Timetravel Paradox; a small one..

I know that this is probably something many of you have thought about yourself but here it goes:

If time traveling will/is exist(ant) in the future, then wouldn't someone travel to our time and share information, technology ect with us? At least visit themself as a child or something trivial.. If time travel is possible then wouldn't we have seen plenty time travelers throughout our history?

The thing is, in most sci-fi movies ect, they eliminate that fact by having a law against going back in time because if they accidentally changed something that could change the whole future because of the butterfly effect. Then whats the point in time traveling if you cant use it?

I just wanted to hear your thoughts about this dilemma :)

Yep, that's an old one. Also the fact that it's quite actually impossible as time is a constant.
