Found this neat video someone made using clips from the History Channel's recent show, Life After People. The show details what would happen to our cities, roads and bridges if everyone on the planet simply vanished, for whatever reason. I ordered the DVD after watching the show. This video gives you an idea of the neat CGI and graphics they used in the making of Life After People

I loved that special. It was fascinating to see mankind's towers crumbling and Times Square becoming a forest.

It does make you think... If we vanish, after a few centuries the only thing left signaling we were here would be Mt. Rushmore.

The DVD can be ordered from the History Channel's website. It won't be shipped till the end of Feb but you can go ahead and preorder it. Its very interesting and well worth having, in my opinion. Here's the link

Two problems...

  • Ships to the US and Canada only (I'm Dutch)
  • I don't have a credit card, I'm under 18.

I hear there are other sites that will be making this video available for download approximately 24 hours after the first copy is shipped.

And ultimately, we will be gone, to dust and less than dust. Our buildings will crumble, our artifacts dessicated into annihilation, and nothing, not even the faintest echo hurtling the radio waves into space, will announce to the world that we were ever here. It will be as though no one, not you, nor I, not a one, had ever strode the Earth. It is from Oblivion that we came, and to Oblivion we shall return. The last human will die screaming into the night, and no one will ever know.

Have a nice day.
All right, you primitive screwheads, listen up! You see this? This...is my BOOMSTICK!

That just about sums humanity's importance to this planet up.
