they look the same, except for the brightness of the blue, blu rays are way overpriced

Those pictures don't actually represent how much better a Bluray looks then a dvd. lol. When you use Bluray on an HDTV it looks MILES better, and much clearer. DVD's already look fine though, so it's really a matter of how good you want a film to look. (Also, don't get older films on Bluray if you expect them to look better, they wont ever look any better then the original print, so an old film will only look slightly better on Bluray).

Also they don't scratch as easily, and carry more memory, so therefore have more special features sometimes. (not often enough though...)

This.

And lol... most Blu-Ray's have a TON more special features than the DvDs. Friday the 13th, FD5, ANOES Remake (NO DvD SFs), etc.

Also, I only buy a bluray if I really know I love the movie first. I wouldn't pay extra on a movie I've never seen, for instance. xD

Blurays for a movie I really want.
DVD if its an okay movie, or its the only option.

I really prefer getting the Combo packs with Bluray and DVD (but all movies don't have them)

All movies SHOULD include both, imo. I sometimes want to watch films on my computer but cant because they are bluray. lol

LOL

Blu Rays only have more special features because the douchebags in charge of them make it that way and have been putting more features on BRs lately than DVDs. Why? To get people to buy them. I like the combo packs especially when they're cheap (like the PA3 combo I got for $8).

I've seen a ton of films on Blu Ray. I saw no difference.

And the cases look like shit.
