If Iraq used WMDs against us= baghdad nuked into a cinder :o

As opposed to the shining jewel it is right now?
As said, they were going to lose regardless. They might as well go out with a bang.
...Matt was no exception to this. When he stood in the street and noticed his chest started to really hurt again, he made the decision to look down. He screamed like a grown man would scream when that grown man sees a laser burning his chest, and that is like a little girl...

Hahahahaha.

Yeah, there were plenty. They all had American flags on them, though, and most of them exploded pretty quick.

The best post ever to grace this forum.

If they use WMD, they will kill their own people that will turn all of Iraq against them and Iraq will become a democracy. It will also turn the entire world against Iraq and other countries might want to get involved. It will add to American morale and they will send more troops to Iraq. Every logical explanation except for they with going out with a bang points to not using WMDs.

That's exactly what is happening. They're killing their own people who happen to be in the background and they're being forced into a democracy.

There was no reason not to use them. Aside from the obvious fact that they never had any, of course.

The only WMD that would be worth using would be a nuclear weapon and we already agree that they didn't have any. A biological or chemical weapon would not have that much impact on an equipted soldier. They could have been in the making of WMDs too and they may not have been ready when the US attacked. There are many reasons not to use WMDs. I'm not conivinced they had them but I'm not going to say they didn't.

I'll say it. There were no WMDs. The Bush White House lied, flatly, to the world when they were dreaming up excuses to attack Iraq.

  • There were no WMDs.
  • There was no meaningful link to Al Qaeda.
  • There was no immediate danger of neighbouring countries under attack.
  • There was no immediate danger of a genocide.
  • There was no legal grounds (dubious or otherwise) for any kind of attack on Iraq.
Want to prove me wrong? Give me the evidence. Because without it? I'm slashing throats together with William of Occam.

Our justice system is sort of based on that innocent until PROVEN guilty thing.

I'm not saying that they have/had WMDs but their was a possiblity they did. You cannot just rule out that possiblility altogether. There are many reasons why they wouldn't use WMDs if they had some so saying that if they had WMDs they would have used them doesn't prove anything. I agree with [][][] that Bush lied to us about the reasons to go to war and he had much different reasons but that doesn't mean they didn't have WMDs whether Bush knew or not.

Yes, you can. Bush and his cronies said they had 100% proof of the existence of WMDs. They had photographs where they claimed they knew for a fact that such-and-such was being made over here and this-or-that was being made over there. Now you're telling me that these huge WMD labs just disappeared? Without being spotted by the flock of satellites that were undoubtedly watching them? And vanished into the desert?

One word: bullshit.

The WMD thing was a lie from the beginning. There never were any. I am as 100% sure of that as Bush wanted us to be 100% sure they were there at the beginning. And now, nothing will convince me there were any WMDs until I, you know, see them. Preferably in use. On Washington D.C.

As a person living in fallout range, could you beleive them if they hit anywhere a little further south? Like florida?

Our justice system is sort of based on that innocent until PROVEN guilty thing.

That's not happening to people detained in Guantanamo. They are assumed guilty, and most have been given no trial for three years (or a military trial, behind closed doors, if they're lucky).

Why should the American Government be assumed innocent when it does not treat its prisoners on that basis?

PS: Having read your post a second time, I think you may have been talking about Iraq rather than the USA there. In that case, ignore what I've just written.

She's standing in the ashes at the end of the world,
Four winds blowing through her hair.

I did mean it in terms of Iraq. What we're doing in Cuba is hypocritical of our stance.

I thought so.

Completely agree with you here.
