even if he has no idea of what that might be. He’s very practical – school that involves theory bores him silly and when in theory class he doesn’t pay any attention to any of it – school is a difficult chore for him. In practical work he excels though – which is why he loves working with animals so much.

History: Fábián was the third son in the San’ko family – the three boys were all born very close together, in about two and a half years of each other. Three years later there was a first and only girl born and she completed this generation of San’kos – Radek, Emmanuel, Fábián and finally Viktoria. The family came from a long line of prominent winged horse breeders so he was always around at least horses if not animals generally and quickly developed a love and affinity for them.

Fábián and his siblings were incredibly close growing up – the entire family was close in fact. Though he was a middle child he was more like the youngest and played around a lot with his little sister – playing pranks and making mischief generally. He was always the jokester of the family – something shared by some of the other members but best personified in him. Some of his best times were playing around with his mother’s or father’s wand and trying things out on his older brothers. His magical powers were pretty well known from an early age in the usual way – he would do the regular things wizard kids do like make things disappear or reappear near him if he wanted them, make things explode or shatter when he was angry or upset. It was clear early on that Fábián was a wizard.

There was something different that happened just as early on though – he was very young when he discovered his special ability, no more than seven or eight. He had been flying on one of the family horses, being a smart arse without a saddle when he had fallen right off it – the family watching were worried he was going to break something, seriously hurt himself. It turned out none of it happened – he was floating in mid air. After getting over how cool it was that he was levitating he tried to fly (upwards) and found that he was stuck – his father had to fly up and get him down.

Ever since then Fábián has been very interested in his ability and what he can do with it. A few years and several broken bones taught him that he wasn’t able to actually fly (and wasn’t that a sad day) just levitate. Of course, this was excellent fun with his friends when he would climb to the top of a tower and jump off, freefalling to his doom – only to stop himself a foot or so off the ground. This got Fábián into a bit of trouble but as far as he was concerned it was worth it.

When he was eleven years old he received his letter to the school his brothers had gone to before him – and hearing their stories he was only too happy to go to Durmstrang after them. Quickly he found that while he loved the social aspect of school – playing around with the students and professors, easily making friends – the school work itself wasn’t really for him. He especially found the theoretical subjects very boring – he could hardly get through a History of Magic class without falling right to sleep! Once he started to study Magical Creatures he really got into school though – used to being around all different animals – and found that classes were fine as long as he was doing practical work.

Getting through the seven years required at Durmstrang was relatively uneventful for Fábián – he made friends, had some fun and generally found that school wasn’t for him – not when he couldn’t just study the subjects he wanted and nothing else anyway. Since he and his brothers were only one year apart each and looked alike they were often referred to as the San’ko brothers – with Fábián as the youngest trouble maker, a title he enjoyed. With his charm and charisma, not to mention his ability to talk people in circles, he didn’t often get in trouble either – like any youngest triplet should.

After graduating he figured that he wouldn’t bother about going to university – neither of his older brothers had in previous years despite both their parents wanting them to go. Fábián had one lazy year off working for his father’s business, looking after the horses and helping with the animals. When it was insisted that they go to university (thank you very much for that Emmanuel) Fábián decided that he might as well study something useful and practical – so he went into Veterinary Science. With all the boys starting off in the same year he knows that he’s dedicated himself to once again being called ‘Hey you’re one of those triplet boys, aren’t you?’.

Family: Parents Sebestyèn and Amalia, older brothers Radek (21) and Emmanuel (20) and younger sister Viktoria (16).

Miscellaneous
Pet: Fábián has three winged horses that he considers his – one is kept with him at Elysion University (the male Notch), who is a large Palamino. The other two, a female Lissa and her foal Zumera, are at the San’ko property. Fábián also has two love birds, Sami and Maxie, which he keeps in a cage in his room, and a female red Siamese fighting fish named Rippa. At home, he takes care of the various animals that also live there, horses as well as a couple of dogs and cats.
Knowledge/Talents: Special connection with animals. First language is Hungarian but speaks fluent English.
Special Ability: Levitation. Fábián has the ability to fly in a very, very limited sense. He cannot propel himself upwards and can’t go around flying ala Superman. He can, however, levitate off the ground as high as he is able to go, and control his movement downwards. The best way to explain it is by an example – if Fábián was to jump into the air he could levitate in mid air as high as he was able to jump – he would be able to control his decent, but at no point propel himself any higher. If he jumps off a roof the same applies – he can levitate himself at any point and control his decent but never move any higher once he moves down.
Fábián also has a special ability that is linked with his siblings. It’s a telepathic link – but he can’t in any way hear their thoughts. He can only feel where the sibling is – especially with Viktoria more than the two boys. This is more than simply whether the sibling is in the room or not - Fábián is able to say with certainty that his little sister is hiding in the third closet from the left behind the coats five meters away. This made hide and seek as children difficult and not much fun. When one is feeling particularly strong feelings, such as anger or fear, each sibling is able to feel that from the other person, no matter the distance. This is especially useful when one of them is in danger, in order to help them more quickly. Fábián can identify and connect with Viktoria the most and sometimes feels emotions of hers that aren’t the really strong ones that his brothers require – but he’s very much in tune with this ability.
