Basic Package
  • When you begin playing on Equestrian Legends, you are limited to the standard pony trifecta: earth ponies, unicorns and pegasi. However, because we know some new members have long-lived OCs they wish to import from other games, each new player is entitled to one character type that would usually be unlocked at 50 or 200 posts.

In addition, these characters may have "mundane common" pets. These are the types of pet you would expect to see in our world. Songbirds, farm animals, dogs and cats, etc. If your characters exotic or magical pet is in some way pivotal to their playability, please contact a staff member to discuss your options.

50 Posts
  • When you have reached 50 posts, you unlock access to:
Mundane exotic pets: non-magical but unusual pets, such a lions, tigers and bears (oh my!)

Common Non-pony Character Types: Zebras, cows, goats, donkeys, mules, sheep and deer. Once you have unlocked these character types, you are free to create and play as many of them as you like.

Ritual Magic for non-ponies: You may now create mages for non-pony races freely (excludes dragons).

250 Posts
  • When you have reached 250 posts, you unlock access to:
Magical pets: These may be real world animals with unusual abilities, or mythical creatures. However, you may not create neodragons or phoenixes as these are regulated pet types.

Uncommon character types: Farasus, Diamond Dogs, Kirin, Seaponies, Kelpies, Quetzalcoatl, Morgrim and any hooved animal not mentioned before now. Having unlocked these character types, you may make as many of them as you see fit.

Special Talent in Magic: If there is an open slot in the population limit, you may make one unicorn with a special talent in magic. [18 spaces remaining]

500 Posts
  • When you have reached 500 posts, you unlock access to:
Pet dragons: Not to be confused with baby dragons, these unintelligent creatures are technically dragons but they are very much animals. They can be enchanted to send letters by firebreath, though.

Rare mortal character types: Changelings, Inukami, Giraffes and Flutter Ponies [24 flutter ponies remaining].

Talking pets: One character's pet(s) may now have the gift of speech. However, because they are not intelligent, it is unlikely that their vocabulary would extend beyond maybe a dozen key words, such as "food," "water," and "fight."

  • Pick one:

Dragons: You may make a sentient dragon character without any type of magical ability (breath ability excluded)

Queenlings: Assuming there is space in the population limit, you may make a single Queenling (a changeling capable of ascending to the throne) Three spaces remaining.

Immortal Ascension: You may ascend a single pre-existing character to Tier four, making them immortal and approximately as powerful as any three individuals of their race. They will become capable of ritual magic, and if they had instinctive magic before, they will retain it.

  • Pick one:
Phoenix: While phoenixes cannot talk, they are quite intelligent. You may create one as its own playable character or as a companion for an existing character.

Dragon mage: You may create a dragon with instinctive (unicorn like) magic.

Intelligent Animal: You may give the gift of speech and/or intelligence to any pre-existing pet or create a new such animal with this ability, effectively making them a PC in their own rights.

  • Deific Ascension: You may request to ascend one character, and only one, to Tier Three power levels, AKA Cadence tier.

All deific ascensions are subject to a staffwide vote, and must be approved of by at least 75% of current staff members. The results of voting are confidential, and you may not know who voted for or against your ascension. You may request additional votes later on.
