I just started the Dark Tower series yesterday actually. Only 100 pages into the first book so far.

Oh forced reading... Time Trap. The most incomprehensible thing i have ever read. Well when i say read i mean struggled to figure out what the hell it was on about. I wanted to read Christine but nooo! I had to read some book that looked like it had been dragged down the local airports runway by a speeding car! Thats another problem! The books are either old and worn or old, worn and written in Ye Olde English.

Reading the Darktower Series by Stephen King. Pretty good I have to admit, I acuttally want to read the next book...

I am your new best freind. Whenever you have a question about the series....ask me. Those seven books were my bible for years. I started reading the series back in 1988...I bet you weren't even born yet! There is also a fantastic website it's a fansite, maintained by the hardest of the hardcore tower junkies.

If you ever have Tower question, do not hesitate to ask me.

lol you're right Sinister I wasn't even born yet!

I think the Darktower series looks to be one of the best series I have ever read. I never was really into Stephen King until I read his short stories (Everything's Eventual) which I read in like two days. Then I say the Gunslinger in a bookstore and thought what the hell, and bought it.

I've finished the first book but I don't have any of the others, so it might take me long to read. Anyways I have one question for you:

**SPOLIER ALERT**
Did you want Jake to die or not when Rolan let him fall? Also I do not want to know if Jake comes back or not but I'm pretty sure he does...
**END**

More forced reading for me. I'm now being forced to read "The Secret Life of Bees." It's actually not that bad so far and I hope it'll stay that way.

Well at the point it happens I felt it was supposed to happen. Roland has to make the sacrifice of an (adopted) son in order to get to the Tower. I don't think he had any choice, he was too ignorant of the Tower not to sacrifice ANYONE and EVERYONE for even the slightest bit of knowledge. In the position he was in....well, sometimes there is no choice and you just HAVE to drink the kool-aid, no?

Right now for Roland, it's kind of a choose your own adventure novel. Each of his decisions and encounters will weigh heavily in the coming books...especially the decision to let Jake drop. That doesn't mean he comes back. Hell, at this point you really can't be sure he ever went anywhere, no? Or even if he was even there at all or if it was the man in black's specter or spell, or if he was the product of a delusional gunslinger.

Good last points on whether or not Jake was real or not. I really didn't think he was when Roland first met him but further on he kinda grew on me, but I knew Roland was gonna kill him. That's just who Roland is. And that's what makes the books so kicka**.

Anyways just started the second book, The Drawing of the Three. What the hell are those lobster things?
