Exactly Taylor. For the most part, I blame the 3D. Quite a few 3D films have suffered the same exact problem. They're very bloody and harsh when it comes to the violent content, but the CGI and the 3D harms it in more ways than one. If it'd been 2D, with the EXACT same shots, angles, and amount of blood with more practical effects there would be no complaints, I'm sure.

Oh yeah, if it was the same amount of blood, but mostly piratical. Then yeah, I probably wouldn't complain, lol. It's just that the CGI made it look REALLY bad, and it kinda took me outta it. Which is a shame, because two of the deaths WERE very good. (minus the effects).

Also if it had been in 3D/had the piratical effects, I wouldn't of had a problem either :P

Well I think the MAIN reason they used sooo much CGI is BECAUSE it was being filmed in (or converted to?) 3D. If it'd been 2D, they probably would've had a lot more practical effects. It's kind of like Piranha 3D (2010) and TFD. I believe they had so much CGI because of the 3D. TC3D's effects were STILL better than TFD's though, aside from one scene. :P I reeeally hope we get the Unrated version but it's looking doubtful. If we get that, anjd it's a big improvement, maybe the people (notyouTaylor) who loved it when it first came out but dislike it now wouldn't be picking it apart so much. (LOL)

Who else was disappointed with the lack of gore?
No offense, but I completely disagree. Most of the kills we got were an absolute bloodbath. If anything, we should be disappointed by the lack of KILLS.

Amen. Compared to the remake (8 deaths including the two investigators at the end) and The Beginning (11 deaths including the cop and random guy at the ending), the bodycount here was a bit disappointing. I expected it to be in the double digits - when it came to singular kills.

Instead, like 7 or 8 people died in the intro (gunshots) with only 6 or 7 dying in the rest of the film. Hopefully if we get a sequel it'll be more along the lines of The Beginning when it comes to the bodycount. It's odd that this has the BIGGEST bodycount when you include the family massacred in the opening but one of the smallest bodycounts if you don't count them lol.

Series counts: 5, 8, 5 or 6, 6, 8, 11, 6 or 7.

I know<3. Totally excited. I hope there's a combo pack but I'm not sure if there will be.
A 3 disc set of the 3D Blu Ray, 2D Blu Ray, and DVD would be beautiful.

This is the real, OFFICIAL forum we moved to. No trolls, no drama, plenty of horror discussions.

I liked the van scene, the opening, the carnival scene (even though it was underwhelming) and the scenes in the basement lair most of all.
