Basic RP Battle Rules

First off I want to welcome you to what I think is the most awesome section on any forum. RPG Battles are amazing, both to do and to watch.

So an RPG battle is basicly a kind of mock battle. We have two contestants, both contestants pick a character they will represent, be it an anime character, manga, video games, real life, doesn't matter. You pick someone, your opponent picks someone and you basically pretend to fight each other using words. You do this by describing what your character does and how he attacks him. The other guy will obviously defend and try to attack in his own way. But RPG battling is more than that. It's purpose is entertainment for readers. You need to add conversations to your fight. You need to stay in character and make it fun to read. It is NOT about winning!

To prevent people from saying: I am omnipotent. I shoot you through the head you are dead, etc. We have a couple of basic rules you have to follow. You can decide not to follow these rules but both you and your opponent have to agree to use other/modified rules.
Please do not disobey rules, repeated offences may actually result into warnings, and I'd hate to have to warn someone in an RPG Battle.
Obvious trolling will result into immediate warning. Don't come here to troll. Try to have a serious fight and entertain the others.

So without further a do, here are some basic rules:

Rule #1: You can only describe your OWN actions! No autohitting!
Remember that you can only describe what your character does, what he says and what happens to him, you can never say anything about the state of your opponent, nor can you say what he says (there are exceptions if you're quoting a previous post) and above all, you can not decide wheter your attack hits an opponent or not, even if it's melee combat, you can say if your punch is headed for his face, but it is for your opponent to decide wheter he dodges it or takes it.

Rule #2: No haxed abilities
This means that you can't have abilities that obviously give you an upper hand or allow you never to die, among these are regeneration. This would make it too easy, your opponent hits you, what do you do? You regenerate. It's too easy. The only exception to regeneration is limb regeneration. I will allow regeneration of an arm or a leg if you can prove your character is capable of doing this and you can only do it once per match!
Other examples of haxed abilities are: Stone Spit (Dabura-DBZ), Chocolate Beam (Buu-DBZ), Tosen's Bankai (Bleach) and Soifon's Shikai (Bleach).
If you are not sure wheter an ability is haxed or not, don't hesitate to ask.
There is one exception: If your opponent is clearly able to somehow defend himself against a haxed ability, then you are allowed to use it. Let's say someone has the ability to suck souls (this is generally seen as haxed) but his opponent can manipulate their soul, then you are allowed to use this haxed attack

Rule #3: Don't be a little B*tch!
Most of all I want to say to you guys, that losing a match doesn't mean you lost...
It sounds weird but it's true, the true winner of an RPG fight is the one who caused the most entertainment for readers, so if your character dies it doesn;t mean you were a worse RPG fighter. In a lot of cases the loser actually is the better RPG Fighter. (I can vouch for that, ask Daemon he'll tell you how good I am at dying)
All I'm asking with this rule is not to constantly dodge everything and regenerate. Please take some damage from time to time, and maybe you could even consider dying for a nice dramatic effect.

Rule#4: How to operate in free-way matches
Some of these fights may become more than just one on one. It may become a three way match, or two teams of two or even more. Such fights become chaotic.
For one hyothetical instance, there are four fighters, Players 1, 2, 3 and 4 in a free-for-all. What will happen is this:
Player 1 takes turn. Player 1's next turn begins at the end of Player 4's turn.
Player 2 takes turn. Player 2's next turn begins at the end of Player 1's turn.
Player 3 takes turn. Player 3's next turn begins at the end of Player 2's turn.
Player 4 takes turn. Player 4's next turn begins at the end of Player 3's turn.
Skipping of a Player's turn is a disadvantage to that player and therefore may make it less fun for them. However, there may be times where a player may become too wrapped up in other matters to post in the battle. At that point, the player may decide to opt out, skipping the rest of the fight in a loss.

Rule #5: Make it clear when you're battle is done
This is not really a rule, it's just a suggestion from us that you notify us clearly when your battle is done so other can give you feedback. This feedback will sometimes be negative, but remember that we are just trying to help you and make our content in this section even better.
An example of a clear notification that the battle is over is:
COMBAT CONCLUDED

This being said, I want all of you to have fun!
