![]() Main Information Name: Ophelia Rayne. Nickname: She is at times called Phe, though only by Ryan; most people she will get angry with if referred to anything other then Ophelia. Since her split from Kiera she was given the opportunity to choose a middle name for herself but declined, grateful for the first time to be attached to only her name. Gender: Female. Age: 21 Birthday: April 2nd. Year: Tenth. Though Ophelia is switching majors, and thus requires different classes then Kiera took, the basics of the necessary classes still hold effect and she must simply take on a slightly larger class load to fulfill her requirements. Blood: Half-blood. Wand: A strong dogwood branch with the dewy feathers of a swan’s underbelly. Previous School: Hogwarts. Major/s: Legal Studies: Law. Minor: Criminology. Physical Description: Height: 5’5. Build: Soft angles are what make up Phe’s face, though they are slightly marred, imperfect compared to Kiera’s sharpened features. She has a long jaw line, a nose slightly snubbed, and rather pursed lips that come together in a particularly natural beauty. The imperfections, though perhaps not strikingly obvious, can be found with careful study and the girl, while denying it, appreciates her small flaws. After living for years in a body almost irritatingly perfect she finds the details pleasantly human. She is also not nearly as skinny as she is accustomed to being, a healthy pair of thighs, and a plushy belly versus anything too muscular. In reality it is much healthier then she was once used to feeling. Hair: Perhaps her favorite redefined feature of her body is her hair, long lengths that fall down her back to her bra line, a dream come true for someone who was always denied longer hair. She has it cut in layers down her face, longer bangs falling on the sides, not in her face but denying her the unwanted privilege of slipping all of her hair into a ponytail. Eyes: A dark brown iris with darker streaks passing against the black pupils. Accent: A naturally based Irish accent having spent some time in Ireland in her youth. Ethnicity: English. Other: While she resided in Kiera’s body Ophelia would often dress particularly well, but now, with her own freedom she has switched up styles a bit. To match the darker tones of her hair she also wears various darker tones, though she enjoys throwing in random bursts of color, splashes so as not to be shown as too dark. One of her first moves after developing into her own body was to get her ears pierced, an operation far more painful then she remembered it, and she will often wear her favorite pair of earrings, leopard print hoops, dangling amidst her brunette hair. She has several small niches that make-up her wardrobe, like a tender love for socks, in particular toe socks. She also enjoys painting her nails, the freedom to do so overtaking a bit, as she will often dance them up in rainbow colors, bright oranges, light greens, and turquoise blues. Psychological Personality: There are far too many adjectives that could be spun into Phe’s personality, depending upon the moment, the attitude in which you catch her, or the time of the month. It also strongly rests upon who the recipient is and how much she enjoys their company at time. The base of her personality is crass, at times too open with her thoughts, and she has a hard time not snapping quickly when irritated. Before the boundaries of she and Kiera’s minds were fused together she had an incredibly one-dimension personality of base cruelty. Her opinions were entirely centered on the DE’s point of pureblooded view, though she herself is half-blood, and she did not go too far past the point of demanding what she wanted and when she wanted it. Everything was more or less as if she was a small child, selfish in every manner, and incapable of feeling emotions more prone to humanity. People’s feelings did not register on her radar and she liked it that way, however that all seemed to change when Kiera’s personality smashed into her own. She was suddenly open to the mortal realm of emotions and with it came the opportunities to be hurt and to feel bad, in other words, to develop a conscience. At first it was… frustrating, to say the least. She attempted many times to block off the human emotions but was by and by forced to face them. As her own person they are compounded even more, and probably have much to do with the heady development of her own ability, the ability to comfort upon touch. Though she is still entirely prone to anger, and distrust, she can no longer deny the softer sides of her personality that force her to care and she will often falter mid-temper to breakdown, or apologize in the err of her ways. That is perhaps the hardest part for her, to apologize for her mannerisms, particularly when dealing with the people around her that had become accustomed to her harsh ways. Most are entirely surprised by her switch-up of personality, all reacting in different ways, though in her opinion the ones that matter most have taken it overall in a better attitude; Ryan Kavanaugh in particular. The business minded wizard had a considerable amount to do with Phe’s personality change, including the latest development of feelings of affection, questionably even going so far as love. At first the young witch denied it, putting it off as Kiera’s emotions overlapping onto her own, but she was finally forced to face it as what it was. True, reality based enjoyment for the one man she had always sworn to hate. It had been unsettling at best, and their relationship however awkward, had been defaced in the eyes of many of Ryan’s friends. Both likeminded people in the ways of many attitude traits, they can often clash, sometimes more so then not, however their arguments have been mending themselves quicker of late as they have grown accustomed to one another’s more delicate “issues”. History: Since Ophelia did not have the customary childhood of most of her peers due to the dormant place that she held, caught within Kiera’s body, her past is something of a mystery to her. She will often describe her memories as fuzzy, blurred as if through someone else’s eyes, and many incidents will cause her to become detached, as if they did not truly happen to her. While some of this may be true, for they did in fact happen to Kiera, she experienced most of them same as the other girl. One of her most emotional memories was Kiera’s seventh birthday, the girl had hoped for a bicycle, receiving instead a broom and for some reason this had been particularly distressing to the small girl. She remembered running away, out of fear, or simple disappointment. Neither of them to this day were particularly skilled at riding a broom, though Ophelia now wants to learn, if simply to play light games of Quidditch with the others. While her childhood is a hard thing to correctly pin down Phe’s years at Hogwarts, when she first began to emerge, were more attainable by far. The final straw that raised her from Kiera’s mind was something stupid, an accident, caused in a Charm’s class where Kiera got hit by a stray spell. While the spell itself did no damage it did serve as an activating button, Kiera getting pushed over as Ophelia rose, confusion clouding her in that brief lapse. With Kiera’s memories, personality, traits in hand it was easy to realize what had occurred, especially after some long hours spent in the library. That first time she emerged she stayed for eight days, six before someone realized that there was something different about her, despite Phe’s best attempts to remain inconspicuous. It had been Brea who noticed the difference finally, pestering her about it, before Phe had finally broken and told all, or at least as much as she could truly understand of the matter. That she wasn’t Kiera. That she wished to be addressed by Ophelia, Kiera’s middle name. That she had been there for years, but everything was distant, as if she had been sleeping for years upon years. She demanded respect, feeling that if she had risen that she was by far the more powerful of the two and that she ought to be seen as such. This did not go over with Brianna as nicely as she had planned it out but by the time she had managed to piss off all of Kiera’s friends and her beloved sister, Kiera took control again. Though later she would find that Kiera had remembered none of the incident, mind filling in easy explanations for the eight missing days, she herself was now alive and active. For the rest of their years at Hogwarts she became stronger and harder to keep down, assisted by Brianna’s wish to not tell Kiera of the second personality. It was there that she met many of the people that would one day be at Elysion: Han and the Kavanaughs in particular. Though she and Tara never truly connected, Ryan and Kiera became fairly close, and Phe in turn became close to Ryan in an entirely different manner of speaking. Where Kiera would offer support she tore him down, where Kiera would hug him and tell him everything was going to be okay, she would slap him and call him a mudblood and where Kiera would shyly flirt with him, she would outright tell him her thoughts on the matter of physical attraction. Kiera went on to Elysion immediately after graduating from Hogwarts and by that time Ophelia was a strong presence, though still unknown. The information concerning her time spent at Elysion can be found in the accounts of her family. Family: Ryan Kavanaugh: Past:Though not family Ryan is a substantial person in Phe’s life, serving as a humanizing factor, and interest of much attraction. Their relationship has seen many twists and turns, perhaps the most surprising of all the acknowledgment of how much one really meant to the other. Since the split they have ended up together more often then not, though it is a hard relationship to understand, both rather brutal at times with their mutual emotions and feelings. Due to Ryan’s ability and Kiera’s comforting touch they can make up rather easily, when inclined, but there have been many incidents where this was not the case and their arguments can be often long and drawn-out over days of time. Not used to dealing with her newfound sensitivity for the human race Ophelia can oftentimes be easily hurt by the man, though she tends to bounce back quickly, knowing him better then most realize; him and his ways. Present: As her husband Ryan and Phe still struggle and fight and bicker, much as they often used to, though the love they inevitably have for one another is a strongly present. Their marriage was ridiculously fast, the same day that he admitted to loving her, and it was a whirlwind of activity after that, others going so far as to even bet on the lasting stance of their relationship. However they have been fine so far and are currently adjusting one another's styles. Christopher Rayne: Though Kiera never truly got along with her father, hiding the truth of her other half for many years, the few times that Ophelia did spend some quality time with the man were good. He was militant in his actions and yet they always managed to get along, if only due to Phe’s own harsh manner of dealing with things. Strangely enough, after she was split into her own body, they stopped talking near as much, connecting only over shallow, material things. He was the first to consider her a member of their family however. Lorelai Rayne: Ophelia and her mother did not have any true malcontent between them however their relationship was anything but personable. For a long time Lorelai saw Phe as a novelty item, as if she were not real, not meant to be as her daughter Brianna also saw. However, during one particularly traumatic fight between Ryan and the young brunette, she fled home, not knowing where else to go. There her mother, the only one home at the time, attempted to comfort her, connecting for the first time with her oddly placed daughter. They have since become quite close and it has become an issue of ill sibling rivalry that Ophelia gets along with both of her parents where both other girls have some issues. Kiera Rayne: What is there to say about her sister slash former personality sidekick? For almost twenty years they were morphed as one person, though Ophelia was only truly around since Kiera’s pre-pubescent years, she was buried within her dormant since birth. However due to her inactive state the memories of her childhood are often glazed over, as if they are blurry, seen through the eyes of a third-person viewer. Though she can recall several incidents, they are if they were happening in a story book, as if she was reading someone else’s past information. When she became an active member in Kiera’s mind she did not know for some time that she was a split, finding out before Kiera, and living vicariously through the information. She was able to hide her actions from Kiera, filling in the absences of time with false stories and memories, and taking out her actions upon those that Kiera was close to. She developed outside relations with several people, most who knew of her condition: Adrian, Brea’s fiancé who she had several rendezvous with while seeking companionship, or attention and Ryan, Kiera’s deeply invested love interest. While Kiera showed the boy affection, Ophelia gave him hateful passion, and their moments together were always heated and though she had often acted as if she cared nothing for the muggleborn, the reality was that he grew upon her. While most saw her as nothing more then the split psychosis of Kiera, Ryan treated her as a human being. Now Kiera and Ophelia’s relationship is strained past the breaking point and there is little hope on the horizon that Kiera will ever see anything more than in enemy in Phe. It is worthy to note however that, during a coma affecting Kiera that occurred after their split, Phe showed a strange weakness over her condition, fleeing to Ryan more then ever to bear the unexpected burden. Brianna Rayne: If relations between Kiera and Phe are twisted they are hard to even be seen between the elder Rayne sister and Ophelia. Needless to say Brea does not like Phe for what she has “done” to Kiera, although the new and improved Ophelia truly has no reason to dislike Brea. Other then for being what she considers to be a bit to high and mighty, though in truth, they are quite similar in that regard. It is surprising the amount of similarities the two actually do share and if they were to ever let go of the resentment it is probable that they could get along quite decently. It doesn’t help that Phe was at one point infatuated with Brea’s arranged fiancé, however that ship has long since sailed, and at times Ophelia is often forced hide in her pride that she wishes for some sort of sisterly bond between them. Miscellaneous Pet: Ophelia doesn’t have a pet, though she wants one particularly badly. Her pet of choice would be a chinchilla, fluffy animals that never fail to amuse the living bejeebus out of her. Knowledge/Talents: Her years spent hibernating in Kiera’s body were not all completely useless and Phe spent a good deal of time lightly dabbling in various law books, finding the subject intricate and interesting, though the hobby was kept silent and hushed up due to the small detail that she would never have been able to actively peruse it. With her new major in law she can put the years of knowledge to use however and appreciates the step up it has given her. In the useless talents genre Phe is also a whiz at hoola hoops and rather good at basketball, hand-eye coordination giving her an up in the department of aiming. She can also swim, though that is more of a pastime, and will often use it as something to ebb her temperament whenever in a fight with Ryan as the cool water seems to act as a counter-act against her anger. Magical Weaknesses: Although Phe is a quick whip with a wand, able to pull off complicated spells easier then most, and taking great joy in showing off for the general public, she often has a difficult time managing the more “boring” sides of her education. It was questioned at first why she went into such an obviously logistical side of the magical industry, law and criminology not the most active of majors, but though she has to force herself to work harder to succeed, Phe exhilarates in the departments and longs more then anything to become a successful lawyer, vanquishing foes in her day to day life. Special Ability: Against the obvious factors of her sassy behavior Ophelia has the ability of comfort through touch. It is not something that she can turn on or off, but merely depends upon her attitude at the time. If she feels sympathy for the person, or wishes to make them feel better, the warmth will ebb out of her fingers and body like a soft blanket. However if she is angry, or does not wish them good will, it is impossible to become a comforting beacon. Though outwardly Phe pretends to dislike her ability, mocking it as weak, she does appreciate it more then she lets on. It connects her to the small bud of mothering nature that seems to be growing within her as she continues to grow in this new human nature. Notes: [LM]
