![]() Main Information Name: Sol ‘Mikanon’ Kinawa, ‘mi’ means beautiful, ‘ka’ means flower, ‘non’ means sound. Nickname: Sol/Mikki (by people close to her) Gender: Female Age: 19 Birthday: February 19th Year: 9th Blood: Pureblood Wand: 11” Rosewood, chimaera scale core Previous School: Hogwarts Majors: Magical Arts – Music & Visual Arts Physical Description Height: 5’5”, 165cm Build: 47-48kg. Sol is very much underweight for someone her height. Most of her mass is muscle, not fat. Her body is very well toned despite her skinny-ness, her muscle prevents her from looking anorexic. She’s average in height though it is relatively taller than most Japanese girls, something she is quite thankful for. Hair: Wavy dark brown/black, though she often makes it a purplish or bluish shade if she felt like it. She likes to change her hairstyle, from short to long (with the help of some charm spells) and she prefers it to be messy rather than neat. Eyes: Hazel, though it is darker than Harlan’s. Most of the time it looks dark brown rather than hazel; you can only tell in the sunlight. The outer ring is darker than the iris but it sort of blends in which makes it look darker. Accent: Sol does not have a fobbish (Asians who can’t speak English) accent, but she does have a slight Brazilian one, similar to Han. She tries to neutralize it by sounding more European, though her Brazilian accent comes out more often than not when she’s annoyed or in a state where she can’t control her emotions as well. Ethnicity: Japanese, raised in Brazil Other: Sol has a [tattoo] on her right leg running from her ankle up to 2/3 of her calf, on the side. She loves to show this one off. She has another one on the right side of her body, right on the sides, of a [dragon] a little bit below her underarms to almost her waist. She loves to show them off (the one on her leg, mostly), though not a lot of people know about the dragon on her side. Sol wouldn’t exactly describe herself as a heavy make-up user, though she does tend to dramaticize more on her eyes. Most of the time she does the ‘cat eyes’ with the eyeliner flicked at the end of her eyes with dark colored eyeshadow, or all out eyeliner. She wears black mascara most of the time to lengthen her eyelashes. Other than that, she mostly wears a pinkish-red tint that’s not too pale nor too dark on her lips. Her skin is relatively white though not too pale, and she has a nice complexion that she rarely uses powder or foundation. She takes extremely good care of her skin though, using facial lotions and all sorts. It helps with the skin aging from the cigs. That’s why the only make-up she wears would be lipgloss/lipstick and eye make-up. In terms of clothing, Sol is very bold. On some days, she doesn’t give a crap about what she’s wearing (you could find her walking around campus with a big T-shirt, probably Han’s, and PJ pants/boxers/or shorts that is barely longer than the t-shirt) but when she feels like it, it’ll be a mix of everything. She’s the type who likes to spend most of her time outdoors and doesn’t mind getting dirty which is why she doesn’t really care about what happens to her clothes. Her ‘casual’ type of dressing is probably black skinny jeans or shorts with tank top or a shirt with heels. She is also a freak for shoes/heels/boots, she has many of them and doesn’t even wear all of them. She doesn’t have a lot of expensive ones since she works for them, as a model or part time clerk (or begs Han to buy them), so most of her shoes are probably from the flea market or second hand. She still loves them anyway. She does dress upon moods, and is either found with lots of accessories or hardly any. Here’s a few pictures to get an idea of what she wears: [One] [Two] [Three] [Four] [Five] Psychological Personality: One thing that stands out from Sol is probably her stubbornness. This is shown through the way she talks, dresses, and expresses herself. She’s quite rash in terms of her actions and the way she speaks; straightforward and perhaps a little too honest. She can hardly contain herself when someone is annoying her. Sol hardly tries to sugar-coat her words to comfort others, because she believes that through hardships is how you become stronger. She’s not too outspoken, but she will speak when she thinks something is wrong or that she needs to stand up for it. She’s very loyal, just as Han is, and she is very much family oriented. Despite the age gaps between her and her eldest two brothers, she always maintained good relationships with them and still sends them letters every now and then.

A bad habit of Sol’s is smoking. She’s a nicotine addict and can’t go on for a day without at least 1 (this being an absolute emergency), and this habit started ever since she tried to live with the fact that Han had killed their father. It was all an accident of course, but this was her way of dealing with it since the cigs makes her more focused and is an external obsession that makes her forget about the past. Sol is also an artistic soul. (No pun intended.) She’s carefree, she loves art, as it is a way of expressing herself, and music is her soulmate. She’s loved singing ever since she could remember, and that’s what gave Sol her middle name ‘Mikanon’ which literally means ‘beautiful flower sound.’ She really is like a free soul, because she’s so carefree that no one has tied her down before. She doesn’t know what love is aside from the family/friends kind of love, but she’s not really looking for it either. If she’s meant to have it, then the time will come later on. She doesn’t want to spend her time waiting for something that should come naturally. She’s friendly but not too social, in that she’s only friendly to the people she knows. She hardly bothers trying to meet new people unless they ask first, and the strange this is she will still talk to strangers despite not knowing their name. Sol is rather apathetic, she has a habit of not really caring about other people if it does not concern her. She does not like butting into other people’s businesses, so unless it’s directly involved with her (or someone she really cares about), she will not even bother turning her head towards it. ‘It’s not really my problem,’ she would say. Another thing about her would be how tomboy-ish she is. She grew up with Han and two other brothers, with only one female figure in the house who is also relatively strong. Sol has some girlishness in her that she would dress like it, though she would not act like it. She hardly whines; she does not rely on others so much and likes to keep her own business hers and does not like others probing into it. She tends to hide her feelings when she’s troubled, though people close to her could probably figure out what’s wrong with her by the amount of cigarettes she smokes. Sol strongly believes in gender equality. She knows that because of all the training and lifestyle she had, she would have no problem kicking anyone’s ass (though not as well as Han), and she despises the fact that most people view her as a fragile little asian woman. She may look like it, but once you get to know her, it is the complete opposite. History: Soon after she was born, the family was moved to Brazil without their father because of his position. It was thought to be temporary, but later on was betrayed, his name tarnished and was forced to move from region to region under a different alias. Sol was completely oblivious to all this, she had no idea what had happened to her father, and her mother had never mentioned anything. Manami continued to raise the 4 children as best she could with the help of Uncle Kenshi and Grandpa Ryuu. Sol grew up to be a tomboy, though both of her eldest brothers have moved out by the time she was 10 years old, and she grew closer with Han Sol never really had any real problems growing up, despite the fact that she didn’t have a father, Uncle Kenshi was there like a father to them. She had always wondered what it would be like to have a real father, and in secret she always wished he was there with her, having only very little memories close to nothing. She knows of her father’s accomplishments through her mother’s stories, and was heartbroken when her mother told the children that their father had passed away. Her dream of having a father was shattered, though she never told anyone about this. Sol would feel even worse if she told anyone and especially her mother, who might feel sad and think that Sol does not appreciate all the hard work she’s put into raising them, which is not true. Sol was glad for everything that she grew up with, because even without a father it was well beyond the average lifestyle When she turned 14, Harlan had received a letter from the Sunflower samurai who challenged him to a duel. Sol insisted that she come along, hoping to find anything about her father, and maybe the fact that her father might still be alive. It took them two years before they finally found their father, the legendary One samurai, but it was too late because Han had already injured him in the duel without any knowledge that he was their father. Both Sol and Han were devastated, and they vowed to never speak of it, returning to Hogwarts to continue their education. Sol started her bad habit of smoking, trying to deal with the tragic accident that has happened, though when people ask her why she smokes, she simply answers, “Why not?” It was not her nature to share with others her real personal motives, especially when it came down to something that was hurting her. After graduating at Hogwarts, Sol and Han separate for a while; Sol going to Europe looking for a university while Han went back to Brazil. It was easy for her to choose Elysion, especially since she already knows some familiar faces that comforted her in Hogwarts: Ryan (Han’s best friend, he’s like a surrogate big brother to Sol), Brianna (one of the few people she would confide in just about anything to, aside from Han), Kyle (the second closest friend to her), Atarah, and Kiera. She is now in EU, in search of inner peace and not much else. Family: Sol is the only daughter of the family: Takeshi – The eldest brother. ”Takki” or “Aniki/Oniisan” (more formal) Daisuke – Second eldest. ”Dai-chan” or “Oniisan” Harlan – Third eldest. (Sol is closest to him. They are the most similar compared to the rest of the family.) ”Han” or “Oniichan” (more affectionate) or “Hachi” (meaning 8 in Japanese, but it’s also the name of a famous heroic dog in Japan for his loyalty. Sol occasionally calls him this as a joke.) Manami Kichira – Mother (Sol is closest to her mother after Han. She has also adapted many characteristics from her mother.) ”Mama” or “Okaachan” Akio – Father (Hardly remembers any memories of him.) Uncle Kenshi – Mentor and fatherly figure. ”Kenshi-sama” (formal) or “Ojisan” (meaning uncle, formally) Grandfather Ryuu – Disciplined, respectable figure. Sol is very well behaved around him. ”Ryuu-ojiisama” (very formal) Miscellaneous Pet: Sol is fond of animals though she is not particularly attached to them. She has a fluffy brown and black striped cat named [Dio] as a companion, and it likes to stray around everywhere, though not necessarily following Sol. Knowledge/Talents: Sol has a beautiful voice that's pleasant to hear and whoever was near would feel comforted/happier/better/etc. and she can also pump them up by inspiring them and making them more energized through her singing. She is also knows 4 languages (Japanese, Portuguese, Spanish, & English). Also, like Han, she has gone through extensive training of martial arts around Asia, though not as vigorous nor in depth as his. She finds archery more enjoyable as well as the arts of using a katana (Japanese sword). Magical Weaknesses: Sol reasons with logic, and only partially with her heart. This is a weakness because most times she tends to sacrifice her true wants for something else that will please the people she loves. She is hardly selfish when it comes to making the people she loves happy. Special Ability: Phasing. This is the ability to pass through solid matter, and Sol can choose to turn it on/off as she pleases. She discovered her phasing ability when she was much younger, at the age of six years old. She was inside the house, playing around with Han, and locked him from the inside so he couldn’t come in. It was a glass door, and Sol was making funny facial expressions at Han to tease him when he walked away towards Grandpa Ryuu’s plants. “If you don’t let me in, I’m going to drop one of these pots and tell Grandpa Ryuu it was your fault!” Han teased, holding up a pot of Grandpa Ryuu’s beloved Bonsai. It wasn’t very audible to Sol from the inside, but she knew it had something to do with the pot and opening the door (what else could it be?) and just as she was about to open it, Han lost control of the pot (it was pretty heavy for a 9 year old to carry with one hand) and out of reflex, Sol reached towards him and said, “STOP!” Sol fell down, scraping her knees a bit but saved the pot as a bit of cushion landing just at the right moment when Han caught it with his two hands. Both surprised, they looked back at the window, thinking it was the magical one, and knocked on it furiously before their mother came to open the door and asked them what was going on. “Mama, mama, did you see? The window door thingy was magical! I could pass through it!” Sol exclaimed. “It did! I saw it too!” Han added, still holding the pot. It took Manami a while before she noticed Sol’s scraped knee and figured out what really happened. She explained it to Sol and Han slowly, though both of them didn’t really realize what kind of ability this would be for both of them later on. They just thought it was cool. (Han thinks Sol will cheat when they play hide and seek.) With the help of Grandfather Ryuu and his rigorous training, Sol managed to control her phasing ability (with hardships, running into a lot of walls quite often) and soon it became something that came naturally to her as breathing. Notes: [Approved MS] Sol has a very wide range of taste in music. Sol would look more like the rock type of girl but she actually loves all kinds of music, from classic to metal or whatever. She appreciates them all but probably, like Han, she'd prefer rock, hip hop, & R&B. When she sings though, it'll probably be more pop or classics. She -loves- Phantom of the Opera. She also loves to wear Han’s clothes. [Taken from Harlan’s profile: Aside from the emotional bond of brother and sister Han and Sol share, they also have a very deep psyche connection that has still to progress from the basic warning level in which they can sense whenever the other is in danger. As a cause of this and their own powers, whenever one of them think of the other and whisper their name, they are either teleported to or the other is to each other. For example, if Han is within a relatively short range from Sol and thinks of her whispering her name, he can teleport to her or teleport her to him and this works the same for Sol as well. It’s the only time she is actually able to do any kind of teleportation.] |
