Part 3 also. :)

The leg cutting scene in Beginning makes me so sad. </3 Someone in the family who didn't deserve that.

TCM 3's family is by far the best imo.

Who is everyone's fave family member?

He was kinda hot too =U

I also really love Luda Mae, Sherriff Hoyt, The Little Girl, the cancer mom, the Tea Lady, Chop Top, and Leatherface <3
So did anyone have a victim they felt the worst for?

Tex and Dean should...UNF. I totally ship the hell out of it. <3.

Hmm. I've always had soft spots for:

Sally
That one girl in TCM 3 (Not Michelle)
The hitchiker in the remake
Pepper
Andy
All four in the group in TCM: TB
and a couple others.

So I have never seen a Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie but am sort of interested in seeing the remake(?) (if I can rally up enough friends to make a thing out of it). I really don't like jumping into a sequel/remake without watching everything that comes before it but I don't think I'll have the chance to watch them all. As such I was wondering what are the MUST SEE films before seeing the remake. These don't necessarily have to be the "best", just the necessary ones to get the most out of the story (i.e. Origin, vital plot points for the series, predecessors)

If I remember, the new 3D "remake" isn't really a remake at all but is a sequel to the original 1970s movie, correct? Would watching the 70s film be recommended? Would watching any of the remake series be recommended and is it in any way connected to the original series? Bonus points if we can narrow it down to two, so I can have a double feature before the film with friends as we are accustomed to doing, but if not then I'll just carry on without them and catch them up to date before.

The remake pretty much discards a lot of the things about the plot in the original and makes a new plan, so you're fine seeing it (You mean the Jessica Biel one, right?) No connections and the remake (though well loved) isn't anything TOO special IMO. The Beginning is brilliant though and I highly recommend it

Beginning > 3 > Original > Remake > 2 > 4, IMO. I like all of them though. Connectionwise~
Remake -> Beginning
Original -> 2
Original -> 3D

3&4 are both standalone

Texas Chainsaw 3D=Direct sequel to the original. Not a remake. DEFINITELY see the original first.
