Lot of rumours swirling about Alexandra Daddario to be the likely lead in the new NC-17 film "Fifty Shades of Gray", based on the hugely popular book. If this comes to pass, do you think that the sequel to TC3D will be her last appearance as Heather? She will vault, IMHO, to superstar status if she takes on the "Fifty Shades" role, and I would be surprised if she would continue in more than one TC3D sequel. Your thoughts? |

Hmm. This could've went in the thread for the upcoming TC3D sequel. Is it okay if I merge them to save some space? :) In response to your post though, I can see it going either way. If she does land the role in Fifty Shades, she may pull a Rooney Mara and distance herself from the TCM series as much as possible. BUT she could also pull a Jamie Lee Curtis and return to the series like Jamie did in H20 (not saying Alex is at Jamie's level just yet, but you get what I'm saying, hopefully). Personally, I would like Alexandra to return for one, MAYBE two sequel(s) but no more than that. It'd be nice to have her as a recurring character, but on the other hand, I would not want the whole series to pretty much JUST become about her. |

Please feel free to merge them, thank you! I just think if she lands the role, it is inevitable that "Fifty Shades" will make huge bucks, becoming by far the biggest NC-17 film in history. And she will be gone as Heather. Agreed, two more films with Alexandra as Heather would be fine. Anything more, and you're trying to get blood out of a turnip. |

I don't see her as the snooty type. I think she'll still return for the TCM sequel time and oppurtunity willing. She's up and coming- not exactly established yet and can't afford to turn down roles. Besides what if 50 shades flop? A good actress always has to have a back up. As long as the script for the sequel is fresh and interesting and she has time I really do believe she would return. |

Poor Alexandra. Also, as for the film, highly doubt they'll keep it an NC-17. NC-17 films have limited theater releases and if anything they'll put an extended cut out on the home video release. Edited by SusanAgreesWithYou, Jan 8 2013, 07:39 PM.

I kind hope it remains as a trilogy. So we'll only need Heather for two more films. Or at least they plan her role out for 3 films and then kill her off. Like John said I don't want her to become the main face of the series. Because as she becomes a bigger actress the harder and harder it'll get to bring her back. |

I only know what I read about this, but what I'm seeing is that the studio making "Fifty Shades" plans to challenge the "limited release" mentality on NC-17 rated films. Back on topic, I find it hard to imagine that Heather "gets out of this alive". I can see her coming back for two sequels at the most, but if this series goes the way of SAW, as per the initial discussions with Lionsgate, then some "new blood" should be introduced to take the series forward past that point. |

They also need to build the family back up. Heather and Leather are the last of the Sawyers but maybe the sequels can bring new characters into the mix and even though they're not related they become Sawyers. Afterall family isn't just blood when you think about it. But this would all be set up over several sequels. That way whenever Heather dies Leatherface isn't a sole antagonist. |
