Yeah, I don't think they ever confirmed it. Hell, as far as I know they got lazy and it's been a week or so since they even updated the box office intake (even though it's still in theaters in some places). It's sad that the budget was probably higher than $8 million. If it'd only bee $8,000,000 that'd mean it's made at least FIVE times it's budget rather than just twice it's budget.

Am I the only one whose opinion on this film HASN'T changed for the worst since the first time seeing it? *Rolls eyes*
Me?
I didnt really like it much to begin with. It has entertaining moments, but overall eh.
Nah, not just you. That goes to pretty much everybody who was all "This was fun and entertaining and rewatchable and I liked it!" opening weekend but when they saw that the amount of money was decreasing, opinions suddenly changed.
I hyped this up the first time I watched it, giving it an 8/10. I saw it again, and then noticed how the ending didn't really feel "TCM"-worthy. The terrible "Do your thing cuz!" line, and Leatherface not killing Heather, and her all of a sudden not caring how he just slaughtered her friends and boyfriend just didn't sit well with me. I did like it, and I will definitely buy it when it comes out on Blu-ray, but I can't give it more than like a 6.5/10 now. I still like it more than 2, and The Next Generation.

My favorite installments of the series include the original, the remake, and The Beginning. All three of those films end either with everyone dying, or someone narrowly escaping death. The films caused Leatherface to be one of my most feared horror villains of all time. In TC3D, right when he is about to give Heather the old bisection, he suddenly stops, sees her birthmark, and everything is magically okay because they are cousins. It didn't give that raw, atmospheric, terrifying ending that most of the other films have. It felt like Hollywood got a hold of it, and ended it in a way that would appeal to most people who have never seen a TCM film before. Much too lighthearted of an ending for me. I hope that explained it.

Whenever a friend disappoints me now, I am going to say, "you are not TCM-worthy". Let them figure it out.

I'm not sure if I should be offended, or should be laughing...

I've always thought it was a bit disappointing, but still enjoyable. I'll buy it when it comes out.

It disappointed me as well but good lord...I didn't wait 40 days to finally start listing the things wrong with it lol. Buying it asap. Hopefully it gets some decent features and/or an Unrated version. If it doesn't, I'll wait for it to be under $10 on Blu Ray, or I'll just pick up the DVD.
