I can tell a huge difference with SOME newer films, especially high budget action films. Still prefer DVD a lot though. |

Blu-Ray has more disc space, better quality, better audio, and usually more special features |

(yes) But I WILL admit that Blu-Rays save a little more space on a shelf. |

True but since when was having a TWO Disc Special Edition a bad thing? And like Ive said, Ive only really noticed a big difference with one or two movies. As for the special features? Blu Rays ONLY have more special features than DVDs because the creators use that to 'force' people to get Blu Rays instead of cheaper DVDs. And yeah...I hate Blu Ray cases. |

Somewhat this. I see a HUGE difference with films like The Dark Knight, Spider-Man, etc. Then again with some horror films I had (Detention, Zombieland, Fright Night 2011, F13 2009) I could BARELY see a difference in quality. |

Seriously though, if you want an example. Play a 480p video, and compare it to a 1080p version of the same video. It's exactly the same when it comes to DVD vs. Bluray. Also I played a dvd vs a bluray directly next to eachother (It was my exorcist dvd vs bluray) and it had a VERY noticeable difference. Edited by TheCheetahwings, Oct 26 2012, 08:44 PM.

Dawn Of The Dead (2004) is still pretty much the only movie that comes to mind right away when it comes to a quality difference. And alot of the 'crystal clear' stuff is pointless and actually takes away from some films (like 70s films, Grindhouse-style movies, etc) and makes them look TOO clean and 'nice.' THeres a certain charm to movies that have a bit of 'crackle' and 'fuzz' to them. |
