A mother and daughter move to a new town and find themselves living next door to a house where a young girl murdered her parents. When the daughter befriends the surviving son, she learns the story is far from over.

Read the script a while ago and while it had a nice twist and a creepy atmosphere, some of the dialogue was dreadful and I didn't really care for any of the characters. Not gonna rush out to see this in theaters.

This is the real, OFFICIAL forum we moved to. No trolls, no drama, plenty of horror discussions.

I think you're making preconceptions about a movie that you have no idea how great it is.

Just saying. You have to give it a chance, its a very powerful film.

Rotten Tomatoes summary:

Actress-turned-director Lori Petty makes her feature directorial debut with this period drama set in 1976 that explores a typical day in the life of a decidedly atypical teen named Agnes. Some folks have the luxury of living each day to the fullest, but for Agnes every day is a grueling struggle for survival; her mother is strung out on drugs, her home has been overrun by degenerates, and her only father figure is a pimp. For Agnes and her two younger sisters, this particular day will be marked by both tragedy and triumph, but which will resonate most in the days and weeks to follow?

But when you see this movie, you'll see why people like me (who are true fans and have seen more than just the Hunger Games) know that she is an extraordinary actress with amazing talent and skill.

Dramas are basically my second favorite genre after horror. They show a lot of true emotions, and are always more entertaining for me then your average Rom comedy (though I've seen SOME good romantic comedies).

What else has Jennifer been in besides Hunger Games (which is one of the most overrated things on the whole damn planet, blech)?
X-Men First Class and Winter's Bone
