Wherever a hungry new born baby cries
Wherever there's a fight against the blood and hatred in the air
Look for me ma'
I'll be there

The obesity rate in the states is over 30%, and many are content with doing nothing. If there was a civil war, it'd run out of energy even before it got out the door.

I think the next real civil war will not consist of state boundaries, but an ideological difference that divides people.

What the issue is, I do not know.

Simple. The issue is:

Is there really a Bob?

In the unlikely event of another American Civil War it would be more like the English Civil War where there were no clear borders separating both sides and a territories alligence had nothing to do with geography

But a civil class war wouldn't be unthinkable - if we're just hypothesising.  It could have very easily have happened in the 1920s and 30s - the income gap is still growing, the super rich are getting super-richer and doing it more and more collusively and destructively, but this knowledge is becoming more and more available - who's to say that , if the economy takes another hit like the Great Depression,  the lower and middle classes wouldn't just get fed up and mobilize?

Liberty, Egality, Fraternity

Except for the fact that the effective left in the U.S. was completely crushed by the incredibly anti-socialist/anti-Bolshevik government a decade before the Depression hit. Without any strong unifiers, the lower and middle classes will not mobilize against the upper class.

That line's actually taken from the book The Grapes of Wrath, as said by Tom Joad.

And I don't think communism is neccessarily class-warfare. Maybe a possible end result of said warfare.

and "Liberty, Egality, Fraternity" was the rallying cry/motto of the Second French Revolution (Robspierre's). They were anti-aristocracy, anti-republicanism, pro-democracy.
