"When a group of misfits is hired by an unknown third party to burglarize a desolate house and acquire a rare VHS tape, they discover more found footage than they bargained for."

Okay.. this film was creepy. Each tape had a totally and completely different story than the last. Some stories were cheap, some were creepy, and some had me hiding my eyes because of how intense they seemed.
At first, the film seemed like a shaky camera movie that would end up making me sick. But once it actually started going, I discovered that it was actually a very intriguing and creepy concept. They used a couple different filming techniques (eyeglasses camera, webcam, video camera, etc) which was refreshing.
These tapes go from demons, to homicide, to ghosts, to possessions, etc. It seems like there is something for everyone. I really enjoyed this film. Has anyone else heard of or seen this movie?

At this point it's probably worth just waiting for DVD depending on rental prices in your area. It was a pretty expensive rental at $8 on the playstation network, but that most likely is due to it's "still in theaters" tag.

I'm seeing it in theaters even if it's limited. *travels over 3 hours to see indie movies*

What did you think of it? :D

I still haven't seen it but since it just arrived on DVD (and VHS, appropriately enough) I should be able to soon. It comes to Redbox in 3 days.

Bish pls, I saw it on Comcast not even a month ago.

The DVD is FULL of features. I think it has more than five.

LOL@how most movies (even on Blu Ray) get less than an hour or stuff nowadays.
OhMyGod! Saw this a week ago and totally loved it<3. I hate though, that the strongest sequence of the film (Amateur Night) came first, with the main storyline falling flat to some extent and the worst sequence (the Halloween one) being the ending of the film. Plenty of great gore, decent acting, extremely harsh moments, wild kills, suspense, jolts (I actually jumped a couple times, mainly during Emily's tape) and some great suspense. It also FELT like I was watching a series of tapes without being overly forced and too crackly/grainy/whatever. If they'd rearranged the tapes to make the ending more satisfying it'd be higher than my final rating of an 8/10.

Whats everyone's ranking of the tapes?

Everything is in spoilers as I think this movie benefits greatly if you have absolutely no expectations going in. To re-state what I said eariler, I really liked this movie and you should all go out and watch it right away before reading too much about it. I ended up talking a friend into buying it last night as he remembered me briefly talking about it when he saw it in store.

i liked it. it wasn't super duper great, but it was entertaining and i'm a sucker for anthology horror. there were some weak stories in there (the lake one in particular... didn't like it at all), but the first story, the last one, and the one with the honeymoon were definitely my favorites.

i heard there's gonna be a second part.

Yeah the alternate 10/31 ending was HORRIBLE and nonsensical. It made the whole thing pointless and was a cheap trick. Ew.

My rank of the segments INCLUDING the 'main story' =

Amateur Night > Tuesday The 17th > That Sick Thing That Happened To Emily When She Was Younger > Second Honeymoon > Tape 56 > 10/31/98
