This is probably my favorite of the series. I know the characters weren't well developed, but it had such a strong, realistic, creepy, disturbing atmosphere to it! I felt incredibly unsettled while I watched! Besides, I really liked Sally TBH :)

Franklin was annoying though. I liked everyone else ok. And that meathook kill! O_O

I agree with everything here. lol. And While I understand why Franklin was so annoying (tbh, I can give him a back story of him newly being in the wheelchair). He still is an annoying character.

I'm not sure how the restaraunt is doing now. I remember seeing stuff on the two disc DVD about it. A goal of mine before I die is to eat there.

This movie is amazing, imo and deserves pretty much all of the praise it gets. It didn't need gore, it didn't need long, drawn out dramatic moments, it didn't need anything big and fancy. It was just raw and realistic, with some great suspense moments, awesome cinematography, deaths that came out of nowhere, and some of the scariest villains in horror history.
You pretty much covered everything I had to say, it was just the overall gritty feel that did it for me I think. You don't have to get too hung up on facts, is the plot great? It's not amazing, but as a common staple for the slasher community since it's release it more than suffices.

It starts off with a great opening and pretty much continues from there imo.

A rural setting with eerie sounds. Plus, I just love the sound of that chainsaw.

On a whole I think this movie is more about giving the viewers an experience, something they won't forget in a hurry together with a sensory overload. There are a lot of things that are left unanswered; things that are left for us to decide, and I think the movie benefits from this. There doesn't need to be a motive, or a big explanation/reveal, back story etc - sometimes people are just batshit crazy.

I've done some things in my life that I'm not proud of, and the things I am proud of are disgusting.

Nicely put Dubsy.

While the characters of the Remake are more likable, and Sally is the only really developed character in this. I still love this one more then the Remake, for the gritty feeling and the outstanding acting by the family. Not to mention I love the furniture made from bones. And just basically everything about how it is made.

What's the restaurants name? I have the black DVD with the side of the chainsaw on the cover. My friend gave it to me but it was supposed to come with that piece of meat with it.

Yeah I have that edition as well. It sucks imo. Only has one or two commentaries and poorly edited deleted footage and trailers.

The two disc edition is MUCH better. 2 or 3 commentaries and like 6 hours of documentaries, deleted scenes and other goodies.

Is that the one with Leatherface with his chainsaw on the road?
