Wishing Star, for her part, could simply take no more. Bursting out into peals of laughter, the unicorn let slip any semblance of composure she might have been hanging on to. This latest revelation really did take the cake.

Sibylla groaned, this was just so painful, "I think I'd rather you both be cussing me out. This is far worse than anything I was prepared for." She continued to bury her face, at this point Wishing Star's howling laughter was getting the attention of several nearby tables. When it became apparent that not looking at them wasn't making them stop of go away she slowly removed the napkin and unburied her face from her hands; the whole truth would shut them up faster, "Fredrick is a friend of mine. He lives in Filly, he was kind enough to overlook my issues and we had a few liaisons, about half the time at his place, the rest at a neutral zone when I couldn't reliably predict how long I'd be awake." She sighed, "We only met a few times though and he left or I left before every change." She left out one detail that being that she had fallen asleep twice in the 'neutral zone' and couldn't accurately account for what happened after she'd passed out. In any case, she had barely lifted her jaw off the table to say this and was intentionally not trying to talk over Wishing Star's hysterics.

"So... Fredrick knows about your condition." Fireflaer nodded over her wife's laughter. "I can see why you admire him, it's not easy to find somepony, or griffon as the case may be, willing to accept such an... extreme issue. I can see why you're so quick to defend him."

Luckily for everypony involved, Star's laughter wasn't terribly obnoxious. Well, her laughing was quite rude indeed, but the sound itself wasn't as dissonant as it might have been; the mare had been blessed with a laugh that didn't end with a snort or rasp gratingly across the ears.

"Hahahaha...hee...hah...whew. Y-heh. Yeah, Fireflare's right. I mean, you're pretty good-looking for a catbird, but people who can overlook something like what you've got going on are pretty rare. So. Did you have feelings for Freddy boy?"

Terrible, that's what this was, terrible. She'd thrown away the idea at first, but now it was returning, she could toss a flash spell and flee while everypony was busy being blind. Then she could just ignore them and leave, disappear into the city. Augh no, then she wouldn't be able to get them to talk Iron into getting her more time. She picked herself up and said as firmly and confidently as she could, "No, it was a fling, purely physical." A bold faced lie, she'd come to like him a lot, but Fredrick wanted a normal gryphoness, one he could get rough with and wouldn't end up with a sprained wrist or hurt shoulder. She looked down at one hand as she mulled over the segmented memory. It had been weird and dissonant and she still had no idea what to make of it. The break up was a slow motion train wreck, she got a day to freak out then entered null space and woke up feeling terrible but knowing that several days had passed. It was painful and irritating and she didn't want to talk about it, worse yet her appetite was gone.

Despite herself she continued, though her tone was becoming more stressed and angry, "I got what I wanted out of it, he got what he wanted, Everyone was fine with it, besides you're not entirely right about me. I hardly meet the gryphon standard for beauty, at least as far as Fredrick said. Strength, power and confidence." She swirled her food with her fork, "I'm a bit light and flimsy, always said he had to treat me like a porcelain doll." She let out a low growl, now she remembered in full, the memories lining up, she'd been furious with the other gryphon, but in their last encounter he'd overpowered her, pushed her away and then left her with a smug last comment, 'That's why, 'cause you nearly broke from just that little.' She was clenching her fork now and an invisible black cloud now floated over her head, Fredrick wouldn't hurt Iron cause Iron would have hurt him.

Fireflare cringed. Okay, so obviously this issue went a bit further then she had thought....

Crap, what was she supposed to say?

"Hey, I wasn't talking about griffon standards. I said you're not bad-looking for a Griffon. In other words, I'm not a huge fan of the whole 'hulking she-monster' look. Why do you think I like this old ranger over here?" said Wishing Star, patting Fireflare with the hoof that was still draped over her shoulder. "She's not exactly fragile, but she's not some square-jawed block of muscle either. Lean and lithe is pretty, at least as far as I'm concerned. Call me shallow, but that's what I like. I also have kind of a thing for feathers, but that's beside the point."

She pulled the pegasus beside her closer for a moment and kissed her on the cheek. "I love you, hon. Even when you're being a blockhead." Turning back to the fuming griffon across the table, Star put on a sympathetic smile and leaned forward, letting go of her wife to put her elbows on the table.

"I know that look. That's the look a mare wears when she's got relationship problems and is trying to pretend she doesn't. Don't lie to me, Sibylla; you might have Iron's memories, but he was never any good at putting on a mask. No offense, but you have the emotional experience of a two year old, so don't bother trying to hide this from me. Freddy hurt you, didn't he?"

She spent another few moments driving the fork into her plate, half hoping it'd break so she could throw a fit and destroy it properly. The plate for its part was too well made to fail outright and after a few more frustrating moments listening to Wishing Star she snapped back, "Yes he hurt me!" For all the existential crises she could possibly have the one that hit after Fredrick had been around the concept that he knew she wasn't a real gryphon and that his contempt for her weakness laid with Iron's dominance as much as it did with her relative frailty. "Porcelain dolls are weak and frail and break if you drop them even a bit! He was strong I was weak, he wanted a strong mate, one who could take a beating give it out and control their demons."

She sat, remembering in a quick recap her first crisis, it had centered around how real she was, she'd been confused and angry. Concerned that the feelings and attitudes she had were all just projections of what Iron thought females thought. Then he'd come around, made her feel great for a few weeks? No it had been just a few days, interspersed across a few weeks. Her conciousness consumed by lust for a big strong Gryphon who seemed at the time to be interested in her the first few times, but then became less and less interested as he derided her weakness, her frailty and mocked her for having to share her body with a pony. As her gaze returned to Wishing Star, "He hurt me a lot. He raised me up, made me feel real when I was doubting myself, then just, threw me away when I failed to be tough enough for his sort of fun." She frowned, her voice morose.

After a moment of moping she clenched her fist again, and began grinning with maniacal glee, "And some day, I'm gonna be great at spell work and then I'm gonna fry his ass." She didn't add the 'I hope' that always followed such dreams of grandeur or add in the part about how she hated him but sometimes felt it was pointless since she couldn't even plot properly, how was she going to catch him on a specific day doing something if she couldn't expect to be awake on a particular day. It was frankly maddening.

"That's not how vengeance works. If you just beat him up, he'll survive." Fireflare leaned back. "Real vengeance, now... you have to consider exactly what Fred's like, figure out what he really considers the best about himself, and then make him feel as though he's lost it of his own initiative. Not that you've taken it away, but that he himself has succumbed to his greatest fear. That will break him more thoroughly then anything you could do with magic, and believe me it is totally worth the effort." She grinned ferally. "The best part? They recover, if you do it right, so you don't even have to worry about the guilt of destroying them completely."

She paused.

"...I had an interesting childhood."

"Fireflare, ella es dos años. Dos. ¿Lo entiendo? ¿Me estás diciendo esto a un niño de dos años. Vamos, jefe de bloque, pensar antes de hablar..." sighed Wishing Star, giving her wife an exasperated look. Yes, Sibylla was a fully grown griffon, but she was still only two. You don't say thing like that to little kids unless you want them to do it.

"Don't listen to the blockhead, revenge isn't worth the risk."

Too late Sibylla was listening and contemplating the new information, except that Fireflare was being much too nice about it. The gryphoness was midway through picking apart the idea for scraps of really good information when the waiter appeared, asking if they wanted refills on drinks or dessert for the lady who was done with her red noodles. "No thank you, this is enough." Her train of thought derailed she took to looking around the table for clues on where to go next.

Before her was a half eaten plate of food, one she'd gotten in spite of her normally required abstinence of meat. It stood still incomplete which brought a few deep seeded thoughts came to mind; one was that meat is freakin' delicious and two that she shouldn't waste food. With those in mind she returned to eating, hoping that her lunch companions would be done soon enough. However between bites she tried to change the subject, "So I guess tell me about the foals?"

"Supongo que tienes razón. ¿Por qué siempre estás bien?" Fireflare buried her face in her hooves. "Forget what I said, Sybilla, I'm basically a bitch."

Her ears perked at the next question though, and she smiled a genuine smile. "Moonshine and Glory Star, man, those kids are like wicked smart. I'm not even being biased here, Moonshine's already quoting Star's magic textbooks... I don't think he knows what he's talking about, but he can say these big words. And Glory... little Glory just watches everything. Maybe she'll be an artist. Starry, what do you think, will Glory Star rattle Canterlot with the best painting ever or won't she?

"That or she'll become the world's foremost stunt flier. I swear, that filly scares me sometimes. Between her perching on top of shelves and Moonshine building block towers that look like they'll avalanche and crush him to death someday, I can barely stand to take my eyes off of them for a second." said Star, grimacing at the memory of finding Glory Star on top of one of Moonshine's block castles. The little pegasus had wandered off at some point, and when Star had glanced up from her book, she had found Glory standing on the precipice of one of the miniature castle's battlements. Needless to say, her mother had had a panic attack about it. What if she had tipped just the wrong block off the side and gotten engulfed in a massive collapse? Wishing Star shuddered to imagine it.

Sibylla continued to eat as the two mares across from her got all gooey centered over their children. It was cute in its own way. She waited a for few moments after Wishing Star was finished to respond, "Well," She paused and nodded as if agreeing with something, while her mind feverishly worked to figure out a good response, "I can't wait to meet them. I'm pretty much done here, I don't have the appetite to finish, so I'm done." The plate before her was just shy of having been licked clean, "So why don't we settle up and get moving?" She quickly swept her things back into their pockets; some books having ended up being left on the table for most of the meal. Then she drew out a coin purse and waited for one of the others to call for the check so she could settle her part of the bill.

"Sure!" Fireflare had, somewhat wisely, failed to inform her wife of the times she'd caught Glory hanging like a bat from the rafters. She would have freaked out completely. "Hold on--"

Epic noms ensued.

"Okay, done. Let's... oh crap, do we even have time? I mean my next class isn't for a while, but Starry might miss something if..."
