Read it here!

I guess for the 4th time in 8 years, Kansas is again changing the rule of teaching evolution in it's schooling systems. This is quoted from the article,

"Some religious groups argue that evolution cannot be proven and is not in accordance with Biblical teachings regarding the origins of life. Teaching evolution misleads and confuses students, opponents say."

I'm not trying to bash the Christian religion (although I myself don't believe it) but if you think that just because a book says something is true where as we have done significant studies on a subject matter like evolution, then you really need a shovel to the back of the head.

1) You are right, banning evolution OR creation is unfair and beastly.

2) Can you send me your avatar's bigger picture?

So, apparently these bible thumpers have found definite undisputed proof that Intelligent Design answers the question of the origin of life? Funny how evolution doesn't fit the Bible and now all of a sudden it's wrong. Teaching students the Bible in a public school is brainwashing and against the law. These people need to fukking get over themselves.

I'm Christian and I believe that evolution should be teached in schools. To ban the teaching of it is just stupid. School is for education, not religon.

The only thing I don't like about this is how people fail to realize that you can believe that God created the universe and all life on Earth, and that life evolved into it's current state. The people who take the Bible literally are the same people who believe that they can talk to God. I don't mean praying and God hears you no matter what; I mean they honestly believe that they can have a conversation with God. They exist, and they are fanatics, but luckily history shows that in the end of any struggle, logic and reasoning always win out after a lengthy struggle; this can be applied to ANY struggle in human history, from civil rights to the World Wars.
Deep unspeakable suffering may well be called a baptism, a regeneration, the initiation into a new state.

I feel bad for the kids in Kansas.

At least this is a step in the right direction. I just can't believe there is still debate about this, whether it is proved or not, evolution is just as valid as gravity. All evidence points to evolution and half of the evolution theory has been proven already. The problem is that it takes millions of years for species to seperate so we will never be able to truely prove it.

One nation under...

In ... we trust.

Putting God in the countries principles sooner or later strikes back I suppose...

My friend linked me to that the other day. I found it particularly good because it also shows you why these Christians think what they do, although most of it appears to be be kids parroting.

"God said it,
I believe it,
That settles it!"

It got removed do to violation. Lawl. (The video.)

Banning Evolution is asinine IMO. Evolution has more tangible proof, where as God and the bible is a faith based idea. Thus there are three kinds of ideas.

Ones based on fact. (Scientific.)
Ones based on faith. (Religion.)
Ones based on stupidity. (Most of Bush's policies.)

Speaking of which, banning the teaching of evolution should go under the third kind of idea. Aside from the fact it's science, and it's smart to learn, other people believe it. By not learning about other people's beliefs, you could accidently offend them. And that's bad. (I think?)

Another example is prayer in schools. People are idiots. Most people are too stupid to realize the "no prayer in school" thing applies to only mass prayer. The teachers, staff, or principals and etc can't have prayer. They can't force it either. (For class or school.) However individual prayer is allowed. Again, most people think they mean the latter isn't.

So, I have a proposal. Lets ban ignoramuses who just want to shove their ideas on others from school.

I endorse this message. My grammar isn't flawless, but damn, most of Internet-using Americans manage to butcher the language.

Actually, I'd like to extend that from "Americans" to "the whole world."

That's rather embarrassing...
Anyway I saved the video, but it was too big to upload so I dubbed the audio over:
http://members.optusnet.com.au/sos21/CvE3.mp3

The only things you don't get from the audio are some billboards with stuff like "evolution is from the devil" "evolution is science fiction" "Darwin is dead, Jesus lives" as well as the one I quoted above which was shown during the "who should you trust first, God or the Scientist?".
