As we can see from the stats and videos of the next-generation video game systems, video games are getting progressively better, prettier, and longer. We'll reach a cap at one point, but I'm pretty sure that happen until at least a decade from now. Where do you think gaming will hit its peak? What kind of technology do you think games will use in the near and far future? |

We'll be in the actual environment! o.0 Fighting games! You'll feel the punches, and actually deliver them yourself! Ever wanted to go on an adventure, but you still want to be able to eat regularly? No problem, just buy yourself a brand-new RPG! You get an awesome virtual sword! Or you know, just mind control. Although that'd be awfully boring. Those two that I mentioned are things I would love to have. Simulation kind of thing. |

I dunno, sometimes the idea of being in the environment just seems a little...unlikely to me. Not because I don't believe we can do it, but because I don't see too many video gamers jumping up to start fights very often, and I don't see too many who really want to get stabbed or sacked by a 300 lbs guy. The virtual reality would really limit who would want to play what. Though I must say, the idea of facing Chuck Norris in a one on one Tekken match sounds awfully appealing, if I came out alive. |

Well, they're not going to make killer video games.... or are they? That's another for the conspiracy board. |

Well even if it's not lethal, I can hardly see too many average video gamers jumping for joy at the chance to be punched in the jaw. Now I imagine some more "hardcore" guys would give it a try, but in the end, games would become appealing to those who can already perform such feats, martial artists and such. And most martial artists probably don't spend all that long playing video games every day. The only real appeal I see to it is the option to fight or play football with anyone, anywhere on the globe. |

Yeah, good point... I'd still enjoy punching something that isn't a wall. Also: simulators. Lots of it. I'd take a jet for a ride myself. >.> |

I'd say it'll get to a point such as Virtual Reality. Although I think that would be dangerous. You know, if you die in the Matrix, you die in real life. There would need to be some sort of failsafe. But in the next ten or twenty years I see nothing but improved graphics and the expense of storyline. |

Once consoles reach the point to where the graphics and sound can't get any better, developers will probably start creating a different way of playing games. Instead of a controller, maybe some kind of virtual reality thing. I don't really know. They eventually need to start making them more like virtual reality. My dream is that one day sony or microsoft comes up with a machine like in the movie "Virtuosity." If you havent seen that movie, they use this really sweet virtual reality machine similar to the matrix where they train cops. You put on this helmet thing and then you are elevated off of the ground, kind of suspended in the air so you can run and move around in the air. it looks really amazing and i hope one day it gets to that point. |

Well actually, looking at the way things are progressing right now, I don't see it being either Sony or Microsoft who ends up inventing it. Nintendo is the one slowly working into that field as we speak. |

Although it's probably in no way possible, I hope we reach a level of gaming that resembles .hack//Sign. Sans the comas. lol |

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't that game start out with your best friend dying?
