1. Monster
2. Zero Day
3. The Butterfly Effect
4. The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo
5. Boys Don't Cry

I gotta think of more D: lol
Irreversible should be at the top of the list.

In no particular order:

Elephant (utterly disturbing)
Gerry (directed by Van Sant; very underrated)
Goodbye, Children (very poignant)
The Elephant Man (arguably the most depressing film I have ever seen)
The Assassination of Jesse James (utterly tragic)
AI: Artificial Intelligence (^ ditto)
Eyes Wide Shut (the best film about relationships from the best filmmaker; an emotional roller-coaster)
Irreversible (don't consider it a horror, but that rape scene was tough. Beautiful film though)
Toy Story 3 (haha, yes, not tragic nor disturbing, but very dark and emotionally engaging for an animated film)
When the Wind Blows (one of the most downright distressing and hopeless viewings ever. The ultimate film about a Nuclear Holocaust. Just unbelievable).
Night and Fog (the best film about the Holocaust. Period).

(yes)

I feel terrible but I didn't cry during Toy Story 3. Beautiful and sad yes? I didn't cry though.

You haven't seen Toy Story 3?

Well, not as bad as Keon never watching Monsters Inc.

I nearly cried during Toy Story 3, but it wasn't in a depressing way. It was just so beautiful and poetic.

And John, definitely watch When the Wind Blows if you can, dude. So haunting and so incredibly powerful. Not a horror film (obviously) but more haunting than most out there. (yes) The only other film that is as helpless and distressing is the horror film The Girl Next Door (one which killed me, emotionally).

The Girl Next Door really got to me in a lot of ways. Blah. Crushed my mood for like three days after seeing it. Still not THE most upsetting film I've seen though.

I've been meaning to see When The Wind Blows. It's on Youtube, right? I'll try to watch it and buy the DVD if I end up being effected enough after the first viewing.

Megan Is Missing. Some might consider it a thriller or a brutal drama.

I know what you mean in regards to The Girl Next Door. It was just so emotionally draining.

And yep, it's on YouTube in its entirety. That film stayed with me for a while, too.
