Next Generation.

Don't you honestly think, as enjoyable as the scene is, the dinner scene in the original is far better in quality and more gritty and terrifying?

I'll say this about the Next Generation Dinner scene: It is unmatched in its star power.

Think how far Renee Zellweger and Matthew McConaughey have come in their careers since that scene.

"Set her free, child" is one of the lines of the series that have always stuck with me. I love that she delivered it so calmly, like she was sad almost, and it was followed by a very harsh death. Looooove it<3. Still though, my vote remains the same, for the original film's insane, intense scene. :P

Would it have been interesting if instead of the slaughterhouse in TC3D, Heather had instead been taken to a remote house, where she would have had to endure a "dinner scene" with the mayor and his vicious brood? Might have put a whole new spin on the dinner scene, but I'll take what we got.

Love that idea Kibby! My vote goes to the original, like many others here. I do absolutely adore The Beginning's scene as well though.

Would have changed the movie dramatically. Could have been right up there with the original in terms of madness and pain and suffering for our heroine. The torture and pure hell that Heather would have endured would have likely been insane, until Leatherface stepped in and went berserk on the whole clan.
