And if Brits were Americans at least we would have been able to stop Bush winning the election in 2000 and in 2004.

Not if your Supreme Court was packed with republicans, you wouldn't.

Or if the state in question for vote tampering happens to be the same state your brother is the governor(Florida).

its kind of wierd that the country which most supports democracy is obviously not completely democratic as the most hated president in history gets re-elected.

John Presscott what a legend- punched some dumbass fox hunter in the face.

Democrats would win by such margin in Britain it would never come down to a Supreme Court decision

Not trying to disrespect anyone's faith here, but you can thank the religious folk for that. When Bush preached his bullshit "higher morals for God" speech, a lot of people listened. Obviously he sold his faith to the masses better than he sold the war in Iraq. I just wonder how many of the people who voted for him twice think it's a mistake now.....

Was it a "vote of no confidence" that Blair received?

We have recall elections, although I don't know what the stipulations are. There is nothing here that is equivocal to a No Confidence Vote.

But you're right...Like Falcon said in another topic, It is a representative form of government, but it is not very democratic.

I would belive it was a vote of no confedence since its a Patlimentry system of government (same as up here in Canada, strange eh? ) so the Brits would be looking for another election. On the other hand if he just stepped down than the deputy PM would step up and there would be no election.

if the primeminister steps down then the party itself holds an election and a member of the party gets a nice promotion. the guy everyone thinks is gonna win is Gordon Brown.

john prescott is a joke, i can safley say that he will never be primeminister.

He'll never be Prime Minister but I still think hes cool: Prescott- "Oh god can I say that again? It was crap" Cameraman-"Sorry we're live".

Punched a fox hunter and give the finger to the press how cool is that? But then again we've been outdone by the Americans whose Deputy leader shot a man in the face......

it was accidental.

the punch on the other hand. . . . . . . . . .

look at the speed of him, for such an old man he is amazingly quick, he doesn't even pull his arm back or hesitate he just punches as soon as he realises who threw the egg.

jackie chan eat your heart out.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VRQDnGTcc4A

you can't see it on the footage but the farmer is trying to strangle prescott and prescott is hitting him again after the intial egg throw then punch.
