What, the stock market? And how the chinese and a well placed computer glitch screwed every investor in the world? |

I was sitting in the park one day and wondered why frisbees look bigger as they get closer to you. And then it hit me. | |

The stock market was overinflated, just like it was in the tech stocks in the '90s. Frankly, it's good to have a crash. Sweeps the amateur idiots from the investing field so that the economy can work on production instead of the investment lottery. |

Also, is it just me, or is buying stock little better than gambling these days. The typical stock doesn't pay a dividend nor does it entitle you to a portion of the assets of the company if it goes broke. Your only hope for profit with most stocks is to sell it to someone else at a higher price. All you're doing in the mean time is loaning the company some money. |

There's a reason why I call it the "investment lottery". Investment is a pure scam. I'm not sure if it was ever any different, but from the point where investments were something I had to look into, it was. |

Yeah, they have crashed, and not a little either. $ingapore lost 19% (!) if I recall. China about 7%. (heard it in the news, I can be totally wrong) -Dirk |

Well, this years growth is gone, but nothing more. Just hope Shanghai doesn't sneeze again. Let this also be a lesson to al those who don't sse the global interdependancy the rest of the world has on China, esp. the US. It used to be when we sneezed the world caught a cold, now when China sneezes...can anyone say yellow fever? |

Hey guys, remember that thread a while back where a certain someone argued for the dependance the world has on China, and a certain few members wouldn't hear any of it? =D |

Your arguement was flawed, I've been there. You argued a solid dependency when there is clearly an interdependency...besides the hiccup only proves that China is not the super strong extra special dominate the world economy you thought it was. |
