Not really...well in Toronto, the most multi cultural city in the world, no race can really clam superiority over the over because it is pretty well balanced and very tolerant. As for Quebec, I have no clue, I have never been there. And yeah, some of there bad behaviour is rubbing of on us. Happy to see there is a fellow Canadian on the forums. Where are you at in Canada, what city? |

Bah! This is just some left wing crap who thinks that Communisim works. We in America need to go back to when we were united. Remember WWII? We need to go back to that time where the whole world was with us and we worked for the greater good. That goes for the UK as well. |

And the results are in:(all rankings are out of 21 countries, the higher the better) US: Poverty and Inequality- 17 Health and safety- 21 Education-12 Family and Friendships- 20 Sex, drink, drugs- 20 Happiness- N/A Average- 18 (second lowest) UK: Poverty and Inequality- 18 Health and safety- 12 Education- 17 Family and Friendships- 21 Sex, drink, drugs- 21 Happiness- 20 Average- 18.2 (lowest) Neatherlands: Poverty and Inequality- 10 Health and safety- 2 Education- 6 Family and Friendships- 3 Sex, drink, drugs- 3 Happiness- 1 Average- 4.2 (highest) Utterly pathetic on the part of UK and USA And just to add insult to injury Dutch students supposedly only have homework in the last year while in the UK we are supposed to have at least 45 minutes a night from age 9 until we leave. |

We don't even know how these catagories, some of which are hopelessly subjective (friends, happiness), are measured. This is just another worthless UN hit piece against the only two decent western nations, US and UK. Edit: Its like living in upside down world where good is bad and lies are told as the truth. The "world" is so fundamentally out of touch with reality its shocking. |

I have to agree with Falcon here. Using these categories to rate a nation would be like using the category of "cars", "clothes", "brand of shoe" to rate individual cities. Way too subjective to do an accurate study. Maybe they should use some other more realistic stats like "survival rate", "employment rate", "average pay" or something that could realistically be measured. |

Well most of those were put together from hard statistics but of course I could write those all down, for example Sex, drugs and alcohol would be compiled through surveys on teenagers, teenage pregnancy rates, drug deaths, convictions etc etc. Britain has a crap school system, the NHS isn't great, lots of people live of benefits- I'm really not suprised. |

The education system is the only thing that I can think of which is clearly broken. Sex, drugs, alcohol...isn't that all just the hallmarks of a progressive permissive society? Isn't that what everyone has been clamoring for all these years? Isn't that stuff legal at even younger ages in places like Denmark? I fail to see the problem. |

I'm going to fix the one on the Netherlands for you: Poverty and Inequality- 14 (Ever been to the Bijlmer?) Health and safety- 5 Education- 6 Family and Friendships- 6 Sex, drink, drugs- 8 (Cannabis isn't legal at all, they just legalize doing it, but you can't get it anywhere 'cept in the coffeeshops-which are massively being closed down. Same for shrooms.) Happiness- 6 (Ever had a look into the live of someone with median or lower income?) Average- 7.5 Homework: depends on the school. Most secondary schools give you shitloads of homework. Some don't, instead you get a shitload of work in school itself. -Dirk |

this is rubbish, while i am sure the UK and the US are not the best at taking care of their kids i am damn sure we both do a great job of it and it is just insulting to say that you have mesured happiness and other things tio that accuracy when it is impossible to mesure emotions like that. |
