Do you think a second Cold War will ever occur?

I don't think so. Sure there may be a compitition between the USA and China, but we can coexist without the inmature rivalry of the last cold war.

Anybody who thinks the USA could economically survive a war of any type with China has Spam where their brains should be.

90% of your clothing alone is made in China. What do you think will happen to your economy when sneakers suddenly cost $700? Or if, instead, wages were forced down to Chinese levels so that you could continue getting them for their current prices? Or if companies decided instead to shut down because they can't keep "reasonable" prices and "fair" wages at the same time?

75% of your stuff--of all your stuff, not just clothing--is made in China. Walk into a Wal-mart and count the "Made in China" tags. Then do the same in the so-called "upscale" department stores.

If you get into a war with China--cold or hot--you'll lose in the long term, even if, in a hot war, China were to be obliterated by nukes in a day.

Wouldn't any period of tension between two parties that doesn't result in violence constitute a cold war?
...Matt was no exception to this. When he stood in the street and noticed his chest started to really hurt again, he made the decision to look down. He screamed like a grown man would scream when that grown man sees a laser burning his chest, and that is like a little girl...

I think a cold war implies that there is violence, just that the violence is indirect. More people died during the Cold War between the USSR and the USA than did in WWII -- it was just all done in small batches through client states around the world so people didn't add it up. Right now there's no cold wars brewing between major powers. Client state warfare is too '80s or something.

Greed will keep America and China on good terms at least for the time being.
