Clinton's fault? What news do you watch? Everywhere I look people say it was all Bush's fault.

I do recall Bush blaming his father for the 9/11 attacks. I wouldn't be surprised if he had done the same to Clinton.

Where were you? Was there an immediate reaction?

I was in Mexico at the time. I remember passing by a television and seeing the footage of it. At the time, I didn't much think of it, but even there, I do believe it was subject of some conversation.

I was in class, and the professor came in and turned on the TV and then went into his little suboffice. We didn't know it was some sort of terrorist action (not a word, me) until several hours later. We didn't know that they were buildings until an hour later, then it took another half an hour for them to say it was a plane. Everyone assumed it was an accident or something like that.
...Matt was no exception to this. When he stood in the street and noticed his chest started to really hurt again, he made the decision to look down. He screamed like a grown man would scream when that grown man sees a laser burning his chest, and that is like a little girl...

Every right-wing study on the intelligence failures leading to 9/11.

When 'terrorism' tries to instill fear, wouldn't it be best if we just ignored 911 instead of being a bunch of emos?

We were informed in third period English class when our teacher turned on the television. Everyone around me intently consumed the information that was presented. While they were consuming righteous propaganda, I sat there and pondered. My rational side knew that this was coming sooner or later, not only that but worse events have occured that not one of these kids care about.

An hour later, everyone had an analysis, fueled by the righteous propaganda they had previously consumed. It resembled a fierce chain reaction. That's when I decided I didn't like television anymore.

Yep. That's what France did in the 90s. Their people said "ignore it, don't let the terrorists change you" etc, and that's what they did. Terrorism works because it undermines morale, creates fear and changes the victims psychologically - it's certainly not an effective as a war of attrition, but it was never intended to be.

I remember seeing it on TV, thinking America had it coming, then felt bad for thinking that. It was only months later that I felt I could question what happened.

Why do we seek to place blame on Bush, or Clinton, or the CIA? Why not on the people who DID it (whomever that is).
We might as well blame the hallway moniter when a bully beats up a kid.

I agree with you but the hall moniter was trashing the bully and telling him that the kid could take him anyday.

Well in mine I was simply pointing out that, rather than blame the guy who was watching the situation we should blame the guy who commited the crime.
Like blaming the local police department everytime an old lady gets robbed.

Yeah, we shouldn't point fingers uneccessarily, but we do charge those in power with protecting us. We pay them money to look after us and we expect them to do it. Granted they don't always have the capability to protect us, but when they do have the ability and neglegently don't - it's our job, as the people to hold whomever is responsible accountable so it doesn't happen again.

We expect the hall moniter to keep the peace to the best of his or her ability; we expect the police department to keep the streets safe - it's their job.

Yes, it is their job to protect us. But it is not their fualt when something happens. It's the fualt of the person who did it.
It's their job to try and prevent it, and their job to punish those who tried to do it, but it's not their job to take responsibility for it happening.

Assuming America didn't plan 9/11, then why is America being blamed? Could we blame the police force if they could have prevented a crime by failed too?

But isn't that what you were saying?
