Look, were not going to force anyone to change their sigs if it's not pornography or something. BUT, it's highly suggested you change it up a bit and arent constantly doing MLP, or a pop star. and do SOME horror.

You are a queen ♥ Oh, and I'm sorry ~ But pop music is used in some horror movies. It's not our fault that Britney's army is more dedicated than rock fans. We check for Britney, because she's relevant. The Britney thread just goes to show how much of an impact she has had on most of our lives. I doubt that thread will scare away new members because almost every forum I have ever been on had a very active Britney thread. Honestly though, if I were a new member and I saw how much the childrens TV section sometimes takes over horror, I probably wouldn't stay for long. |

I was actually thinking about this, and have more to add onto your post. Stuff like ponies, barbies, and Britney (even though i love the last two), will more than likely bring teeny bopper losers who think 'Twilight' is a horror movie, instead of actual horror fans who have actually seen horror movies made before 1998 :/ I dont think discussions about Britney Spears, etc should stop, but i feel like alot of non-horror stuff is being discussed more, and horror is being put on the backburner. |

Britney fans aren't teeny boppers anymore. They are usually 17-24. |

The Children's TV section IS a bigger issue than the Pop threads, I admit. BUT the Pop threads ARE usually more active than the Horror ones, and last I checked, Pop music does nothing more influence-wise on our lives than cause gay teen boys (myself excluded, thank the Gods that may be) to become obsessed with only ONE type of music as opposed to broadening their tastes and embracing all types. For a long while, the Pop threads were the big issue, bringing more comments than film threads (wrong on so many fucking levels, but that's just me). Britney hasn't brought an impact to my life other than an annoyance toward those who act like she's one of the best artists ever and one of the only musicians worth discussing. Do I hate her? No, not at all. Do I respect her? Yes, in-fucking-deed. Do I believe she's more discussion-worthy than horror films on a HORROR MESSAGE BOARD? Oh god, FUCK no. Not at all. Platinum Prince, thank you for your post btw. It sickens me that alot (but certainly NOT all) pop-kiddos only like the Scream films and others of that era. That's not what horror is 'about' and its certainly not what this forum is geared toward. |

Would you like me to list the top ten ways she has changed my life? Most people don't post in there for her music, rather for her as a person. IMO, she is the greatest artist of all time. I also have a very broad taste in music. Britney and Lana are completely different. If I couldn't talk about her here, I don't know whether I could stay or not. |

I honestly could care less about how popular pop is on this forum. It's normal. It's like that in real life too. The only thing that really concerns me is the children's tv shows, because at least the Britney GIFs are nice to look at. |

What you dont seem to get is that you really ARE NOT the problem here. Instead, others are, who ONLY discuss Pop, Kids Shows and so on. I may not share your taste but I won't bash it UNLESS you give me a reason to (and you havent given me one just yet). All Im saying is that Pop shouldnt be in even the top TWENTY primry focuses of a Horror forum (nor should any music, tbh) and that Britney hasn't effected lives anymore than any Rock artist (for example, Placebo, Fleetwood Mac and Evanescence have all 'helped' me through rough times including a deadly-disease-diagnosis about six months ago) and that rock music is just as important as Pop, if not even moreso. But this should go in the General Music Discussion thread in the Music section, eh? As for her being the greatest, I respect your opinion. To me, Tarja Turunen is the greatest (or ranks close at least), but yeah, that's just me. |
