Posted Image Until this year, there were about 300 requests for permits by law enforcement to use unmanned flying drones inside the USA. This year, the FAA received over 1200 requests, and it estimates that law enforcement will have 10,000 drones flying around the country by 2018. The drones will be used for everything from surveillance to pursuits to crowd control to everything in-between. A backlash has started brewing about this in Congress, but it appears unlikely the votes are there to stop the increase in drone usage. Police claim it saves their departments money. What do you think? Is the use of unmanned drones by police a good idea or a bad idea? |
