Here are some answers to questions you may have regarding the forum:
I'm still adding things and tweaking things. Several things are subject to change, such as the categories, ranks, groups, and the board appearance. There is also a chance I may find bugs and glitches that need fixing still.
Nope! All the posts will still be there, there's no switch to flip to bring it out of BETA, it's just a decision. The user ranks are subject to change in name and prerequisite, but they won't be reset.
If the thread is "Open" (most will be), you will find a "Reply" button on the bottom right below the post, this opens the post/reply screen.
If you want to start a thread to post a story, a character bio, or anything else, head to the section of the forum you want the thread to be in ("Fall 2013 - Nefarious Nemeses" for example), and once again at the bottom right, you will find a "New Topic" button!
When you create a new topic for your story, you will find an upload dialogue that says "You can attach files up to 200 KB." If you hit "Browse" you can upload a word doc or PDF of your story for people to download!
Those are the three main member groups! "Legacy" is the group for people who attend our regular EpicWrite events. "Beyond" is for EpicWrite Beyond participants, that's are 18+. "Member" is the group for people who haven't yet attended an event, parents, or non-event EpicWrite staffers (such as boards members). All of these groups have the same privileges.
For liability reasons we cannot do that. "Beyond" was started because our EpicWrite veterans were getting into their 20s, and we really didn't want little 11-year olds at an overnight camp with 23-year old adults.
Those are Character Accounts! These are specifically used in roleplaying topics, anyone can make one, and you can have multiple, it just has to be a character that's been to an EpicWrite event!
Just create a new account as normal, and set the username as the character name (you might want to PM me and let me know the new account is a character). I will then approve it and add it to the group!
These accounts are for our event staff. They are the House Leaders/Mentors at the events. They also help plan out each event and make big decisions for the organization!
Yes! If you hit "Preferences" at the top right of the forum, you can change account settings, on that page you'll see a box with a gear and a box with a wrench. In the box on the left (with the gear), there is an option to "Change Username". You just type in the new username you want in the box on the page it takes you too, then I will approve the name change. Please ask any additional questions you have below!
