Does anybody know how many people are currently frozen?
I know that one guy has been frozen since the 70's

I want to do this for, say, 10 years.
Better start saving..
How cool would it be though, you get frozen then un-frozen, and to you it wouldn't seem like all that time has passed, so technically it's like going forward in time.
The only downsides are:
1. Back in 1979, 9 bodies had been found to have thawed, due to lack of funds. So you don't want that happening..
2. If there's a war and the Cyrogenics Lab gets bombed!

But if I had the money I would do it anyway.. when I'm 35 maybe.

I actually plan on doing this when I die. I don't worry about thawing out because I am dead anyway. It sure beats the hell out of lying in the ground or burning, and as of right now life is just too fun.

I mean Cryogenics sorry.

If I was the person thawing the people out I would play a nasty joke on them. Like dress up as a military leader and force them to be my slave and other stuff like that.
Dropped the atomic bomb let them know that it's real

You're going to do it when you die?
But then you won't be able to wake up in 50 years to see what the world has become!

HAHA. That would be good. Or pretend the world is ending and rush them to a bunker where they find a huge newscrew filming them for live tv

Hopefully life extention technology will be far enough along before we die so that we don't need cryogenics. However, if I had a spare £80,000 then it might be worth it.

Has anyone seen Vanilla Sky? Most of the film is rubbish, but it deals with cryogenics right at the end in quite a classy way.
A squatter's made a mural of a Mexican girl,
With fifteen cans of spray paint in a chemical swirl.
She's standing in the ashes at the end of the world,
Four winds blowing through her hair.

To the best of my knowledge, it doesn't quite work yet. I don't think anyone has been thawed out alive.
...Matt was no exception to this. When he stood in the street and noticed his chest started to really hurt again, he made the decision to look down. He screamed like a grown man would scream when that grown man sees a laser burning his chest, and that is like a little girl...

That is a Futurama episode.

Really, I don't watch futurama so I didn't take it from there.

Vanilla Sky did a decent job of describing an interesting scenario with this process in mind.

I'm just hoping that when they thaw my dead bdy out, they've already figured out a way to bring people back to life.

Yep, that's a noodle scratcher. Reviving Frozen Dead things is like bringing back Lazurus, without the fancy God talk.

Demolition Man is a good example of Cryonics, it's a great film too!

Currently "they" don't know how to thaw them out yet, but when they find a way, they'll thaw the people out.
