I rewatched this last night, and i still think its a pile of shit. Especially as a remake. I forgot how hot Andy is though.
While I don't hate it or anything, I don't love it as much as I used to. :P Why'd you hate it so much?
It just doesnt compare to the original at all. It tries too hard as well, and its obvious. It didnt really have that realistic feel like the original, the script wasnt great either. And its still not very good, when i think of it as a stand alone slasher. The Beginning is so much better, and i dont even think of it as a prequel to this.
It's kind of hard to NOT see The Beginning as a prequel to this since it had five returning actors/actresses XD
I agree that it doesn't come close to being the realistic masterpiece that the original was, but I thought the writing was actually quite strong for the most part.
What i meant was, i think of The Beginning as a stand alone TCM movie in a way lol.
I feel if someone like Rob Zombie was the one who remade this, it would've been alot better, and would probably have a chance at doing the original justice.
Agreed, to a certain extent. While I'm not sure if it would've been BETTER overall, I'm almost positive it would've been alot more gritty, realistic, and so on.

I spoke too fast. I think he might would do a great job with a sequel to TC3D with Heather and Leatherface. But I wouldn't want his version of a remake. I adore the 2003 remake and think its perefectly dark, suspenseful, and indeed gritty. Its not gritty like the original or even in the same way and I like that.

Just because the remake didn't replicate everything like the original doesn't mean its a negative. I think it was good PD made it their own. I think people focus on what it didn't do instead of what it did. See it through clear glasses and put the original aside for a second lol.

But no I doubt I would enjoy a Zombie created remake. HO1C is already close enough.

I didnt say it needed to replicate everything, that doesnt even work (Psycho '98 for example). Its just not good.

I feel if someone like Rob Zombie was the one who remade this, I probably wouldn't proudly own the Blu-Ray.
